I have about 30 hrs on one of these and they cut good and are fast with a hydrostat transmission. I have a grapple on the front of the tractor as well and together you can cut and stack cedars out of your fields pretty fast. While they work best on tree's up to about 15" in diameter, I did cut one Honey Locust down that measured 30" diameter at the cut. I cut from 3 directions and then easily pushed it over with the grapple.
Cedars grow fast and it is hard to keep them cleared out of pastures. This saw will do it on a smaller, more fuel efficient tractor and with a grapple it's fast and economical.
On the roots comments below, if you pull the cedars out then have to make another pass to fill the holes. For grazing and hay there is no need to pull the roots, they will rot away in a few years. If your going to till then a dozer to get roots and all is probably the way to go.

Did you cut any hardened stumps other harder trees? Thanks for your reply.

Be nice if you made a push mower type for use in wooded areas with under 3" dia trees.

what with the size of these trees - it would be better to pull them up with the roots

There are best for Eastern Red Cedar which you cannot pull up by the roots.

Cedar wont grow back from the root anyways. Once you cut it its dead. This machine cuts close to the ground so no stump sticking up. Cedar stumps rot out quick anyway.

WOULDN'T BE MORE ECONOMICAL TO TO PURCHASE A NEW BROWN TREE CUTTER, AT LEAST YOU COULD GO ON AND MULCH WHAT EVER YOU CUT RIGHT ON UP, JUST SAYING

Brown tree cutter is only good up to 8", this one does 12". also brown tree cutter costs twice as much(or more) and leaves a six to eight inch stump. So is it easier to stack the trees and burn them later with the turbo saw, or buy a stump grinder to finish the job with the brown... I think the turbosaw is the easier and more economic choice...
