Everything I need in a smart watch I get in my 6 classic . I'm not a serious athlete. I just go on walks everyday. Between 6 and 7 miles. My wife is with me and she has a Garmin Epix pro and our GPS distance matches pretty close to each other. I'll put her watch on to compare my heart rate and its identical to what I get on my classic. I'm obsessive compulsive when it comes to keeping my watch charged so even if I had a watch that could last days or a week I would still charge it everyday. 😅so the battery on my classic doesn't bother me one bit. I've never understood people's problems with battery life on a watch. Its not hard to throw it on a charger. Ya, I get it if your doing a triathlon or something and you want your watch to last. That's not me. LOL!!!
U r wrong. With trading in SW4 I payed total $88 instead of $320 for my GW7... Take for instance using mic on GW4... Not anymore, to choppy, nobody can't hear you .. why? To weak processor!...
How often are you using the mic on your Watch for recording and calls? For how I use my GW4 Classic. I don't need the downgrade to no rotating bezel. The only real upgrade would be from GW4 Classic to GW6 Classic.

I was one of the people that got screwed with the 3 classic which was the last to use Tizen OS. So last year I updated to the 6, and I am super happy. If the 7 Ultra had a rotating bezel I would consider it because of the battery.

As someone with a heart condition, the most accurate monitor is very important and the reason why I'm looking to upgrade (have a watch 3 now). Is it worth it to get the watch 7 for the upgraded sensor or the watch 6 classic?
@blaze376192 go for the watch 7 in that case, but in general, i can't recommend any smartwatch but a proper health tracker instead. Smartwatches are great and all, but i wouldn't rely on their senors if you're trying to track for health condition purposes.
I prefer the galaxy watch ultra over the 6 classic any day , apart from the duel gps ,new sensors, new processor , brighter screen ,the ultra looks much better , which is why i traded my 6 classic in for it. As for the rotating bezel , i hardley used it on the 6 classic , so i definitely dont miss it
You can download the APKs of the new watchfaces on your phone and install them onto the watch via abd commands. It sounds complicated, but very simple.

I am currently torn between GW 5 Pro and GW 6 Classic. I absolutely love the rotating bezel, been in love with it since the first day I've got my Gear S3 Frontier, but Tizen OS is completely outdated, and battery is barely getting me 10 hours of normal use. The only idea behind getting a GW 5 Pro is 590mAh Battery. I would appreciate if I could charge my watch less frequently. And also the Titanium case. Do you have any insights on whether I should get 5 Pro for battery and build quality over 6 classic? Or the battery life IRL isn't that shorter on 6 classic? Thank You in advance!
@magicfragrances When I had the choice, i knew i could reverse wireless charge the watch with my phone, so I stuck with the 6 classic. It was newer, looked great, has the better build quality and got the job done perfectly. GW5 pro will hands down have the better battery life, but that's the only thing its got going for itself. The 6C lasts me a little over 2 days consistently. If you're happy with that, you have your answer

Im coming at this from a slightly different perspective. I dont have a 6 currently, or any smartwatch for that matter. My doctor suggested i get one that can do blood pressure readings so ive narrowed it down to the 6 classic or the 7. They are both roughly the same price. I really like the rotating bezel but am unsure if its worth giving up on the better sensors in the 7 since im getting this primarily for health monitoring

I went from my 6C 47mm to the Ultra. Reason why I upgraded is because my 6C was starting to be lag heavy. Was getting frustrating. There is a noticeable difference in performance. The fluidness and responsiveness is better. No regrets upgrading. This is just my take on that.
I just made this upgrade and have loved it. I needed more battery and better fitness tracking but also work in a professional environment, so I needed it to look the part as well. I would say it was worth it for me.

