- Look litterally inside a Volcano! After the recent eruptions of 4 and 7 July 2024 the italian volcano Etna has a new peak. The Voragine crater with 3369 meters (INGV).

I was right there in august 2021, walking leisurely around this very crater which didn't look like much at all, a very shallow depression in the summit between the huge craters of the Northeast and Bocca Nuova, barely discernible as a crater. It's such an intense feeling to think that, if I ever go back there, I may not recognize any of the places I walked on.

If you watch very closely you see the inner most rim go up & down as the gasses escape the lava pond
