This video is on my Vw Scirocco mk3 LED Headlight bulb upgrade. How to fit LED headlight bulbs and how good are they as well.
This are perfect fit that doesn't require any adapters. I got my ones from #carmodshop

Interesting about the MOT.
I had mine yesterday and have a 2009 Scirocco which came with halogens. MOT Tester said they are fine as long as the beam pattern is ok and I got a pass. Maybe you just need to be friendly with the testers; like the guys with decat exhausts!
Haha yeah I think he probably haven't had his brain smashed yet by the manager or dvla... or simply haven't seen the special notice on the system
I have NightEye at the moment and the error sign has stayed but the lights are amazing . Are these more brighter & whiter??

Well done mate. I will be looking in to upgrading everything on my one as well tk be honest. Unfortunately fog lights on my one is an aftermarket fit as its not original bumper and wiring isn't there.
Hello, i have also a VW Scirocco 2009 and i order this specific bulbs but i have changed my headlights with valeo aftermarket and does not fit!

Tried a set of G3's in mine. Both installed correctly. Poor beam pattern, minimal cut off.
Beam was higher than halogen (like yours is too), lowered it and the full beam was too low.
Are they sitting incorrectly? Not hitting black plastic around it? Clipped in in the way? Adjuster working fine though?
Is you headlight lense OK?
I can't get them to fit in my headlights?😭. It's a 2011 tsi GT
Can you make a driving comparison at night with LED/Halogen? I wonder how the led performs compared with oem xenon.
I will look in to Halogen. But unfortunately I havent got halogen kit for now. I can make a video on what the led ones are like

Just got a scirocco planning to do this asap just wondering how do these go with a mot as don’t want to have to keep changing it for mot?

Mot side of things is 50-50.
Some pass it some don't.
Reading the rules it technically should fail due to the headlight not being designed for it. So most people just swap them before mot
I have the 2013 Scirocco, however the light bulbs from the headlights is different from yours. Mine has a square base on the bottom and has a connector on one of the 4 sides, not round like yours. Does that mean this LED wouldn't fit into my headlights?

There is slightly different light units, might be face-lift ones.
In that case o would suggest you to contact carmodshop and just double check it please.
Hey! nice video, really appreciate your work. But, i have little question. Week or two ago, I converted plate lights to LED, trunk and all interior lights to LED ones. Yesterday, i came to my scirocco and it wouldn’t start as always (immediately), it took like 4-5 sec to start up. Right after the check light came on and so did I discovered, that my front headlight is not working. Could it has been a coincidence or can the LED lights harm the car electrical system somehow? Sorry, i’m not into electricity😄 thank you for your answer in advance!🙏🏻

So far never heard of that to be honest. Obviously make sure that the headlight bulb fans are not blocked or wiring isn't stopping them spinning for cooling it down.
But I never heard them causing an issue before

Well it fails MOT if they are there at the moment of the test. After the test that is up to you... haven't heard of police stopping anyone yet.
What about rear LED upgrades?

Do they dip if you scroll the button down to adjust the beam height?
They are adjusting properly when you change the setting. Go down and up according to the position you selected.

Does the headlight not have a reflector that’s only meant for halogen? For example some cars you would need projector when using LED as the light pattern would be bad when using in the reflector lights which are for halogen? I have 2015 1.4 scirocco and using LED and the light pattern is awful
Hi there. Yes it has got a reflector but the beam pattern is great. I have checked it on mot station with headlight alignment tool..
What can cause a bad pattern is if the headlight being old or needing a polish.
In this case with this bulbs I had no issue mate.

The one I got in video and link don't need any adaptors mate :)
What's the wire attached to the bulbs in the link? They look different to what you're fitting
It's the upgraded units for the more recent units to avoid the error message

Have you got the item of the link?
Check the connection properly as it does need turning quite a bit to make proper contact. I has my one not working properly and that was due to not being locked in fully.

Just wires, they have something metal on the end but nothing that connects to it

Stupid question, but why do you only replace one bulb? What is the purpose of the second h7 bulb you didn't replace per headlight?
Thats not stupid question mate. I will be replacing that soon as well. For now only wanted to try the headlight dipped beam as they are not cheap.

Mainly to make it easier and show you what is happening inside the headlight and hot it sits on there. To make it easier to explain :)

Yes mate. As long as the pattern is right and it adjust well its all good.
MOT tester can't take cover off to look at the bulb itself.

Too bad it's not legal in Germany. OSRAM anderen PHILIPS have some solution ,but not for Scirocco yet .
That is a shame. We'll LED are illegal in UK now for the MOT unfortunately.
IMPORTANT MESSAGE!
Due to all this Brexit situation -.- they have changed rules to MOT system... as of 21st of January 2021
Section 4.1.4 now states the following:
“Existing halogen headlamp units should not be converted to be used with high intensity discharge (HID) or light emitting diode (LED) bulbs. If such a conversion has been done, you must fail the headlamp.”
This is a brand new update that seems to only focus on headlights.
There are no mentions to fail other LED bulbs such as brake lights, tail lights or reversing lights.
So from that statement it will fail an MOT now if you change them to LED units in your headlights only. You are still able to use them, but legaly only off road use.
