- Bryson Tiller first gained a following after sharing “Don’t,” a single off his 2015 debut 'T R A P S O U L' that currently holds over 300 million Spotify streams. However, one of the album’s standout tracks “Exchange” also solidified the Louisville artist’s status as a rising voice, earning him his first Grammy nomination for Best R&B Song.

I love this series. We really need to put the faces of all these producers in the forefront. Producers are so important for the culture!
BlackySpeakz luv ur vids Home slice
MakeItNasty much love bro
true
masterminds behind the beat, engineers too
Can you guys check out my recent kid laroi beat? Gimme some advice? Thanks! ua-cam.com/video/5sSTcW8rFtE/v-deo.html
Strategic simplicity
Who stole whom?
Bomsaun no one they just used the same sample
Yo shout out Kyle beats
Foreign put his version out first though ppl. He just was putting respect to his name because of the insane identifiable similarities . Ppl do others filthy cause they onna certain level an think they can just let it rock, stand up dude.. 🫡
man.... sampling is a true art form. Finally a video on this song is one that i've been waiting for!
This guy Copied the sample
The intro in exchange always gets me in this kinda mood i can't even describe it... It's just beautiful
Fr bro
like if you’re a producer and you have a good sample but the fucking drums are in the way.
I I so fucking true
Or when there’s excess talking over a good melody... happened many times.
Bro he did a good job taking out them high hats from the sample tho 👌👌👌
There is a Plug-in for that it's called Unmix drums! It cuts out the drums better than you would ever be able with an eq
Jean-Carlos Baez to follow-up on your comment, if anyone was curious the developer’s name is Zynaptic
This episode will definitely cause some controversy.
I mean he did steal it
I used to think that too but they just used the same sample, im sure thousands of people have used that sample. but only a few of the beats got heard. one was j cole, one was bryson tiller and one was G money. if you listen to them they all sound different so nobody stole anything
Lo Divino vinylz literally came out and said he played the deja vu beat for him so I don’t see your point
SoSiKBeatz he definitely stole the idea. He used the same drums and everything and even admitted that he was “inspired” by deja vu
If these dumb motherfuckers have the nerve to say he jacked it, y'all foolish as fuck. If Foreign Teck "stole" it, than so did J.Cole's producer. It's a fucking sample. How you gonna excuse him of stealing when it wasn't even original in Deja Vu? Xxxtentacion popped off with Look at me, but do you know Lil Dicky and many others has already sampled that song for the beat? (Changes by Mala) So many ignorant mf talking out their ass about nothing they know about. Smh.
this beat always gonna make me feel like i’m in a late night in summer in my feels
omg bro 😭 my 2k17-18
Now I want a Breakdown of Cole “Deja Vu”
Isaiah Watson j cole gon do that shit himself in 2020
Me 2 me 2 me 2 me 2
You just watched it
Mrtrilltyler Bryson tiller's producers stole it.
Cole had this song first, released it later.
Genius has to post the making of ‘Deja Vu’ after this just for shits and giggles.
deja vu came out a year later , shut up
LKP3 nice comment
Xonin Jump you came back to this video after 2 yrs , that’s kinda cool
LKP3 wow, you’re gonna lose your shit when you discover notifications.
@@lkp378 came out a year later but made before exchange lmao
Bring K Swisha for Uber Everywhere & Murda Beatz for Portland or Butterfly Effect
Haider Hasan K swisha hella underrated
Haider Hasan We need murda beatz on here
Haider Hasan yessss
Yessss!!!!!!
yeah murda on portland for sure or 40 on Feel no ways
Damn it’s been 2 years since Trap Soul
Isaiah Watson it's spelled *T R A P S O U L*
+Kaz Kem too bad his new tape was trash and he prolly won't be releasing anything good
Isaiah Watson I feel old now 😭💀
Damn
cool guy i liked it
Producers are the real MVP's. Should have Producer awards!
Yall need to make this series a priority these are so fire
both Deja Vu and Exchange are amazing tracks so i really dont care even if somene copied it.... we just want great music
fuck you... you dont know real music
true to self didnt live up to trapsoul success, hopefully Bryson releases another classic album 🙏🏿
hamza saleh 2020 still waiting
May 2020 and we are still waiting
July 2020 still waiting
August 2020 and still waiting
October 2020. Dropped it
One of the best entries in this series so far. Great in depth explanation of his process.
I swear these break downs would make you appreciate the music even more once you understand the structure of everything being made.
keep these kind of producer vibe coming, genius
i love how he put so much determination into the beat to get it just right.
Official.lariah he stole that shit
Michael from who?
