    "Complain? Why? Give me the next one too!" Hinata is just thankful for all the sets he get in the game. I remember how he had to do all sorts of favors just to have his friends set to him back in middle school.

      Well Kageyama is referring to the moment he backed down from trying to do the falling toss. Where Hinata did in fact complain. But the difference is Hinata will graciously accept every set if he knows his setter did everything he could to get it to him, even if it goes awry. But if Kageyama was holding back or playing safe, then he would complain for sure.

    Don't think they mentioned it in the anime, but Asahi clenching and unclenching his fist is a trick Ukai taught him to get rid of excess tension before serving (gymnasts&swimmers do smth similar but with their shoulders)!
    Here's something important the anime kinda-sorta missed cause of differences in the mediums: when Tanaka thinks about his need to live up to Kageyama's trust in him, in kanji they had the word "threat", but furigana said "trust". So Tanaka might've thought "trust", but there was this very clear underlying ~threat~ that the author wanted everyone to be aware of (Kageyama's face there is a statement on its own too lol). In this case, the official translation is actually kinda nice: "That wasn't some encouragement. That was a threat. He was saying, 'Show them why I have faith in you'". Seeing your guys' joy at Kageyama's arc paying off so well was immensely satisfying!
    The thought of the staff hiring Oikawa's VA just for a couple of grunts/screams in the entire season cracks me up to this day :"D But it's also interesting to remember that way back in like S2 we had a flashback training scene where Kindaichi asked Oikawa to ease up on some difficult toss, and after listening to him, Oikawa still insisted that they try it, eventually making it a success. He gave Kageyama the advice he needed at the time, but yeah, Kageyama took it way too close to heart and it became a bit of a bad habit.
    Kita's rant about geniuses is wonderful. Interestingly enough, at the very beginning the author planned on having a rather typical "natural genius" narrative, but eventually realized what Kita was talking about here (how they aren't born this way) and how Oikawa was just making excuses in middle school. So they ended up reworking their approach to the topic.

      As an additional fun fact for your Tanaka explanation: the OST that plays there is called "The Threat of Trust," a nice callback to the original intent in the manga.

    Also the fact kita was talking about talent and geniuses, the same ep oikawa appeared in. oikawa in middle school has always complained how people like ushiwaka are way better than him, and later in the anime, he was called to be someone who's not a genius. Later proving in their last match against karasuno that he has exceeded his limits as a setter. He's just as crazy as those other players he feels inferior to.

    The Serene King is the mixture of Oikawa and Atsumu, filtered through Kageyama's own genius. Oikawa: give the spikers the sets they want to bring out their best. Atsumu: give the best sets that only an idiot can't hit.
    It's really funny to see that his seniors/rivals/idols/reluctant mentors are so antagonistic towards him, through no fault of his own, who end up pushing him to greater strengths.

    Kita’s monologue shows the central theme of this entire series, which is that geniuses are not born, they are made by their LOVE of volleyball. This is why it’s so important to note how the series said Osamu was naturally more gifted than Atsumu, but Atsumu surpassed Osamu because he was told by his brother “you love volleyball a smidge more than I do.”

    Oikawa's humming is a song called "Paprika" that was popular among children at the time the anime was aired🤣 Kita-san words are very deep. Results are important in sports, and both Karasuno and Inarizaki play games thinking, "We don't need memories."「思い出なんかいらん」 (I heard that in English, "memories" have several meanings. In Japanese...memories = making good memories...I don't know maybe like this🤔?) On top of that,Kita-san words are wonderful because he is people who value the process!And, as you say, the words and actions of the first half of the season will be connected in the second half of the season! The interaction between Kageyama and Hinata at the end is also wonderful! I like how they put pressure on each other no matter how good they get. I'm sorry if my interpretation or translation is wrong. Your reactions are so much fun! Today is also "satisfying"! The countdown has started on the official website! Excited(◍•ᴗ•◍)

      及川の鼻歌はアニメ放送当時子どもに流行っていた「パプリカ」という曲です🤣北さんの言葉はとても深いです。 スポーツにおいて結果が大事で、烏野も稲荷崎も「私たちは思い出なんかいらん」と思って試合をしています。 (英語だと「思い出」にはいくつかの意味も含まれると聞きました。日本語だと…思い出=良い思い出作り?のような意味です…)その上で北さんは特に過程を大事にしてる人の言葉だからこそすばらしいものにします。 そして、あなた達が仰るとおりシーズン前半の言葉や行動がシーズン後半になって繋がります。 最後の影山と日向のやりとりもすばらしい! 彼らがどんなに上手くなってもお互いプレッシャーを与る存在なのが好きです。 私の解釈や、翻訳が違っていたらすいません。 今日も"satisfying"! 公式ホームページにカウントダウンが始まりました! わくわく!

    Atsumu didn't try to mess with Kageyama's head. He actually tried to help him (in a harsh way). Think about it: would Kageyama have improved so much without the "goody-two-shoes" statement ?

    • @AllTheArtsy
      @AllTheArtsy 2 роки тому +5

      @@AllTheArtsy I think He was just as blunt as Kageyama usually is. For exemple, if any player had told Kageyama the line He said to Sakusa (“you seem normal so far”), people might think that they’re messing with Kageyama. Yet we know that Kageyama didn’t say it to be snarky, but because He’s just blunt and speak frankly. And I think that’s the exact same with Atsumu.

    Kita (Inarizaki's Cap) is my second favorite character of Haikyuu.
    Despite him being a secondary character, the way he is written, is alone a masterpiece.
    Sincerely it might be overextanded but he changed my own real life, his way of thinking and approching things made me think about myself, about how I look at the world and my own action.
    He made me changed myself to work on me and my mental and I think having that kind of reflexion from an sport anime/manga is brilliant.
    Sometimes you might think that teh result aren't what you wanted it to be, but looking behind you, you can see what you achieve to come to this result, what path you take and all the effort you pursued. And now I think it's the most important, even if the result isn't what you hoped for, you can be proud of yourself for trying continuously, for making your way to it.
    And for me that's a mindset that feels much more valuable than being scared of what obstacles you will encounter, or feeling inferior of some people because you see them better than you are.
    Kita taught me that when I read the manga and I'm working on myself to follow this path in my daily life.
    Sorry for that phylosophical paragraphe, but I needed to point out how well this character is written !

    Season 4 is really the weakest of them all in pacing for sure. This episode and the upcoming ones are really really good, but 19, 20 and 21 are really weak, borderline filler. • @BOLDcast
      @BOLDcast  2 роки тому +7

      I actually kinda agree. I wouldn’t go as far as saying the episodes were filler, but they were mostly comprised of material meant to fill in the gaps between big moments, if you break each episode down scene by scene it just is what it is.
      Once ep22 rolls around, things get down to business, but before that, they were clearly stretching out the material. That’s said, this whole arc is still incredible and miles ahead of most anime you could choose to watch
