Thank for this video, I blow my fuse from the multimeter and I had no ideea how to change the fuse of a multimeter or how it looks like, this video was very helpful.😁
Yup, I got a MM, didn't know nuthing and blew the lower current fuse. But thanks to this vid its replaced. Now to watch the vid about how not to blow the fuse.
@@Science.Buddies thank you! i was about to buy a new one to test DCV. Glad it is still good, plus i hadn't thought about 10A for regular use, i thought it was just for a special setting...
When measuring an unknown current value, it is always a good idea to start out with the 10A port and dial setting, so you do not blow the fuse on the 200mA port if the current is too high.
@@Science.Buddies good to know, i appreciate your input! I used it heavily when replacing Prius hybrid batteries, to see which were bad. Now my boat does have power, so tracking it down is fun.... I don't feel the need for an expensive device, when this works just fine. 🙂thank you again!!
Hello! hope you're still there. I measured the amps using the voltage port and *pop* it exploded. The problem is that the multimeter is giving random readings and it's adding numbers out of nowhere for no reason. Is there a solution?? thanks in advance :)
Hi - unfortunately this is more than we can help troubleshoot. There are online forums dedicated to electronics where you may be able to get more help.

Thank you so much for sharing Dr. Finio!
You're welcome!
Good vid
Thank you Sir
This might be a silly question, but is the fuse for the whole unit? I thought I read it was only for testing the resistance? I have this same model.
The fuse is only for the current measurement setting on the 200mA port. The 10A port is unfused.

The other functions should work. Also note you want to limit the time the multimeter is connected to the power source.
This is good design

@@Science.Buddies Ohh Ok. Thanks
My multimeter reads one amp when connected to 9v battery,is fuse blown
Where can I purchase 500mA fuse H 250V for the multi meter.
You can find these fuses if you search on Amazon or other online vendors.
I am trying to find a fuse for a BM15D (do not buy one, and goes by other names). It is really small
🙏🙏🙏
Fuse berapa amper
Happened with me
I see you splurged and got the seven dollar multimedia from harbor freight