Vinylz & Boi1da
He a fraud
Official.lariah if you listen to deja by by j cole it has the exact same beat...
Something from Channel Orange deconstructed 👌🏻
One of the best explained deconstructed videos. He speaks clearly, he holds nothing back and this is much appreciated.
“I was on UA-cam” but wait....
Didn’t Boi-1da and Vinylz accuse you of stealing it
The dude stole it, man. He can lie all he wants, why the fuck would they go out of their way to accuse this mans? Especially Boi-1da.
He asked to hear the beat and Vinylz sent it then boom he has a track with Bryson that's identical to the on Vinylz sent. He even basically admitted it too in the tweets they sent each other.
Cristian Marin had a rapper steal one of my beats n he acted like he made it ..
yes he did, he stole the beat from g money
Lyrical Mason what are the chances the sample will be the same pitch and near same tempo? I mean come on yes whenever you sample a real song there's a good chance someone else has used it before, but the chances of you changing that sample to the same pitch and tempo as another producer is very slim
This track is legendary , definitely one of my favorite records
didn’t vinylz claim he stole the beat from him? seems weird to give him an episode
Word From Willie doesn't mean it's true there's millions of beats on UA-cam with this sample in it way before either one of them sampled it. So both of them are in the wrong fighting over someone else's music.
Quadry Holloman I understand what you mean however in this case I think its different. Vinylz presented enough reasonable information to lead to believe this producer stole this beat. In fact Vinylz has writing credits on this song even though he wasn’t involved and thats how they settled this. This wasn’t even just the same sample, this guy stole this beat. Really not cool.
Quadry Holloman foreign teck Admitted to it on twitter 😂😂😂😂
Word From Willie yeah but if he stole it...how could he even do this episode and breakdown everything????????
TEA TIME OH he stole it as in remade the exact same beat he heard from Vinyl and Boi-1da. He admitted it on Twitter
This song is a high school classic. Beautiful ❤️
Charles Hamilton sampled this first for Brooklyn GIrls
wifimanboy idk how everyone misses this point
That's where I first heard this from
And killed the production way harder imo
The original "Boonk Gang"
Haha
🤣🤣🤣
🤣
I’m simple, I see Bryson Tiller. I click
I only ask for one thing and one thing only Genius. Show mw how London made Roll in peace
Yall complaining bout him stealing the beat
If this beat was neva made then Bryson woulda neva made Exchange
I have been waiting a long time for this 🔥🔥
Wasn't this beat stolen
It was stolen from G Money
+Jarvo it was stolen upvote people need to know this. Shout out G Money on production
it was not stolen they just used the same sample😂😂
not the sample... the actual beat was stolen by another producer who made it before him
wat
is that french montana son? dope beat thoo
The comments finna be filled wit "this nigga admitted he stole the beat" or "he didnt even make this beat"
nah they stole it from him, that was him forgiving them
This has honestly been my favorite deconstructed video so far
lets not forget that the beat was stolen from g money... not from cole cuz the dejavu is different but the one stolen from g money is proved to be stolen and theres a vid provin it
*Edit: I went back to see G Moneys vid and I see what u guys who disagreed are talkin about*
Young Benji Beats you're not wrong but to me I feel it doesn't sounds right without Bryson on the track.
Young Benji Beats FACTS
young benji... facts.. the beat was stolen
Lol
You guys are so ignorant if you dont know shit about producing the stfu, this sample is on youtube anybody can download it and make a beat, thats what g money did and this is not the first time producers use the same sample, look up Drake- Porland and ChrisBrown- Tone it down. Same sample different drums.
The Making of Bryon Tiller's "Exchange" stolen from G-MONEY | Demonitized
Its not the same beat tho its a complete different vibe its just the same samples
@@LeonBounceDmusica but it actually basically is
Michael White Trapsoul was released first so I’m confused
Um, Boi1da and Vinylz called him out over this beat... awkward
Edit: Much respect to him for squashing the misunderstanding in this video again
I’ve been waiting for so lawwwwwwng
so glad you guys addressed the stealing aspect
*steal it from your mate who made it for a j.cole beat*
Lewis Phillips for real
Go listen to shawty so cold g money they stole this from g money
The way he put that beat together off a 5 second snipet is insane
Now we need Deja Vu breakdown. Get it? 😭🤣
I love these video. What a skill to have, this is art man
About 3 or 4 years late
2 years late
You’ll be mad when you see the day n nite one lol
Thank you very much for uploading this guys :D, i really love this song and the beat :D
What about Cole tho?
