I am exhausted from watching the game. They pulled it off. The team deserves a standing ovation and to be very proud of themselves. They never gave up. I am unable to wipe this poop eating grin off my face. GO HAWKS. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Don't think we deserve a division championship but hats off to the team for sticking together and getting the job done. I'm glad Brian got the win on Senior day and got to enjoy it with his family. It was cool to see the embrace with Kirk and the overflowing emotions. Lets go beat Nebraska and hope and pray against Michigan/OSU that we don't get embarrassed..
You play the games... you win the games... they didn't cheat anyone out of a chance to beat them out of the division championship. They actually should be 10-1 at this point.
We didn't deserve to see our potential all-conference QB get hurt pre-season, have to start off the season playing hurt and then go down for the season after a couple games. We didn't deserve to lose our two best tight ends. We didn't deserve to lose Cooper DeJean. We didn't deserve the various other injuries that have hampered the team all season. If anything Iowa was the most deserving in the division.
It would be epic, but there's a problem: The Big 10 can't afford to have Iowa win the title game because that would shut the conference out of the playoffs altogether. Remember, OSU or UM are the only teams that can go to the CFP, but Iowa-- even at 11-2-- would never be picked. The Hawkeyes could knock out the one, undefeated team that the Big 10 could get in, and cost the league millions of dollars. Sure this is a conspiracy theory, but a 4-team playoff invites corruption, because CONFERENCES KNOW ONLY CERTAIN TEAMS CAN BRING THE MONEY! Calls won't be too egregious; but close calls, i'm predicting, will go against the Hawks. A guaranteed conference champ-- starting next season-- will end this possibility of corruption, because conferences won't be sweating who wins their league's title game. The 12-team playoff will save the game.
@@charlesvorones3612 oh well absolutely, but man as a Hawkeye fan I’ve wanted this for so long. I’m only 28 so I can hardly remember when they won last.
@@MrSilus2000 Next year can't come soon enough. The 12-team playoff will mean that we don't have to wonder if there's any foul play or anything suspicious about underdogs getting robbed by bad calls because a conference is desperate to have their top 4 team stay unbeaten in order to get millions and millions of dollars from CFP. Next year, if an 8-5 Northwestern pulls an upset and wins the Big 10 title, the greedy conference execs won't care, because their champ, regardless of who it is, GETS INTO THE PLAYOFF.
Iowa's defense got a lot of help from the refs. The refs allowed the Iowa defensive secondary to literally tackle Illinois receivers while they were running their routes. Iowa's defense committed defensive pass interference almost every play. In the first half alone there were at least 2 plays where an Illini receiver was literally tackled and knocked to the ground while the ball was in the air approaching the receiver. I was shocked that defensive pass interference wasn't called on Iowa. And on the flip side, there were at least a couple occasions where an Illinois defender barely touched an Iowa receiver and it was called defensive pass interference on Illinois. Furthermore, we had the play towards the end of the 1st half in which the Illinois receiver caught the ball (in the Red Zone) and clearly made it past the 1st down marker by a couple yards, and they didn't give Illinois the 1st down, which then forced Illinois to kick a field goal instead of continuing that drive for a touchdown. The refs cost Illinois several points, which would've meant victory for Illinois instead of losing. Iowa didn't deserve to win this game; they had a tremendous amount of help from the refs. Iowa is going to get destroyed by Ohio State (or Michigan). It'll probably be Ohio State, because I can't see Michigan beating Ohio State. Michigan is a tad over-rated.
Going to Indy is a Pyrrhic victory for any team in the Big Ten West because they are going to get steamrolled on national television which won't help recruiting. If Indiana were in the West rather than at the bottom of the East, they would probably be a mid-tier team on par with Illinois or Nebraska, that's how bad the entire West is.
The fact that Iowa is a terrible call away from being 10-1 is astounding
Or a terrible call away from being 8-3. Weird how illinois was spot a yard back on their last field goal.
Agree 🎉🎉🎉🎉
refs were horrible all game both sides @@obvioustrollthatbaitedyou5036

If Iowa does not deserve a division championship, what big ten west team does and why didn't they get it?
Who deserves it then

What a stupid take
Man I want them to win out so bad just to shake things up in the playoff picture
That would be absolutely insane. I would sell all of my possessions to go see them in whatever bowl game, if they beat Michigan or OSU.

The battle of the punters: Sports illustrated edition. God I would hate to be an Iowa fan knowing my team is so incredibly bad.
Another beautifully ugly Iowa game. Go Hawks!
Hawkeyes still can't score more than 25 points but got a win! Go Hawkeyes!🏈🏈🏈🏈

I think the upcoming game between Michigan and Iowa for the Big Ten championship will be a close and exciting concept.
90s style high-school style win
3-2 loss would've been the most Iowa thing ever

Your tears are so sweet.
Why is bro so mad
Maybe you watched the game sitting behind Bret Bielema and so your view was seriously instructed. Probably could see much at all.
