      She actually did answer they just cut that part out. Her argument was basically “you came here via your own decision and expected to be attacked vs a trans person in school is not asking to be attacked for being trans.”
      Not saying I agree with her argument but she did respond, they cut this part of the video. JP would probably find that dishonest.

As far as I’m aware though, either at school; interview or elsewhere (no matter gender, age or race) one must be willing & able to defend our beliefs when questioned. Even if the questioning is done offensively. Without starting a revolution so the legislative system (or Social media) forces others into silence & submission.
      That’s the point!
      Just so we all understand, as per our laws, people ARE entitled to say to you whatever they want in any tone. As long as they don’t threaten your life; belongings or keep you from leaving against your will.

      Fair point except this interview occurred in the UK and they don’t have the US Constitution. Therefore it is important to understand a more fundamental defense of freedom of speech rather than just depend on the typical American response of “because of the Constitution”

      I thought about it and there's difference between saying words and doing physical damage: impact of the words depends on how you receive them, whereas if e.g. someone slaps your face, you receive the slap exactly how it was sent to you.

      @@loisprew8820 I think that's the point of the og comment. You have to speak out to find out if something is offensive to others. It's like how a comedian needs to *tell* a joke in order to find out if it's actually funny or not.
      The problems arise when other people try to enforce their opinion on people who don't share it. It's okay to come to a compromise, or agree to disagree, but it's not okay to selfishly override another person's agency.
      (I don't know the people in the video, nor their argument, aside from gathering that the man hasn't been kind to trans people. While I agree that free speech will almost inevitably offend *someone,* I also agree with you about trying *not* to. _Kindness is the best way to go, especially when explaining something was offensive to someone who may be_ ignorant!)
