Should be in Wi like 2ft snow with 4-5 ft drifts would stop that record real fast

If you’ve ever driven a large tractor fast you know how quick that actually is, 25 mph in a large 4 wheel drive feels like you’re about to lift off the ground

It doesn't look like it's actually plowing snow. The overhead shots show it driving along the path which was already plowed.

Can you compare normal tractor and truck? Tractors normally go like 25-30mph (40-50kmh) when trucks go 60mph (100kmh) so i wouldnt compare them together.

What is the highest speed for manned snow plowing? I feel like 73 Km/H is not that much, considering Trucks on the german Autobahn run at least 80 Km/H. And someone probably forgot to lift his shield when he went back to the Autobahnmeisterei...
But its a bit different thing with a truck rather than tractor with usual top speed at 50kmh on the new models

What happened is they accidentally drifted off and plowed a little snow and it couldn't handle it. Cool record and all, but it doesn't count as snow plowing if you're just scraping a plowed road...

Without a driver they dont. It is a record WITHOUT a driver.
But it wasn't plowing any snow. It was going in the already plowed lane. When it tried to plow it spun out and almost tipped over.

45 MPH is not very impressive considering that DOT plow trucks regularly plow at that speed or greater literally almost everywhere.
Hell, I've seen trains with plows on them that go that fast.
And why the unmanned gimmick? Probably only because that is one of the key features of that "record" that most people would not have the time, ability, or even desire to duplicate.

the tractor spinned around because it didn't have proper tires, not enough grip in that shit without studs or chains.
Those tires are made for snow and ice. The spin was more likely because of hard snow or ice bump hitting to the plow. Chains wont work on those speeds, they will just flap around and break the fenders.
@@o_ra1572 that is why it shoulda had studs in the tires. all plowing tractors here in norway almost uses nokian tri 2 with studs

Don't you actually have to be plowing something for it to be a plowing record.... this is just "reaching top speed with front attachment on".
This same tractor has a top speed of 130 kph so I guess there was some purpose with that plough while they tried it unmanned. At least it kept it from tipping over if not else.

Need some clarification on that record. 73km/hr is only about 45 MILES per hour. Maybe the record is for a TRACTOR plowing snow or an UNMANNED plow or an UNMANNED TRACTOR.
