THIS MAKES SO MUCH MORE SENSE
I wasn't connecting the down with slowing down. To allow your horse to go faster, you sit lighter. Think a Jocky's 2 point. To stop, you sit heavier. Think about trying to run with a heavy backpack. THIS MAKES SO MUCH MORE SENSE. SO IF I WANT MY HORSE TO TROT, SIT LIGHT. IF I WANT EM TO SLOW DOWN, SIT HEAVY!!!
(Did I get it finally? Pls correct me if I didn't 🥲🥲)
The concept is riding with the horses lift or suspension to receive their back as opposed to sitting down heavy and blocking there movement which makes a jarring ride for both horse and rider. Once we are in sync with the the trot we can use our body feel/tempo to influence the trot which is more comfortable and effective for horse and rider. Here is a link to the complete demo to help you with your question. Thanks for watching!

@ArtOfTheHorseman trying your technique out, my stopping has changed immensely, much improvement 💖
Still working on holding a trot let alone sitting it tho... new horse who has no idea what she's doing 🥲🥲💖
Thank you
Thanks for watching!
How do you physically make that movement?
Think about the rising trot, then gradually lower your body until you’re not taking your seat off the saddle. Imagine a bungee card attached to your head slightly taking weight off your body in the saddle. Thanks for watching!
What is this riders name?
