Blackbear calling his song Hot Girl Bummer is pretty much the music industry equivalent of clickbait. Who wants to bet he already wrote most of the song ahead of time and named it that after Hot Girl Summer came out for cheap publicity?
I'd say it's more like that time John Parr wrote a song about an epic song about an awe-inspiring wheelchair athlete but then a studio told him they'd pay him a lot of money if he changed the name to pair with some shitty movie they were making and thus Saint Elmo's Fire was born. Except this time everyone involved was a terrible person.

I feel like there's even a small possibility it may pass it for 2019's YE, but that may be wishful thinking on my part. That being said, it should easily coast the rest of the year off its residual momentum, get a position on next year's year-end list, and make the all-time list. (Assuming it doesn't suddenly crash at any point.)

Sadly it looks like Even Though I'm Leaving will probably get caught between years, which is really frustrating because this is probably my favorite country song to be a billboard hit since probably Blown Away 7 years ago.
If it gets caught between years (which is quite likely), I would be pissed. It's probably the best hit country song since Colder Weather in 2011 (which itself barely snuck on to the Year-End List).
My guess was that Even Though I'm Leaving was released September because Beer Never Broke My Heart was really losing its steam at that point (it dropped out a few weeks ago). I'm still hoping that album will keep ETIL high in the remaining weeks of the Hot 100 2019 year in order for it to have a slim chance of making it to the year end. Thanks Nashville.

@@crazyluigi6664 I said at the time Panini came out that it was the most soulless attempt to force a hit since 'Girls Like You' and I stand by that. Girls Like You did it via a celeb filled music video, a completely out of place rap feature and being so generic and boring that it was always destined for massive radio play. Panini went for streaming numbers instead; being deliberately short to increase streams (he tweeted that this was intentional, what self-respecting artist would say that?), having some sort of lyrical gimmick that didn't make any sense but was mildly quotable, the most generic trap beat you've ever heard, an attempted Travis Scott impression for the hook and of course now a remix (first of many I imagine). Both songs are utterly worthless because they are very rare examples of when songs are crafted specifically with chart impact in mind in every regard, rather than with what makes for a good song. I do actually agree that the DaBaby version is better since it lengthens the song and he's much more interesting than everything else about it. But knowing that the only reason it exists is to boots it's chart position, I struggle to give any credit there.
Don't Call Me Angel strikes as the worst kind of collaboration - none of the performers go together, and while the beat is good it feels like it's going too fast for Miley and especially Ariana to keep up. Lana isn't bad, but her part feels incongruous to the rest of the song. A picture of ramen, hot dogs and chocolate was circling around twitter with a photo of the three artists next to it, and I would argue that checks out - not bad on their own, but a jarring combination.

Take What You Want isn't even a single from Post's new album, so I'd say it's chances are non existent. If it gets pushed as a single, it might make the 2020 YE list but it would most likely just be caught between years. Good As Hell's chances aren't good at all either since it's been stuck in the 40s-50s for weeks now. This might make the 2020 YE list though if this replaces Truth Hurts on the radio. Even Though I'm Leaving will definitely not make 2019's YE list as it charted too late. As for 2020, it depends on how long it can last. If it can have Beautiful Crazy levels of longevity, it might be able to scrape by. Otherwise, it's pretty much caught between years.
I'd expect DaBaby and Maroon 5 to enter the charts next week. And the next disruption might come from DaBaby's album or maybe even Kanye if he bothers to release his album.

Your hate towards Lewis Capaldi is very unwarranted and has become fairly annoying with every video in which you show how you're personally offended by the song's existence.
Not happy to see that Maroon 5 has a new song now, their last big hit reached #1 and spent more than 50 weeks in the top 10 mostly thanks to radio payola. Billboard, this would be a perfect time to change your rules on radio to avoid things like that from happening again
I'm gonna go contrarian here. If radio play wasn't counted for the Hot 100, we would almost never get Country or the rare Rock crossover high on the charts.

The songs played on the radio aren't decided by the people buying the music, and so they shouldn't count towards the charts that document the music that people are listening to the most.

I have a proposed rule change for Billboard's Year-End List: A song that debuts in the Top 50 on one year's Year-End List is ineligible to chart on the following year's list. There is NO reason that Believer should have snuck on to 2018's Year-End List, for example.
That would make the charts more interesting, but unfortunately, it's not Billboard's job to be interesting. It's their job to be accurate. Granted, they aren't very good at doing that (let's be honest), but that's their goal

I am one of those that doesn't like "Don't Call Me Angel", mainly because for a song that is for Charlie's Angels, I was expecting more dramatic instrumentation but got this wispy insubstantial song that contains Ariana cooing her way way through the song plus there's no memorable interplay with Miley and Lana, its like they recorded their parts in separate studios. Halsey's "Graveyard" is garden variety Halsey, she's just plain boring and mediocre at this point. Not looking forward to that album Luke Combs is turning me into a fan tbh. I really like "1, 2 Many". It's a bit of fun, was hoping it'd chart in Australia but wasn't to be instead we got blackbear for some inexplicable reason. Expect a big move up for "The Git Up" with Blanco Brown releasing his album "Honeysuckle and Lightning Bugs" on October 11. Next week Maroon 5 achieves inoffensiveness by being boring, Zac Brown Band might chart a song off the impact of the album (although I hope not) and a couple of songs from the Bubbling Under.

@@usernameof5 Absolutely. If it maintains high performance for the rest of the year, it will be JUST behind "Without Me" point-wise. I feel like there's even a small possibility it may pass it for 2019's YE, but that may be wishful thinking on my part. That being said, it should easily coast the rest of the year off its residual momentum, get a position on next year's year-end list, and make the all-time list. (Assuming it doesn't suddenly crash at any point.)

