    Hi billy- old video but new to me. Great content!
    I’m a 24R user for both an in ear rack and FOH in some situations.
    1.Do you ever use the Presonus graphic eq on the main bus to tune your system?
    2. I love your matrix mix setup on the M32R. I know the 24R has matrix capability- any way to do something similar like you’re doing on the Midas? I’m guessing I’d have to use a mono flex mix bus, set it as a matrix and output it to an aux out for my subs for example.
    Just trying to get a better system tuning experience with the least amount of equipment.
    Should I just go team Midas instead? :-). Cheers!

      Thanks for the kind words! I never set up a matrix on the 24R when I owned it. On the small run of shows I used it on, I had the DBX system processor. I used the 24R parametric for fine notches since the DBX did most of the tonal shaping. I preferred the Midas for live mixing which is why I sold the 24R.

    Is the venue more reliable than the PA2? I had problems with mine and had to send it back.

      I have a PA2 as well, which has been issue free. I did have a weird issue with the Venu360 where it got stuck. I made a video on the reset process: ua-cam.com/video/fCaBFf8lmQA/v-deo.html

    Do you use shielded ethernet cable on the radial catapults?

    • @billylaguardia
      @billylaguardia  2 роки тому +2

      Yes. You will need to use shielded (stp) cables with the Catapults. The shield carries the ground (pin 1). A unshielded (utp) cable will only carry pins 2 & 3. I have a video that takes the Catapult apart if you’d like to see it’s guts! 😬

      @@billylaguardia watched that video and enjoyed it! Wasn't sure if you typically use shielded just on those and have a different cable for internet connections and the like or if you typically go with shielded for everything

      It can get a little weird when it comes to using data cable in audio applications. Protocols like AVB as an example do not require the shield. Analog audio requires the shield because it provides another conductor to wire the ground. I don't think its necessarily about preventing interference. More using it as an available conductor. Shielded cable is usually a safe choice, unless a manufacturer recommends against it (AVB being an example of that). You can use a standard data cable, however you won't have the ground. Which won't allow you to use phantom power and could allow noise. No harm in trying it, especially if you are in a pinch! I have a video that I need to edit showing how to wire 2 XLR's to a RJ45 jack so you can use run audio lines in a building''s existing infrastructure.

      @@billylaguardia I definitely will be on the edge of my seat waiting for that video to be live! That's one of the ideas I've had in my head so I'd love to see how you do that! I've gotten into making my own cables recently and your videos have been entertaining and helpful... I appreciate you responding to my questions like this and look forward to what lies ahead. Thanks for being an inspiration

    You need to rethink everything you’re doing

      Done. I’ve also took a nap, had a good stretch, and cooked myself a healthy breakfast. What should my next step be?
