Looks so good! Did you have to do anything with back camera, Does it not impede view? I saw another video tail light bar where his install, he had to remove a couple panels near the camera in order to install
Thanks! No modifications to the camera or any other part of the trunk are needed. You can see a slight arc of the light bar in the top of the reversing camera screen but nothing that blocks anything important. It almost acts like a visor and help cuts down glare. You may have seen someone install one on a 3IS (2015-2018), as I believe they need to modify the camera and replace panels on those. These models however don't require anything like that.
Great product love em. After install Im getting my traction and brake light on and a code saying open circuit in stop light switch circuit. Did I mis connect something?
This has happened a few times so far, including to one of my own cars ('08 Lexus IS-F). It only seems to affect some cars but is easily fixable. You need to use a 10w 39ohm resistor on each tail light harness and that'll get rid of the code for having a short in the brake light circuit. All of my IS350s have been fine without one, and so have my friend's '09 and '11 IS-Fs so it seems to only affect certain model years. On the tail light harness the positive wire is red and the negative is black. Once you wire the resistor to each tail light the problem will vanish. Feel free to message me on Instagram if you need any help: @Lexus.Trilogy
@@Cordia4G63T so we need to attach this resistor on the taillight cable or the brake light cable? And does one end of the resistor cable go on the red positive and the other on ground yes? They dont seem to have a rubber gasket around them to protect agaisnt water like Vland or OEM have ,lets see how they age. If you want your 2is to not look like a 2is this are the best tailights to get for sure
Correct, no rubber gasket required. HC Motion tail lights don't have a rubber seal either. I have had 3 sets of those on different IS models over the years, with and without the rubber strip and none of them have ever leaked. With the way they seal them in the factory these days the seal is no longer required.
Hi, I’m having a hard time getting the long middle light bar to go in. Am I suppose to flex it and pull it get it to line up? I’ve installed v land and hc motions before. I’m just not why it’s not going in. Did I miss a step?
I mentioned it in the video - you need to place it evenly on the trunk. Make sure the studs on one side aren't completely through the holes otherwise you'll struggle to get the other side it. Allow the studs to poke through just a little bit and then do the other side. The whole lightbar will then drop evenly in place.
I'm not the manufacturer, just a Lexus owner, but there's no clear version of these. At least not yet anyway, not sure if they're planning to make one in future like what exists for the 3IS.
Beautiful car man, I recently installed these on my 2007 Lexus is250 and makes it look newer. I have a question about the 4is style headlights on your car, when installing them did you get hyperflash on the turn signals? I installed them on my car and got hyperflash. I checked the connections and pulled the fuses it said to do but still hyperflash.
Cheers man. I have never had any hyper flashing issues from the headlights and I've had 3 sets of them so far. I believe some US models suffer from this but mine are all Japanese imports. You would likely need to install an adjustable flasher relay, which can be bought on eBay or Amazon. Should fix the problem.
@@Cordia4G63Tthank you man for responding, I just ordered the relay, I'll keep you updated. Also, how do you have the check as a DRL on the headlights?
@@yoadrian300 no worries. The check mark operates as a DRL by hooking up the included harness and fuse tap to the fusebox in the engine bay. Comes on as soon as the ignition is on and dims to half brightness with the park lights or low beams.

This is quite common on early model IS-Fs. Happened to my 2008. You need to add a 10w 39ohm resistor to each outer tail light. Hi guys! I just installed the archaic direct lights and happen to get 2 codes after install. I have the ABS and brake system warning lights turn on. Did you have any similar issue? What should I look at to resolve these issue?
This affects certain model years and different markets (and also happens with other brands such as HC Motion) but luckily is easy to fix. @@Cordia4G63T This pro tip here is a lifesaver. I connected these resistors to each taillight wiring. The faulty codes are gone. Now the car thinks the OEM taillights are connected. And all is good. Thank you very much again.
Yes this was something that someone else brought up with theirs after the video was made. It only affects the 06 & 07 models as they have two metal tabs in the trunk light opening, which prevents the side of the light bar from sliding in. You'll need to get a pair of pliers or some vice grips and bend the tabs inwards. You can put a cloth/towel over the tab first so you don't chip the paint but they are very easy to bend and serve no purpose. 08+ models don't have those tabs.