Meh, i dont hate hot girl bummer, its grown on my since it dropped, but I understand why people hate it.
Sadly it looks like Even Though I'm Leaving will probably get caught between years, which is really frustrating because this is probably my favorite country song to be a billboard hit since probably Blown Away 7 years ago.
If it gets caught between years (which is quite likely), I would be pissed. It's probably the best hit country song since Colder Weather in 2011 (which itself barely snuck on to the Year-End List).
Maybe we luck out and it soars into the top 20 before it’s too late. I know it won’t, but I can’t give up hope yet
My guess was that Even Though I'm Leaving was released September because Beer Never Broke My Heart was really losing its steam at that point (it dropped out a few weeks ago). I'm still hoping that album will keep ETIL high in the remaining weeks of the Hot 100 2019 year in order for it to have a slim chance of making it to the year end. Thanks Nashville.
It's almost certainly too late to make this year's. If it's run is similar to Beautiful Crazy it could probably make next year's but yeah not looking good, it's run will be almost exactly cut in half.

@@crazyluigi6664 I said at the time Panini came out that it was the most soulless attempt to force a hit since 'Girls Like You' and I stand by that.
Girls Like You did it via a celeb filled music video, a completely out of place rap feature and being so generic and boring that it was always destined for massive radio play. Panini went for streaming numbers instead; being deliberately short to increase streams (he tweeted that this was intentional, what self-respecting artist would say that?), having some sort of lyrical gimmick that didn't make any sense but was mildly quotable, the most generic trap beat you've ever heard, an attempted Travis Scott impression for the hook and of course now a remix (first of many I imagine). Both songs are utterly worthless because they are very rare examples of when songs are crafted specifically with chart impact in mind in every regard, rather than with what makes for a good song.
I do actually agree that the DaBaby version is better since it lengthens the song and he's much more interesting than everything else about it. But knowing that the only reason it exists is to boots it's chart position, I struggle to give any credit there.

Don't Call Me Angel strikes as the worst kind of collaboration - none of the performers go together, and while the beat is good it feels like it's going too fast for Miley and especially Ariana to keep up. Lana isn't bad, but her part feels incongruous to the rest of the song. A picture of ramen, hot dogs and chocolate was circling around twitter with a photo of the three artists next to it, and I would argue that checks out - not bad on their own, but a jarring combination.

Take What You Want isn't even a single from Post's new album, so I'd say it's chances are non existent. If it gets pushed as a single, it might make the 2020 YE list but it would most likely just be caught between years.
Good As Hell's chances aren't good at all either since it's been stuck in the 40s-50s for weeks now. This might make the 2020 YE list though if this replaces Truth Hurts on the radio.
Even Though I'm Leaving will definitely not make 2019's YE list as it charted too late. As for 2020, it depends on how long it can last. If it can have Beautiful Crazy levels of longevity, it might be able to scrape by. Otherwise, it's pretty much caught between years.

Your hate towards Lewis Capaldi is very unwarranted and has become fairly annoying with every video in which you show how you're personally offended by the song's existence.
He does that with literally every song he hates. This is not a new thing.
Not happy to see that Maroon 5 has a new song now, their last big hit reached #1 and spent more than 50 weeks in the top 10 mostly thanks to radio payola. Billboard, this would be a perfect time to change your rules on radio to avoid things like that from happening again

I'm gonna go contrarian here. If radio play wasn't counted for the Hot 100, we would almost never get Country or the rare Rock crossover high on the charts.

The songs played on the radio aren't decided by the people buying the music, and so they shouldn't count towards the charts that document the music that people are listening to the most.

I have a proposed rule change for Billboard's Year-End List:
A song that debuts in the Top 50 on one year's Year-End List is ineligible to chart on the following year's list. There is NO reason that Believer should have snuck on to 2018's Year-End List, for example.
That would make the charts more interesting, but unfortunately, it's not Billboard's job to be interesting. It's their job to be accurate. Granted, they aren't very good at doing that (let's be honest), but that's their goal

They've gotta change that (gradually over the course of a few years by adding one extra week in December onto the end of a chart year until the chart year and calendar years line up).

I am one of those that doesn't like "Don't Call Me Angel", mainly because for a song that is for Charlie's Angels, I was expecting more dramatic instrumentation but got this wispy insubstantial song that contains Ariana cooing her way way through the song plus there's no memorable interplay with Miley and Lana, its like they recorded their parts in separate studios.
Halsey's "Graveyard" is garden variety Halsey, she's just plain boring and mediocre at this point. Not looking forward to that album
Luke Combs is turning me into a fan tbh. I really like "1, 2 Many". It's a bit of fun, was hoping it'd chart in Australia but wasn't to be instead we got blackbear for some inexplicable reason.
Expect a big move up for "The Git Up" with Blanco Brown releasing his album "Honeysuckle and Lightning Bugs" on October 11.
Next week Maroon 5 achieves inoffensiveness by being boring, Zac Brown Band might chart a song off the impact of the album (although I hope not) and a couple of songs from the Bubbling Under.

Don’t Call Me Angel honestly isn’t very good. Ariana is fine, but Miley and Lana are trying to be like her despite Miley being a strong singer as opposed to Ariana’s softer, more whispery voice and Lana is a Billie Eilish wannabe because that’s what’s popular and honestly just sucks.

Imran Bazil Ahmad Kamal But she still sounds too similar to Billie Eilish, no matter who inspired who. Billie honestly does it better because she is a good singer with a good voice and skill, as opposed to Lana’s mediocre voice, which is why she does the whispering and mumbling thing with her voice, and lack of real skill. While I’m not a Billie Eilish diehard fanatic, I do think that she has a few good songs.
