    What do you guys think about this Micro3? What do you like the most? Any other things you want to see from Zeapon in the future?

      Dear, I have the micro 2, the shorter manual version, fantastic smooth but my shots always have a banana effect. It's impossible to maintain the horizon, and I use the TX3 with prime lens, a very light setup. Do you have suggestions? It's unusable 😢

    Wonderful updates to make a pro line of sliders. Still quite reasonable considering the competition at this level. It would be nice if they opened up their api for the app to allow 3rd party camera control apps to synchronise with the slider and pons in to do some complex camera movements. Thanks. I will stick with my 2nd gen slider for now

    • @TheRealRichardWong
      @TheRealRichardWong  2 роки тому +1

      Hey Barry, open up API would be cool, but i do wonder if there is enough demand to justify the effort for them too doo that. Unless everythinig was written in a way that has a well defined API from the start (which i doubt), it would involve quite a bit of cost to do that.

    • @barryobrien1890
      @barryobrien1890 2 роки тому +2

      @@TheRealRichardWong if they want to grow the product line, having an open api to control the slider and pons over Bluetooth would allow for a lot of advance features such as focus pulling while moving, timelapse exposure ramping etc
      The protocol to the slider is already available over Bluetooth, and could be incorporated in 3rd party apps, or they could allow other app to send commands to the slider through their app. While the volume may not be high, there are other sliders that integrate with stacking and panoramic timelapse apps. Might be worthwhile for the high end unit

    Just received my Micro2 Plus E600 from Amazon today - I think it came with the wrong support arms, they don't fit into the socket. Not really a fan of the "ball and socket" design, either. Found your video and ordered the Micro3 E700 instead. Definitely prefer having 1/4" or 3/8" mounts on both ends, rather than just in the middle. With the weight of the pan/tilt heads plus a camera, I'd like the option of have two tripods. Thanks for the video!

    • @TheRealRichardWong
      @TheRealRichardWong  2 роки тому

      hi Brandon, thanks for watching. The Micro3 is definitely a big and very sensible improvement over the E600! Re the arms, the E600 arm does require a bit of force to push into the socket. but i agree the new 1/4" or 3/8" thread mount is much better. Enjoy your E700

    Looks nice. And am tempted to buy one, but need a physical control able to direct both the motorized slider and the PONS pan head. Apps are so unreliable. Having to program the slider and pan head separately is not optimal. - Great review.

      @@TheRealRichardWong Apps always make me nervous with products like these. They're almost always buggy and you never know how long it will be supported for. I wish there was a slider system similar to the ifootage shark nano. Physically set the parameters without using controls, but using the actual camera, and pressing a button to lock in waypoints.

    Thanks so much for the in-depth overview and even showing us the speed differences which I always wonder about! 💚 Thanks for being honest about buggy app, the noise levels, and the slow speed being a bit too fast. Glad the fast speed is faster but bummed the slow speed is too fast and that even normal speed is noisy. Thankfully you have more options for slowing the speed on the app.
    Would've liked to see you show the speed you can move the slider at when you remove the motor. Are you able to move it rather quickly or is it faster with the motor installed on high?
    I have been waiting for reviews, or any videos really, on this slider before I made an order. Not sure as an ambassador if you're able to test other systems, but if you ever get your hands on YC Onion's Chocolate Pro motorized slider I would love to see a comparison review. As I've been stuck between that and this slider.

    • @TheRealRichardWong
      @TheRealRichardWong  2 роки тому +1

      Yes even though i don't call this a review, but I really want to be as honest and fair as possible, just like my other reviews. If you remove the motor, you can move it much much faster, basically it is just a manual slider, a very nice smooth one.
      Zeapon is actually not strict at all about what I can do, test or say about their products or competitor's. YC Onion has also contacted me not too long ago as well and asked if i want to check out their sliders. But I feel it is a bit conflict of interest if ask them to send me a sample for a review when I'm the ambassador of Zeapon so i declined their offer.

    • @TheRealRichardWong
      @TheRealRichardWong  2 роки тому +1

      hi KK, this is a very good question! But also a tough question too. The longer the slider, the more freedom you have for your timelapse as you can move the camera a lot more. But on the other hand, I personally prefer a shorter slider as i can carry it around easier, even put it in a (big) camera bag. So it really depends on what is more important to you :)

    We recently bought the micro3 e1000 slider and got reallty disappointed by the performance.
    The slider bends while the camera travels from end so we end uo having a tilting horizon in the shots. that's not something we expected, expecially because the maximum payload should be 12kg and our camera+accessories was just 4-5kg!
    Did you ever notice such problem?
    I've seen cheeper sliders not having this kind of issues. We contacted Zeapon support but still no answer...

    • @TheRealRichardWong
      @TheRealRichardWong  Рік тому

      hi there,are you using a single tripod? Because of the really long travel distance and weight of the camera gear, as the track is extended, it is unavoidable your tripod mount would lean towards one side. This is not so much the slider , but the tripod itself. There are a few things you could do to improve:
      1. Make sure your ground is solid. It may sound crazy but the weight of the setup actually could actually tilt the whole tripod when the ground is not solid enough
      2. Use the support rod that came with your E1000 slider. And secure/lock it to the tripod legs
      3. Use two tripods/lightstand and set them to exact same height.
      Option number 3 is the best.. but I got good results by doing number 1 and 2.

      Hi! Ive been using the slider on top of a very sturdy desk, so no tripod at all. The problem is probably in the design of the slider, as I read in few other comments on the web. I still don't get how they can put on the market a product with a serious problem such this one. That's sad beacuse other than that (and the loud noise it makes) it looked like something very well built for its price range. @@TheRealRichardWong

      @piernicolaarena9361 I wanted to buy their new slider - Axis, but we didn't have them here in Australia, so I gave Micro3 a try (before I read about this issue you and other reviewers discovered).
      Today, I received the slider and had a quick look; they seem to have fixed this problem by replacing those tiny wheels with some thicker support plates.
      I have not used it to record a video yet, but I don't see the bending toward the sides.

    Very closed ecosystem. I love their sliders but their app are attrocious. Still no "ramping" setting when the slider starts or ends or makes a transition between the points in Pons PT and Micro 3?! Such a simple feature, that's requested practiaclly on every UA-cam video I've watched and still no development. That's what it keeps me from getting deeper in Zeapon's ecosystem.

    If anyone is reading this - DO NOT buy this slider. The slider is defective by design. I bought it 2 weeks ago and I got only problems so far. The support team made me do 20 videos and then stopped responding for 7 days already.|
    The slider shakes when goes through the middle section and that's by design. There are no support wheels on this model and that's the cause (Micro 2 also had this issue but the support wheels are able to fix it)
    Again, DO NOT buy Micro 3 (any model). Also the motor is very, very loud (the support told me it sounds normal to them, so it's not defective).