@kendral9753 ngl that brown leather is the best looking but the most inconvenient out of the bunch 🤣. It creates a distance between the wrist and the watch sensors and you cant track anything with it. I wish I could give you a link because I found it on temu. I think a quick temu search will land u on the one I have.
I love my 6 classic 47mm. I traded in my 4 classic and was able to get the 6 for $150.00. I see no need for the 7 especially since they got rid of the physical bezel. I also have a 5 pro I bought renewed from Amazon for $140.00 (I have a bit of an addiction when it comes to watches). I wear the 6 to work and when going out. I wear the 5 on weekends when working around the house/yard or going to the beach. No worrying about getting dirt/sand in the bezel. Both have good battery life. Though the five is still better than the 6 when it comes to battery life.
I was £240 for my watch 6 classic in the January sale's its an amazing watch. It has took me to this week to go for the ultra but again got it for better price on the primesale this week for £440 double what watch 6 classic was for me

I would say as a first timer, go for what fits your budget since all these watches are pretty much the same. You cant really go wrong with any of the new or old ones. Stay at series 5 or above if you want to go the samsung way I'd say and lean towards what holds more value for you- budget, looks, battery life.

I have always owned a Fitbit. My current Fitbit Sense 2 I have worn for at least 4 years. That being said, I have decided it's time for a new smartwatch. Even though I have bought Fitbit (several different upgrades through the years), this time, I decided I was going to buy Samsung. @twohassles43 as a first-timer, it's best to go for the watch 7. And like you said, it would have been a different story if you had the 6 / classic already. But because you dont, it only makes sense to go for the 7. Id say forget about the bezel or design, look at the functionality of it and how it compares to your previous watches.

I thought the 6 classic won't get the AI updates? I have the 4 classic and was debating Ultra even though I don't want to and actually love the Classic series.
The new One UI is definitely making its way down to the 6 and 5 series. As for when it is, Im not sure. I feel you, the classic is pretty snazzy lookin to just move on from lol
Samsung is really bad at longevity for their devices. After just a couple years it's useless and after 5 it's essentially a brick. They love producing tech waste.
You can easily understand that Samsung is trying to let odd and even number's watch have their own identities and separate fan bases. Samsung is letting their products compete against each other
Next year there will be watch 8 classic because every 2 years Samsung will release the classic model, you can refer to that progression from 4 classic to 5 pro and then 6 classic to the next galaxy watch ultra. The ultra model is the next product from the 5 pro, similar to the 4 and 6
The classic is a great looking watch, but it's a year old now which is a year less that Samsung will support it with software updates. The lighter weight, still great looks and far superior health sensors on the 7 sells it to me. Sorry!

Why my active watch 2 is still works well without lag..got update last week with watch 7 faces. Looked amazing. The only issue is battery backup need to charge every single day
I have the classic 6, its nice, but going for the pixel watch 3 45mm, It looks better and hides the bezels. As far as 2.5 days, impossible on the classic. I get 1.5 days max. And never let the battery go under 30% else you will cut shorter your battery lifespan
@dennisrogers6786 Fair play, looks are subjective, so I imagine the Pixel 3 is a better pick for you. You dont get 2.5 days because u probably dont let it go below the 30%. The tech today is good enough to not have you limit your battery. Its more of a play on the longevity. Sure, if you dont let it go below 30, your device will last longer. But if you dont let it go below 50 and keep below 80, it'll last even longer.
Another reason going for the pixel 3 watch is accuracy is much better then thee GW 7 or ultra, and a lot better then the GW6. The Pixel is up there with the best most accurate HR sensors, and having accurate HR sensors makes your states more realistic. Also I charge my watch every night no matter battery percentage, and in this case ats around 50 to 58% depending on use
Oh, wow! Great info! I didn't have any of the previous models. I have a Fossil Gen 6 that's kinda dressy, and I just bought the Watch Ultra. Had I known this, I may have considered the 6 Classic instead. That bezel looks great! I still might get it to take the place of my Fossil for formal wear....but they'll likely drop a 7C soon, though, don't you think?

Just like you, I much prefer the design of the Watch 6 Classic (silver), however, if I had to buy a Galaxy today, it would be the Watch 7/44mm silver with just a metal ring around the screen, to mimic the Classic. Ps: the Ultra makes no sense and it's ugly

What about the glare? It's pretty bad compared to my watch 4

I would say as a first timer, go for what fits your budget since all these watches are pretty much the same. You cant really go wrong with any of the new or old ones. Stay at series 5 or above if you want to go the samsung way I'd say and lean towards what holds more value for you- budget, looks, battery life.

