I grew up in Brooklyn, (park slope area) off of prospect park, and there are still today many wrought iron fences in front of these brownstone houses. These fences have a combination of elaborate designs of leaves, flowers and ornate gates as well. These iron fences are the Picasso’s of all fences! You can keep your pvc and wooden junk fences, the fences they make today are all crap compared to the beautiful designs and architect of these fantastic wrought iron. Save this craft and skill, don’t let it die out , ever! Please post more videos too. Thank you!
Now that is what you call a blacksmith. Years of hard work the knowledge and experience sure shows. Thank you for showing us your talents. A true professional at work.
I tried to call, but it seems this man may no longer be with us? or a sense of humor, his answering machine says he's no longer with us. If so, Thank you to his family for allowing this to stay up and sharing that knowledge.
The fabrication is very interesting, but look at those walls. I could spend a week looking at all that creation. To watch a master at work, what a pleasure.
Thank you for letting us see. most don’t want you to know anything and the trade is dying for the most part around here anyways.I find it funny how you say and that’s all it is to it like pouring a glass of milk lol you do make it look easy thanks again
Keep the Raleigh wrought iron works in business. We all support this wonderful craft. If me and my wife move to North Carolina, I would like to have my own design created and made myself. I will even draw my own designs. Joe and inga.
I would truly love to work in a business like this . I am always happy to see an overlooked craft and skill still being done the way wrought iron fence was intended to be . Thank you for sharing ..
coming from someone who just learned how to make scrolls and forge metal, your work is beautiful! I like your 2-step scroll dye and your old school auto hammer!
How lovely! Thanks for making this video, I'm having new iron railings and steps installed. I was curious as to how they were made. You do exquisite work!
Several years ago, they made me a custom wrought iron gate for my townhome's courtyard. It is gorgeous and I get so many compliments about it. I highly recommend their work !!
Thank you for sharing the video with all of us new to this art! I will keep watching so I can continue my learning career! Thank you Adam and Marcie From San Francisco California
Ma bucura sa vad cum munca unui conational este respectata, apreciata si platita la adevarata valoare. Va doresc multa sanatate, d-le Stelian Popa! Apreciez si ma abonez! Salutari din Romania!
I learned alot from this video. I want to get into ornamental iron as a hobby. It looks like I will need a few tools more than just an everlast welder to make some of the pieces!
Blacksmith work sure looks like fun but surely hard work. For now I'm happy making stuff from mild steel with my everlast welder and plasma cutter. Maybe I'll work myself up to forging and hammering iron.
Hi, great video and just beautiful work you do. This is way more than a skill, it is a great art form too. I'd love to watch this kind of work in person. You are so good at it, you make it look easy, but I know it is definitely not. Thank you for the video.
Very nice, good to see a man putting skin on steel to get the job done. Some places I have worked at they say you have to wear gloves every time you touch bare metal, it drives me crazy.
PPE? He has built in PPE! Here I am looking like a damn bomb defusing specialist trying to weld something 😅😅😅 excellent work! I wish you were in Vegas, I want my back gate replaced with this work of art...
I don’t understand why nobody is talking about the size of this man’s balls welding without gloves while spot holding the tacks!!! This man is a legend for sure!
Exactly why I looked at the comments section. I’ve never welded, and my first thought was, (The balls and skill this man has to have to weld with bare hands so close is astonishing.)
I have a wrought iron table that was stored in a damp place for several years & has become somewhat discolored. I'm wondering if there is any way to bring it back to its original black colored finish, without painting it? I love the piece & it is a work of art!
Arta in adevăratul sens al cuvântului ! Domnule Stelian imi puteți spune cum se determina unghiul unei balustrade in funcție de scara? Imi doresc sa imi confecționezi singur balustrada la o scara interioara

Beautiful work, simply fantastic. So much artistry and skill and sadly, most people often overlook this craft.
The fabrication is very interesting, but look at those walls. I could spend a week looking at all that creation. To watch a master at work, what a pleasure.
Blacksmiths a rare in these times. Machines taking over now, thanks for these video tho we can go back and learn all these methods.

Very nice. I am a beginner smith and hope to be able to do this sort of work someday. Thanks for makin this video.
you are welcome Frank
I like how you spend the time to finesse the volute curve and then to only throw them to the floor while the metal is still hot and malleable.
Thanks very much for generously showing us this process. I thoroughly enjoyed watching it.
I learned alot from this video. I want to get into ornamental iron as a hobby. It looks like I will need a few tools more than just an everlast welder to make some of the pieces!