OMG I WAS WAITING FOR THIS FOR SOOO LOOONG, hopefully one day i ll get here, in 2 months i already got ft. with big singers
This took too long😭😭
This is my favourite fucking series on UA-cam. Thanks so much for these.
I swear those noises in the first few seconds are from drakes "well be fine"
Luck yep
Oh my bad he literally said it during the video loool
3:59 he explains.
If he wouldn’t have hit next that beat possibly wouldn’t have been a hit. Gods plan🙏🙏
Y'all forgetting Charles Hamilton's "Brooklyn Girls" from 2009?
Uses the same sample from K.P. & Envyi.
brysonnnnn!😍
Genius still showing producers the love !!!
Song makes me cry almost every time I hear it cause of an ex. I love this song! Still my fav till this day
I love this song
even though he stole this happy he did because we would of never got this amazing song 🔥👏🏽
Some of ya'll must of forgotten that Charles Hamilton already had this sample on 'Brooklyn girls". But "Exchange" has more of a relaxing feel. I like both either way.
The beat came out SICK😍... When it came out just listening to it gave me that freaky goosebumps type of chills😜🙌
Wasnt there beef with j coles producer and this guy
This beat is legendary
this is great. he is extremely talented & i love bryson❤️
2022 still classic reference for FL. Anyone download FL 21 yet? It’s awesome!
Beta
Who else listened to exchange after this video
The kick was just simple and still crazzyyy on this melody🔥🌊
Truly an art. If you’re gonna make music with this type of tech, do it with this much detail.
Didn’t he steal this beat
Michael Scott i think it was the other way around
Michael Scott stole the beat from vinylz and boi 1 da. Dude was lying the whole video
So much creativity man into these beats and there only on their way to getting better. Good shit
Stolen from G Money
Omega SMG yeah new producer watch UA-cam producers and steal shit
Bro its just the same sample
@@LeonBounceDmusica same drum pattern as well
Thank you for this 😌 my favorite song in the entire world
Next Video:The Making of Deja Vu with Boi 1da
HorseMeat faqs
Been waiting🌊
Every time I hear that sample my soul melts 😫
J cole had it first. Recognize
J Cole's producers had it first. J Cole didn't do shit. You can't steal a sample you dumb shit.
G Money had it first
Jaiko dumbass he stole the whole beat and changed it a little
G MONEY HAD IT FIRST . Recognize
Slap it.
Bruh he worked on that sample until he got them hats out the way much respect and credit to dude
i've been wondering how to get the hats out of samples damn he did a perfect job
my goal is to be on one of these episodes.
this sample is legendary
wasn’t J Cole’s beat made first tho?
yes, was supposed to go on Forest Hills Drive, but they tucked it for 4YEO
Erik Perez Supposedly Boi1da made the beat and this nigga stole it. Probably all said in this video was lies lol
@@jjavierdr thought it was vinylz?
@@eros3639 both of them
this is literally the most genius genius deconstructed video i've seen. i slept on this one.
Do a Charles Hamilton- Brooklyn girls ... 1st time I heard that sample
im really looking forward for daniel caesar's get you tho
This my favorite deconstruction video
The real question is did he get paid
Of course
But did the original producer get paid tho?
These are my favourite on youtube.. Shout out to Genius for this, i swear to God
huh... i thought deja vu and exchange used the same beat on purpose 😂😂😂
edit: 76 likes... i feel special
A Stacks lol rs
They producers used. The same sample but Cole had the song deja Vu before tiller Cole was going to put it on 2014 FHD but it didn't have the right feel he said
Me too
stop editing your comment no one gives a fuck about 76 likes lmao
Wow. Great find, Bro! One of my favorite songs and tracks!
Props to this man for giving props to Johnny Juliano 3:48
Fuck Love is next !!!!! Please
this is highkey the best video series genius has
Wasn’t the beat stolen from G Money he has a video on it
5261998 he doesn't have rights to the samplevso no
Yung 4 nobody has rights it's in public domain sooo your comment is void
Is this the same sample from Charles Hamilton - Brooklyn Girls?
Shawty so cold ?? 🤷🏽♀️
“When I first heard this beat, I just knew I had to remake it.”
Still waiting for metro...
Thanks Genius! I love these videos. I love this song
This beat breaks my heart, really, sooooo moving
THIS>any of internet money's tutorials
Benji Franklins Music What?
If you're a struggling producer( like me) you would know. Internet Money is a yt channel that consists of producers that give tutorials. However, their tutorials suck because they only use 1 Vst which is omnisphere and dont really teach much with their lack of versatility.
Mad props to this gentleman for a very articulate explanation. Great job notching out those hats too!
