It’s really 12 counts with the way he’s counting and don’t on the 12th but to count it in regular seconds instead of on tempo it would be half that time which is 6 seconds

So in every four beats instead of dividing it into eighth notes, or 16ths, etc. You can cut it into 3's and hit those beats instead(think flows like the Migos or dababy). So you count to six on beat you did two quarter measures, he did double time but still on the triplets you heard, so 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10-11-point = 12 beats, you just count on the longer beat so it's 6. Aka you figured it out correctly, and this proves it, he's just doing double time
