When I told a friend of mine that I climed up a tree to prune it (I'm almost your age) she asked me why I didn't ask a man to do it. I also think what I can do I do myself.
Surely one of your top ten videos. Colorful, peaceful, intimate,e productive. Birds twitering contentedly. I found you at the begining of the pandemic. Bless you for you public service.
I never get bored of watching your videos. The diversity in your garden and three acres is the key. It is ever evolving, changing through the seasons. Thank you for being a beacon of light, hope, and inspiration.
You are an smazing Lady, Colette. Love your energy and loved watching you work. What a great feeling to be outdoors on your own land, perfecting your dwelling space, not a worry, not a hurry and surrounded by birdsong. Lovely work. I do the same thing and love it ❤
Hello Colette, well done you, I'm of the same mind. If I can get on and do it I will. I cut back my trees in similar way, I'm 73 next month, I ask Gaia for blessings before I undergo anything too drastic in my small woodland space. I feel as though my strength and energies come from being grounded in tune with her, A pot of herbal infusion to follow is always welcome. too. Hugs and Blessings to you Colette. 💚🌹
I so admire your energy and strength.!! I love your forest and garden! Unfortunately I’m not in the greatest of health anymore, and it is hard for me to move pots and bags of soils. I live in North Texas where it is already in the 90s. It’s cool in the early mornings for a couple of hours. But after that it is too hot for me to be out outside. I love gardening and in the spring it is such a delight to be out in the garden. As long as I can manage I will have some pots of flowers. Thank you for all your hard work and the beauty that you have created on Mother Earth.❤🌺🐛🌸🕊️🌳🦎🐸🐝🪻💜🧚🏻♀️🐦⬛🐜🐌🌲🍄🌹🌾🌼🌿🌼Blessings to you!❤
Watching you work is so inspiring to me. I have removed all the grass from my backyard and have planted native plants and flowers. I am approaching the task as a meditative experience as you suggest. I am so proud to have ever run across your videos and books and bumper stickers and calendars and references and wealth of knowledge in so many areas of life. Much love and respect, Dan
Ah, Colette… Your videos are always enjoyable, though watching you work today is especially satisfying. I gather tidbits here and there from UA-cam videos of the ways in which masters of their respective crafts work and find that to be so meaningful. As a treehugger of old and lover of all things nature, I come away from your videos feeling recharged. Thank you for making my day! Your jumper is lovely, too! Will you make a cowl & jumper for dear Patsy to wear during the harshest days of winter? That would be a sight to behold as she trots down the pathways of your garden wonderland! Blessings to you both!!!
Wonderful work, Colette. The older I get, the more I think of my ancestors and incorporate some of their knowledge in my endeavors in our yard. BTW, your haircut looks nice on you.
God bless your good health and energy 🙏🏻🙏🏻.what an amazing world you have created to surround yourself with,it is truly amazing and blessed .lovely to hear the birds chirping and singing along to keep you company while you work.blessings from the southeast.☘️💚
You are an amazing Lady 😊with lots of energy. What could be more satisfying than working outdoors on your own land, no hurry, no worry, surrounded by birdsong and perfecting your living space ❤ I do the same and I love 💟 it
And I wonder... where is Lady Patsy The Great???? hahaha, I guess that she is happily resting inside the cozy kitchen and perhaps thinking: Ohh! my mama will be tired tonight! Your life is so inspiring Dear Colette; I really and heartily admire you ( heartily?? that word exists or it has just been created by me?, well, accept my apologies, I´m Argentine)
Hi Colette, all your hard work definitely pays off! I like your jumper you did well. Don't overdo things though, looks very strenuous! Enjoy your pot of tea! Many blessings to you and little Patsy ❤❤
I never get tired of watching you Colette. You and Mother Earth create magic together ! I wonder if your strength comes from your pots of tea or because you are Irish. Sorry, feeble joke. I have so much admiration for you and have shared your video’s with friends. After all your flowers in May, I now love your red Beech tree most of all ! Those leaves look so good in a flower arrangement . Didn’t you do one recently ? Balance you said. ? I think you are an Irish treasure and the country should be very proud of you !! Blessings and love !! 🙏❤️🙏
Thank you for sharing this video with us. I’m a bit ADHD and get distracted easily. My garden also needs tending so hearing your tips and watching you work helps me. More than you know! ❤
💜Stellar upload Colette, so many learn visually and to see how things are done and to what extent and why... This video tells all. God Bless you for having the insight for your channel and how gratifying it is for all to watch. 💜🙏
Wow t bow my head to all the women of the world as Annie Lennox said best sisters doing it for them selves to the women of Ireland Scotland and Britain your ancestors and Carrigan mother tara bless you r Collette
I love the red leaves of the tree you are trimming, and it is making me a little sad, but still enjoying seeing the leaves every time time you toss a branch. I would love a tree with red or burgundy leaves like that one.
