Colour charting your paints is so helpful in the long run. It does save you time and money giving you options for colours you are looking for. Anyone who hasn't done one I would highly recommend it. Great lesson Clive. 👍
Clive I made that chart and my students were liking it. Very useful. I think better than a color wheel, because you can see what your own paints can do. Some students use cheap paint which shows how buying better paints gives better results. Thanks for all your tips.
Better to use a mid range paint also making colour cards or charts you learn to mix how to save money by mixing your own colours like Payne’s grey and orange also lets you have a reference
Spending time watching your Utube videos has been a very good learning experience. I learn from you what no one else teaches. Please continue to make future videos.
Was looking forward to this one and was worth the wait. Thanks Clive For any beginner, skies usually get lighter towards the horizon and slightly greener. Every sky is different obviously but i usually use ultramarine blue at the top and add a greener blue towards the horizon like a phthalo blue.
Thanks for sharing. I know I am speaking for most beginners, color mixing is the problem we most face, and it is good that you broke it down to the painted subject- in which one would actually USE those colors. Very useful instruction and tool. I'm hoping you will do greens also, as it relates to trees and meadows. Also yellows. ☺
Ahh a bit disappointed was looking forward to you doing a painting. This reminded me too much of school lessons!🤣 but despite this your still my favourite teacher😂
There is a painting lesson next week this was voted to be shown by the community notifications are set out to ask what you would like to see next but don’t worry I’ll make it up to you all
WOW! I did what you said on one and placed it under heavy glass. Guess what? I don't see the creases on the painted side! (just a few on the back) I left it over-night which I probably shouldn't have because of mildew. I will try it again on another piece and only do it a few hours like you suggested. Thank you so much Clive for your help and great videos! P.S. I used a clothing iron with a piece of clothe to help iron out the rest of the creases which also helped since the canvas is already damp.@@CLIVE5ART
Also, can you mix blues used in a painted seascape(not together, but in the seascape)? For example a phyllo blue and an Ultramarine; Ultramarine in the sky and Phalo in the water?
No not sponsored affiliated the paper is by arteza I don’t have any paints from them, all I was sent was the paper which has been used in other lessons and featured in this one
Decided to register at Arteza, as I was going to buy some paint from them to try. No can do... because I am not able to enter my country, they use a country-list to choose from and my country (Iceland) is not on their list. So, I will not order anything from them.

Hello Clive, I would like to ask a question. I have some canvas sheets that are creased. Do you know how to get the creases out? TY
What I would do is damp the non painting side place then on a flat surface and put some heavy books on them and wait a few hours and see if that works
Great idea! Thanks Clive! @@CLIVE5ART

Seascapes are not just blue but incorporate greens greys and even grey so it depends on the photo or view your painting there is no set formula
Great video but missed the live chat! Darn it!
No worries I will be putting a link on the face book groups and on the channels community tab next time
This video is sponsored by Arteza but you use another brand for the demo?
