I got laid off several years ago from Wells Fargo even though I had the highest customer service scores in the district. I was laid off because of not meeting quotas because I refused to open up new accounts and force older people into doing so when their current accounts worked fine. Ralph Smith you're right. Funny thing too, well over a decade ago I grew up across the street from an extremely high level Wells employee; back then they were still Norwest Bank. He was a man of incredible integrity and he saw the "writing on the wall" even back then which is why he left the company. They became more focused on profits verses taking care of their customers which he didn't like. It's really too bad. It was once a good company, sadly no more.

When my Grandmother passed away she was on a fixed income had absolutely no money whatsoever. When I went to Wells Fargo to close her account I didn't understand for the life of me why she had 9 accounts. Multiple money market and savings accounts with absolutely nothing in them. Well now I know.

I'm from Australia but had something similar happen to my lovely grandma too (may she rip). Here, we have something called superannuation which employers deposit a small percentage of your salary so when you retire you have good retirement money. It's an excellent idea but funny thing my grandma didn't have any. Well, turns out the flipping bank stole it. So, my family quite upset and confused, got a random e-mail from man explaining he was an ex- bank worker (can't remember the extact title) and could get the money back. This man did this with his own accordance and wanted no payment for his efforts and helped us. This man like a literal batman or superman pressed the bank with phone calls and legal action so committed, they gave it back. I can't thank this man enough and we managed to get a loan for a home. Don't steal from people and more people should be this man who took time to help someone in need.

I was offered a Credit Card from a very famous bank and they gave me two options to tick, one was mandatory (to fetch my credit report) and one was optional (cross selling). The manager would try to convince you of ticking both the boxes despite only one being mandatory. Do NOT tick the cross selling a I didn't. That is a nightmare. Cross selling is a nightmare for consumers, and money tree for banks.

I got laid off several years ago from Wells Fargo even though I had the highest customer service scores in the district. I was laid off because of not meeting quotas because I refused to open up new accounts and force older people into doing so when their current accounts worked fine. Why this hate ? Banking provides valuable services and providing those services is not a charity. do you want to go back to hunter gatherer stage of civilization ? Do you know how much infrastructure is required just to validate , store and commit transactions and provide information security and physical security? The bigger the bank, the more capital to maintain it as well as comply with tons of regulations etc.
My wife works at a Wells Fargo bank and has been around co-workers who were fired for not opening enough accounts. She's even witness accounts being opened without the customer's knowledge. Credit cards, even. The management at these banks are continuously pushing her to meet higher and higher numbers for new accounts. I thought it was just the nature of commercial banking, but when it's used to inflate stock prices, I'm done. These aggressive tactics for a bank are beyond me. They have caused enough stress just upon the team members themselves, let alone customer's unacknowledged accounts to move a stock price. On a hopeful note, the "Sales Goals" that must be met by the tellers/bankers will be eliminated next year. Still, workers have been fired due to their goals not being met. Would that be another lawsuit on it's own?

I was scammed and cheated by Wells Fargo in a completely different way,
the common problem is that they politely make excuses, deny responsibility, and will not get any resolution from or with the bank company even if you file complaints or attempt to use the mediation process, because their people or people who are paid by Wells Fargo make the decisions and excuses. And so you have to waste time and more money with lawyers and the legal system or connect with political authority 🤔