A beautiful breath taking woodland. I have a jungle long garden and many broad leaf trees growing in tubs, they dearly could do with a good home like your woodland Collette. blessed be x PS Bravo a job well done, I find the mini cordless saw amazing for trees.
I enjoy trimming and weeding the gardens, immensely. People think I’m odd. My hubs prefers hand saws, too. I finally convinced him to get a small chain saw and electric snipper-only because he’ll be out there all day and he works hard during the week already. Gives him more time to relax. Otherwise, I agree with you, the silence is meditative. 😌
Colette you sure get through the work. I am easily overwhelmed unfortunately, but iwhen fit for it I really enjoy outdoor tasks. Fabulous way to appreciate being in the present. I agree your choice of tool is nicer for you and thoes around you. Hug to Patsy E x
Been trying to get to grips with my own small garden after being inspired by your hard work and dedication. My space, although tree and laurel bush laden in a pretty compact area, is formed like an ode to Mt Everest. And therein lies the problem of balancing and trying to prune on a treacherous mountainside. Loving this video btw 🥰 x
Wow Colette ! I really enjoyed watching you work, it reminds me of the days when I had a mountain garden and a city garden... It was non-stop and I enjoyed it so much, the best kind of tired there is. now you will relax with Patsy. Well done !
We live in a time in history when no one wants to do the work to maintain ones property and prefer to hire someone else to do it. Those who live off-grid, rural areas, in the country, homesteaders, farmers and such, have learned to do the work themselves because this is the life they chosed. To these people it is not work rather a part of their everyday life. Their clock is when the sun rises and sets. I believe some have made the comments they said because they have never been taught any skill sets to rough it.
I think I lost some weight just watching you, I just built a bridge across my stream into the forest so now I can get my four wheeler over there and do the same thing you’re doing ,love the inspiration.
Your yard is absolutely beautiful. And thanks for sharing it. Just listening to all you accomplish wears me out. Who hauls away all your clippings? You are amazing!
So much to comment on! Your front door area looks lovely and I'm impressed by the symmetry of the trees/ shrubs in either side. The baubles add such joy as well 💖 It's so inspiring to see how you tackled such a big pruning job!! Thanks so much for sharing 🥰✨
What a lot of work! I have the greatest admiration for your work ethic. After years of using a pruning saw I broke down and added to my tool kit a little battery powered chain saw. It has made jobs like that much easier and as I get older...I really appreciate it! Blessings to you and Patsy!
I am in the process of cutting down 3 elm trees that are growing in the wrong spots and damaging my house. I have to work early in the morning or it is just too hot! It is a good work out.
Hi Colette, working extremely hard. Unfortunately last few days, I've done nothing as have a bad cold and bad chest. It's really frustrating especially as the weather has finally turned nice. Watching you, i just want to get out there and garden. Thank you for your video xxx
You have a beautiful place, How would you get rid of poisonous weeds? Just began working on a very empty yard just moved here 6 months ago , yes I do most things myself I also dislike asking and paying , well even then I've been disappointed now these weeds popped up they're flowering with berries ...if I pull them or cut they return I don't use chemicals ...not sure about the prior owners...any suggestions would be appreciated
Someone buy that woman a large whisky ! Well done colette a woman after my own heart ....in my experience if you wait for a man to do it you'll wait forever .