I have always owned a Fitbit. My current Fitbit Sense 2 I have worn for at least 4 years.
That being said, I have decided it's time for a new smartwatch. Even though I have bought Fitbit (several different upgrades through the years), this time, I decided I was going to buy Samsung. I am going with Samsung this time around because I have always owned Samsung phones. I decided I would try the Samsung smartwatch because I own the Samsung Ultra 7 phone. I figured this time I would stay in the Samsung ecosystem.
My question to you is: since I am a first-time buyer of a Samsung smartwatch, do you suggest I go with the new Samsung Watch 7 or buy the older Samsung Classic 6???
In my opinion, since I am a first-time buyer of Samsung watches, I may as well get the latest version. If I currently owned the older Samsung Classic 6, I could understand that the upgrade wasn't worth it at the moment. But I kind of think since this is my first introduction to Samsung Watch, and the price difference isn't that much, I should go ahead and buy the newest version.

@twohassles43 as a first-timer, it's best to go for the watch 7. And like you said, it would have been a different story if you had the 6 / classic already. But because you dont, it only makes sense to go for the 7. Id say forget about the bezel or design, look at the functionality of it and how it compares to your previous watches.

I thought the 6 classic won't get the AI updates? I have the 4 classic and was debating Ultra even though I don't want to and actually love the Classic series.
The new One UI is definitely making its way down to the 6 and 5 series. As for when it is, Im not sure.

Samsung is really bad at longevity for their devices. After just a couple years it's useless and after 5 it's essentially a brick. They love producing tech waste.
You can easily understand that Samsung is trying to let odd and even number's watch have their own identities and separate fan bases. Samsung is letting their products compete against each other
I hope that is the case because that is a great way to go about making products. You get to do your yearly refreshes ans still keep it new every time.

Next year there will be watch 8 classic because every 2 years Samsung will release the classic model, you can refer to that progression from 4 classic to 5 pro and then 6 classic to the next galaxy watch ultra. The ultra model is the next product from the 5 pro, similar to the 4 and 6
The classic is a great looking watch, but it's a year old now which is a year less that Samsung will support it with software updates. The lighter weight, still great looks and far superior health sensors on the 7 sells it to me. Sorry!

@Ernesto__32 If you have neither, get the 7, its a little bit better with the sensors. But if you're stuck on design, it doesnt get better than the 6c imo

I upgraded to the 7 from the 6 classic. Glad I did. The 6 classic stutters and freezes. Although it's a downgrade on design.
Why my active watch 2 is still works well without lag..got update last week with watch 7 faces. Looked amazing. The only issue is battery backup need to charge every single day

I have the classic 6, its nice, but going for the pixel watch 3 45mm, It looks better and hides the bezels. As far as 2.5 days, impossible on the classic. I get 1.5 days max. And never let the battery go under 30% else you will cut shorter your battery lifespan
@dennisrogers6786 Fair play, looks are subjective, so I imagine the Pixel 3 is a better pick for you.
You dont get 2.5 days because u probably dont let it go below the 30%. The tech today is good enough to not have you limit your battery. Its more of a play on the longevity. Sure, if you dont let it go below 30, your device will last longer. But if you dont let it go below 50 and keep below 80, it'll last even longer.
Another reason going for the pixel 3 watch is accuracy is much better then thee GW 7 or ultra, and a lot better then the GW6. The Pixel is up there with the best most accurate HR sensors, and having accurate HR sensors makes your states more realistic. Also I charge my watch every night no matter battery percentage, and in this case ats around 50 to 58% depending on use

Oh, wow! Great info! I didn't have any of the previous models. I have a Fossil Gen 6 that's kinda dressy, and I just bought the Watch Ultra. Had I known this, I may have considered the 6 Classic instead. That bezel looks great! I still might get it to take the place of my Fossil for formal wear....but they'll likely drop a 7C soon, though, don't you think?

A big reason I'm sticking with my Galaxy Watch 6 is because the 7 doesn’t have a 'classic' model, big mistake on Samsung's part!!!
Just like you, I much prefer the design of the Watch 6 Classic (silver), however, if I had to buy a Galaxy today, it would be the Watch 7/44mm silver with just a metal ring around the screen, to mimic the Classic.
Ps: the Ultra makes no sense and it's ugly

i did buy this galaxy ultra watch to try it , just pfffff , my old garmin is 300% better in every way , i did just go and return it , but id did give it a chance , but i was suprized how it did have nothing cool , and this only works with samsung phone is some features , that is a mistake , suprized how boring this watch was .
