    I remember in the old sealed beam days that you could buy the entire sealed glass unit for 7 bucks at most any local store & they were very easy to remove & replace. New replacement headlights cost hundreds to replace & is typically a huge PITA job. Progress??

    Another good strategy I used on head or tail lights as shown on 7:15 is I used a tiny drill bit and drilled a tiny hole in the light so all that water can come out.

    I'm talking about the headlight that filled up with water. How I fix that one time was find the lowest spot on the headlight and from underneath drill a tiny little hole with a drill bit period and then go up a little bit higher make sure it's on the bottom underneath and drill one more little tiny hole. It was happening so bad and one of my trucks that I would hit a bump and water would Splash up and blow the bulb out, after I drill those two little holes and never condensated again

    • @zahimiibrahim3602
      @zahimiibrahim3602 Рік тому

      You could drill a bigger hole but stuff a bit of Scotch Brite in it to stop bugs from entering.

Literally the next day I go too turn them on and they didn’t work, I get home only too find out that both of the bulbs actually popped and the glass shattered everywhere. I got some condensation / fog inside my brand new aftermarket headlights. thing is, I only drove it around my garage for about 20 min before it built up some sort of fog. no raid, outside temp was 5+ Celsius. it disappeared after about 1-2h inside the garage.
    should i use some silicone on top of the seal on the edges or what is causing this? Or will there be no problems during summer?
    The new headlights uses HID and a LED DRL

    Great video except that the vents are to allow pressure equalisation not to let heat out. Unfortunately it can also let water in.
    There is something you can do about it though. Heat up the headlamp with a hair dryer and then let it completely cool -do this 4 or 5 times and you can drive all the water out through the vents.

    Hi there! One of the headlights in my car has condensation for over 3 months I guess.. it is not going away.. when I start my car the condensation increases a lil bit in other areas but turning it off and after a while only the older condensation remains.. how to sort this?

    • @1AAuto
      @1AAuto  4 роки тому

      +Syed Elham Thanks for checking us out. It seems like there may be a fault seal somewhere. To get this fixed you could either attempt to drain out all of the condensation and try to find the leaking area or you can get a new assembly. 1aauto.com

    • @tubqhe
      @tubqhe 2 роки тому

      Sometimes purchasing a new replacement assembly will not solve the issue if the defect comes from the manufacturer itself aka manufacturer using poor quality seals. Had that happened to me before three times with one whereby I had to use permatex clear sealant to seal all the way around the assembly and that solved it. If pooling inside rotate assembly all the way around to find where leaks are coming from and seal that spot

    So how do I prevent condensation?

    • @1AAuto
      @1AAuto  3 роки тому

      +Daniel D.P Since headlights generate heat, they need to be ventilated, which means that they have small vents that can suck in moisture when the car is turned off. If the outer lens cools more quickly than the air inside the headlight unit, it can cause condensation. There is no real way to prevent condensation as this is directly correlated with the weather and usage of the vehicle.
