It is better to be learned if you can stay humble. Please stay humble like you are brother Peterson. We love you and appreciate what you do!

The more I study literature and rhetoric, the more I am starting to appreciate the Book of Mormon. I can sympathize with many criticisms, and yet I am finding even more depth, inspiration, and harmony within its pages than ever before. It's not meant to be a riveting page-turner, but there is a power in that book. It has increased my testimony of the Son of God.

Love hearing Dan talk. He slows down it down just a bit, which Hugh Nibley was never able to do.

I've been a fan of Dan Peterson for about a year. He's done the research I've been too lazy to do. I get to use his work to buttress my opinions! I love it!

It is a terrific read, but I wouldn't try the audio book. It's very rich and I took it very slow and pensive.

I loved the reference about the valet. Moments ago I watched an old _WHAT'S MY LINE?_ and one of the guests was Jackie Gleason's valet. At the end the host asked about the pronunciation. Most people have it wrong, he said. "It's actually pronounced _valet_." (Val-ět) Never heard that before and have no idea if it's true. I've always pronounced it _val-ā_.

Yeah, as was Confucious, Siddartha Gautama and others. They were inspired by God:
“Based upon ancient and modern revelation, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints gladly teaches and declares the Christian doctrine that all men and women are brothers and sisters, not only by blood relationship from mortal progenitors, but also as literal spirit children of an Eternal Father.
“The great religious leaders of the world such as Mohammed, Confucius, and the Reformers, as well as philosophers including Socrates, Plato, and others, received a portion of God’s light. Moral truths were given to them by God to enlighten whole nations and to bring a higher level of understanding to individuals."
      The Book of Mormon:
2 Nephi 29:12 "For behold, I shall speak unto the Jews and they shall write it; and I shall also speak unto the Nephites and they shall write it; and I shall also speak unto the other tribes of the house of Israel, which I have led away, and they shall write it; and I shall also speak unto all nations of the earth and they shall write it."
Alma 29:8 "For behold, the Lord doth grant unto all nations, of their own nation and tongue, to teach his word, yea, in wisdom, all that he seeth fit that they should have; therefore we see that the Lord doth counsel in wisdom, according to that which is just and true"
