My Zippy is 7 years old now and you did an excellent review of it.👍🏼👍🏼

have used this pack (the first version) on two combat deployments to date. I also own other packs and equipment from Kifaru. The gear is expensive, but that's because the quality is far above any others. Excellent gear, excellent American made craftsmanship, excellent company. The Zippy is easily a 48-72 hour pack especially when loading on external gear /pockets. If you buy one piece of their gear...youll be back for me!

@every day survival It is funny I can't reply to your comment. All day long and twice on Sundays my friend. Your used medium alice pack was just as expensive when issued, you simply bought it used. I simply show the gear I like and use. Nobody is forcing you to watch or buy what I show. Sounds to me like you should find another channel to watch.

Really nice designed pack! Thanks for showcasing these. Will be considering one of these for an upcoming outdoor kit. Thanks Ben!

Interesting design. I like how the straps are in multicam. Not so sure I like the wing pockets and pass through but this was a great review. Thanks for sharing.

I'm sure the quality doesn't come over on video compared to in person but still.... $299?! Budget buster right there.

Awesome looking pack. Little bit pricey, but then again it's made in the USA so it's worth it for the quality.
Looking at the pack on their website before this video, I was like "The only thing it needs is an admin pouch/organizer pocket on the front." Lo and behold, they sell one that is designed to fit on this pack and all of their packs haha.
For the strap issue, ITW Web Dominators are amazing and require no sewing as they just clip onto the end of the strap. Kifaru even sells them on their website under the "Accessories" seciton. Just a suggestion. :)
    Great video as always, Ben!

I guess I'm pretty late to the party, but it would be really great if you could do a side-by-side comparison for size, carrying capacity, etc. Between the Umlindi and the Urban Zippy. I'm kinda stuck between the two. I have gear from both houses so I know the quality is second to none on either, but I don't wanna have to pull the trigger on both of them to figure out the details. Your reviews (the ones I've seen) are really useful and I like how you talk about the gear without always using the "house terminology". So I know any side by side stuff you could throw out would be super useful to me. Thanks for your time, be safe.

Ben....Like this design ! Packed properly, you could get to any item quickly and easily without pulling everything out. Very cool. Especially for a day pack..... Thanks for your reviews, they are very informative as usual......PAPA DUKES

+john rossi Yep, the only thing you have to remember to do is close the side doors if you open them. Moving your pack without remembering that you will lose items.

I thought it could be a weekend pack until I saw it on your back. Its' small but looks like a good pack. I think this would be a great pack if it had the molle webbing. I watch a couple of people's videos on here. The thing is, what food do you take with you. Do a video on a pack with everything you would take including food on a weekend trip. I don't have a place or to go and have fun every weekend. I will find or buy that place.

Ben, great review but this pack seems a bit expensive for what your getting. No padding or ventilation ribs on the back....... I'll stick with my direct action dragon egg that I bought thanks to your recommendation.

    Nice looking pack.
    A couple of things.
I like packs with outside pockets to keep water bottles. I don't like liquids inside a pack.
I see you have a stove, cook kit, mess kit but no food.

    Hi, as always, AWSOME review!
I know it is a different style of pack but do you prefer the Kifaru Urban Zippy over the Dragon Egg from Direct Action?
    I am torn between the:
    Kifaru "urban zippy",
    Kifaru X-Ray,
TAD Fast EDC Pack and the
    "Dragon Egg".
Purpose of use is mainly Urban & Travel EDC Pack.
    Would greatly appreciate any inputs...THANKS!

    • @livingsurvival
      @livingsurvival  8 років тому

I'd travel with the Dragon Egg. The Kifaru holds more. Haven't tried the X-Ray or TAD packs.

Hey man, a while back you said you would do a review of the Warbonnet Blackbird hammock. Any update on that? Was really looking forward to it. Regardless, love the channel and thanks for the review on the Urban Zippy, was looking at either this or the Antero by Kifaru for EDC purposes.

A great choice for my edc.
In my city every other kid has a camo backpack on going too and from school. As well as some hipsters with a 8$ dbl. latte' in their hand.
So if they don't offer Flecktarn then multi cam is perfect for me ; )
