t was a wonderful experience doing the IB but, frankly speaking you must take your work seriously and you must also study most of the time if you plan score well in IB. Apart from that, you will learn so many skills that your peers in the first year of college wouldn't know!
Your videos are amazing! I've been so confused on whether or not I want to take IB, it seems like there is a lot more pressure.. Thank you so much this was so helpful!!
This is extremely helpful, thank you! One thing I am confused about the IB though - do we have to study all six subjects at a high level? I am very interested in humanties and arts subjects and I enjoy languages, sciences are okay for me but I really struggle with maths. I think I would prefer the IB because I get to study a range of subjects, and apparently it's also it's less exam based. Another question - is there an option to study performing or dance in the IB? Can we drop a science for maths for an arts/humanties subjects?
Anyone knows how difficult is IB HL maths compared to Singaporean A’levels? Because I understand that the math in my country is harder than the western A’level and I’m deciding if I should go to a junior college or an international school in Singapore as maths is needed for both, yet in IB, I have to take more subjects and I’m afraid picking HL maths will pull down my IB grade. Taking Math at a HL is not really what I’m aiming for right now, i want something that’s way more challenging than secondary school maths yet not something that is not overly “heavy”.
so basically, im currently doing a year of art school anf after this year im either doing IB or A levels and idk which one i should do because they both have pros and cons and idk i rllly wanna get into a good university and i believe with IB u have better chances but im not quite sure as i never lived in the UK
hey i just came across your video! I'm doing my IGCSES next year may/june and I'm honestly so confused about IB/A levels. A friend of mine who did the IB told ,me it was really difficult and stressful! I sometimes don't test well and I find that the quality of work I produce in class and during random assessments is actual really good. Any advice?
nigel jonathan A levels are more exam centred than IGCSE's and the IB has a wide range of subjects to choose from so it's good for people doing humanities for eg. or are undecided
Same. I got done with my o level and right now I’m confused on chossing a programme. Im planning on a degree in engineering so i really dont want to face any kind of cons from either A levels or IB.
@@emankhan4000 to be honest i think a level would be a good choice for someone that already figure out what they want to further in degree level. While ib is for someone that might still have a doubt of what they want to be for career wise, because for ib students u have the opportunity to learn more subject and the subject combination also allow u to have more choices for ur degree. But this doesn't means ib is better than alevel, but for a level u will study deeper of the knowledge and is really focused on study while for ib it's more demanding in terms of studies, research assignment, and also cas (creative, action, service) so it kind of develop a student with more holistic skills.. so i suggest if u are sure to pursue engineering than a level will be a better choice especially if ure quite exam oriented.
I just realised you must have taken History (HL)! I am a Year 2 student and history is just the biggest struggle for me because I do not know how to approach the subject -methodwise- Any suggestions for the finals?? Thank you soo much!!!
+Lf I did, and twice actually! I did it in May '15, got a 5, so retook it in November (I needed 43 for my uni) and finally got the 6 I needed! But yeah, it is hard. What worked for me is making many essay outlines because it helps you study for the history exam specifically rather than the history itself (which is useful only to a certain extent). Also pay attention in class!! ahahaha
Leo Studies That is a really good point actually, I often forget that, especially if you are compiling notes for broad topics such as the interwar period and international relations, you have to stay focused on the format of the class..
+Leo Studies if you wish to resit for an exam, you only sit for that one exam not the entire thing? Are there any requirements/criterions to be met for you to do this?
Thank you, you're amazing! However, my school is going fully IB next year so I don't really have a choice but I guess it's okay because it aligns well with my academic profile. Love you
maths studies is just core/basic maths, choose maths studies if the career you want to take doesn't include maths, just to be able to get as much points as you can from that subject
Ib is so much better, it prepares you better for Universities. But a levels are good if you just want to do a few subjects that you really enjoy, and basically applying to the UK
Im at the end of my IB first year. IB has already taught me way more english than what my teachers had taught since grade 8.
Chandranil Deb would you recommend IB ?

you pick 3 subjects at a high level, and 3 more at a standard level. take maths studies if maths isn't a strong point for you
Your videos are amazing!! Thank you!

is that the picture of the afghan girl in your background beside that cup.
i am from afghanistan i think it is.
wonder how you got intrested in that.
You're a lovely young lady, thank you for your explanation.
I study in ib and I am from an Igcse school. So in Igcse subjects were made more easier and here shits hell more complicated
Everything's harder than igcse😑 A levels are no joke
Fyi A levels is much deep into the subject rather than IB. So it isn't easy. Both are tough
I have done both so I know. Please don't ask how I did both 😆. Tragedy
Sibasish Mukherjee can I ask how you've done both? I'm doing a levels atm but feel like maybe I should have done ib...
I was thinking in doing both! This comment is kinda old but could you tell me a little about your experience? Like... It was worth it?

What's the difference between SL maths studies and maths?
maths studies is just core/basic maths, choose maths studies if the career you want to take doesn't include maths, just to be able to get as much points as you can from that subject
+Amira Oltiveros alright will do thank you for the advice
math studies is basically Year 10 math (so basically the first year of IGCSE/GCSE)
maths studies is a higher level than igcses or anything you do in year 11, but its easier than sl
Do any of you guys take or know about environmental studies and societies? If so, would you recommend it?
For me polytechnic diploma