Dear Colette you such a buissy Woman(Hope I wrote it in the right way.)...Lots of Work.......But your Woodland Looks great Blessings and greetings and a big hug for Patsy... Daggy Kiel Germany ☘️☘️☘️
blessed be Colette and Patsy love watching your work videos i can hardly move anymore with my ms,epilepsy and tbi but i still do yard care/work as much as possible..much love and respect have a great day
Hi Colette, agree with "who needs a gym" ? I cut all branches and small (and not so small...lol) trees by myself, too. The handsaw I use is called "Samurai Ichiban" made in Japan. The Japanese make excellent ones. I have used my saw for over 5 years, never needs sharpening and is very reasonably priced, I think. 👩⚖👩🔧
I'm thinking that, if one were to cut down a big tree with hand tools, a felling axe to cut down the tree, a pruning saw to delimb it, and a buck saw for cutting it up would be the proper way.
🇸🇪 Good Evening from Sweden!.. You have been working hard Colette. Ha, Even a woman can hard prune a tree,, (all by herself!🤗) Today, work like that, is my daily, paid for, work .... After 30 years of being a Preschool theacher, I today work at a Graveyard as a gardener/maintanence worker... and I do not understand why some men can't handle, that we women, can do a man's work. But then, many fathers "baby sit" their own children, when the mothers are, for once, doing something for themselves, "all alone".😆 And the fathers get so much praise for "the Baby Sitting"...😅😅 Have you ever heard ofa mother, Baby Sitting heir own children? And then getting praised for it? If it ever happens, then it is veeeeeery seldom, is'nt it.😅 And a little advise from me, Colette.... (if you do not already have it),....Then, Get yourself a Sawhourse. That will save your back, and actually your whole Body from a lot of unnecessary Pain,.. Sitting here with my own Tea Pot, after a long day's hard work, having some sandwiches this Friday Evening....😂💖🤗 And I am so longing for coming to Ireland this Summer, though for a Wedding, but I will stay in your beautiful Ireland for some extra days! So happy for being able to do that! Have a great weekend, Colette, and hug little Patsy from me!🐾🤗💖🇸🇪
Do you have any tri-color beech trees? I had one in my yard for 25 years and it was gorgeous, but I live on a river and it died one year during a June flood. I was heartbroken😪
Totally agree about the noise of a chain saw. I nearly always prefer to handsaw no matter if it takes longer I can hear what’s around me. Love the idea of staking the wood in the woods for a year. When you hand saw I think you appreciate much more the energy taken to keep us warm and have a nod of thanks to the trees. Hope you put your feet up after that.
I’m like you, always have been. Work alone, work in sections, get it done. Good job!
When I told a friend of mine that I climed up a tree to prune it (I'm almost your age) she asked me why I didn't ask a man to do it. I also think what I can do I do myself.

I so love it! I do also approach trees with hand saw, if need be. Less noisy indeed. Peaceful work.

The birds in your garden are so lovely to listen ❤ thank you Collette!! Congrats on your hard work!!!
I love your land and home. Very comfortable. Nature is just so very wonderful. I also enjoy your meal preps and relaxing times. Doggy pat!
Hi Colette, all your hard work definitely pays off! I like your jumper you did well. Don't overdo things though, looks very strenuous! Enjoy your pot of tea! Many blessings to you and little Patsy ❤❤

Today June 8 I had to cut limbs we are fighting web worms which destroy trees and water my porch potted plants thank you for sharing
Your yard is absolutely beautiful. And thanks for sharing it. Just listening to all you accomplish wears me out. Who hauls away all your clippings? You are amazing!
I don’t have anything hauled away I stack it in the woodland as in nature and these stacks become habitat piles for small creatures and vertebrates
“Nothing will work unless you do.” Maya Angelou…..I love to work, too, Collette, but I’m afraid you could work rings around me!
Thank you! Really enjoyed the ASMR of it ! ✨✨✨

Jack of all trades or should I rephrase it to Jill.
When ever I see a tree fall r be cut down I collect alittle bit of them so I put in my shri ogham remembrance box innmy living room
Have you ever been featured on a radio show for a phone in to help ailing trees or plants? If not , you should be with all of your arbor knowledge.
I have never been asked onto radio.
