Overlooked reality is when the game's matchmaking can have moments of just flat out giving up, shuffle in virtually anybody AND assuming you don't get a total blow out/breaking up teams message, the matchmaking pool going forward basically will keep people in the lopsided fashion and sometimes even shuffle back in people who left lobby just to keep matches going in shorter time for everyone. It's like "you've been selected, you're the only goobers playing at weird hours, good luck".
Literally had this happen last night in the span of a 6 game streak where the lobby I was in was kind of swung way easy and free and just had no real shakeups. I know it looks like "streamer luck" but yeah Bungo matchmaking can produce funky results and I think things swing even crazier because the outlier bubble is protecting such a specific % of lower end people that it is open season on somebody who's a bit more cognitive by still might be new or not amazing.
Per your point of console, that's basically just the game's ancient bones. Halo "worked" because it was a good deal of jank that was covered up by the physical limitations of the times and a Spartan could only do so much. The nonsense with melees rubberbanding(especially with Titans), somebody not going down to something that should've put them down at close range and them being able to force a melee duel trade is a holdover from 3 or Reach? and it was a situation of the person with the crappier connection in lobby getting a technical advantage. I knew people in college who had obscene amounts of Melee bash kills in Halo because their dorm net was terrible.

you should revisit cold denial... the only pulse with 14 zoom, which makes it quite easy to control flinch and having a good overview for your surroundings while ADS!

@@testme242it has a negative recoil direction throwing it right into a guardians head if you have 75 recoil. It’s insane. Stats may appear worse on paper, but in practice it’s busted.
@@testme242 pretty much. everybody was looking at cold denial with the zoom changes but if you actually use it it lacks for some reason. i'm a firm believer there are weird unexplained things going on under the hood in this game (theyve confirmed it sometimes, eg admitting a bug with immortal's stability). and cold denial just...something wrong with it. its not as good as it should be on paper. also, elsies is stupid lol.
@@Needs_Tzel could be platform dependent, maybe youre on pc and its magically better there, but on xbox cold denial is very mid. you literally never see it.

This but with lethal abundance slice + onslaught goes crazy especially with the radiant orbs from the artifact and 1 surge. 3x onslaught with radiant and surge is .42 ttk t8 and below and it happens way more than youd think. And you can proc solitude more frequently than with relentless

Has Slice been fixed to actually be applying the damage reduction in PvP now? Since final shape dropped its not been working despite saying the buff/debuff is active.

It does everything aside from the damage reduction in PvP. AFAIK, Bungie has never mentioned or addressed it. Pretty lame, but with how much hunter ability spam there is at the moment it would probably get very annoying having a damage reduction in every fight you get into.

@@bibleotaku its not a bug it was intended that way for balancing purposes, its very broken actually, the only way you can get ammo is off of player drops.

Lets keep an already niche perk not working because people are always bitching about dodge cooldown like dodge hasn't taken multiple nerfs over the years so if its still op to you it's because YOU'RE bad at the game. It's not like void titan barricade is on demand cover and regenerating extra health, BASE healing rift is overheal that slows down primary deuls to a crawl unless you have specifically built to counter it and people are yelling from the heavens that phoenix dive is better, its not like the other classes have never had perks or whole exotics that make it so when they build around their class abilities its borderline impossible to deul them (looks at pre nerf lorely splendor, prenerf citans ramparts, fucking speakers sight which is still nuts and they plan on turning the orb generation BACK ON), but yeah slice and hunter dodge is the problem. I swear its always the bots in the comments that are the loudest while simultaneously being wrong as hell.

I use a Better devils with slice on prismatic hunter. The only difference is that I use acrobatic dodge to become radiant. It's a fun combo.
Any particular reason why marksman's dodge, instead of gambler's, when you're already getting auto-reload functionality from Spirit of Dragon?

As someone who still loves stasis lock 7:15 is particularly funny to me. Just don't be bad and all of a sudden a mid level stasis warlock's really easy to deal with because you're abilities have KILLING POWER while mine require good positioning, timing, and the ability to INSTANTLY clean up someone or gtfo when I get the freeze. Hell if you're building around coldsnaps you have to push the corner before the freeze happens and just know it'll hit to get the timing right. Winnower forbid someone jumps or the servers decide the coldsnap doesn't feel like tracking today and goes on break 😂

It's very potent if it's played right, but if they're just tossing coldsnaps and freezing people, the counter to that is simply jumping and suddenly it's obsolete

Today I literally sat in matchmaking until it kicked me bc we never got enough players to start a match.
SBMM isn’t unhealthy for anyone. What’s unhealthy is for people who are very skilled and talented wanting to play against people who are not skilled and talented.
That is, very literally, punching down. It’d be no different than a professional athlete coming to the local ymca to play against the locals.
And if that professional athlete ever wants to take it easy and play a casual game with random people? Just fuck them I guess. SBMM forces you to play against the same people at your skill level all of the time with no variance, meaning that if you play at anything less than your recorded best, you just get shit on every game. Decide you want to try a new weapon or loadout you're unfamiliar with? Shit on. Want to play with a less skilled friend? Fuck them I guess since every game they're going to be playing against people far better than them. It also makes it harder to improve at the game if you're only playing against people at your level and never get to experience what high level play looks like in real time. Trying to adapt to someone better than you and learning effective counters to their moves and building muscle memory and reflexes to become better over time. SBMM isn't healthy for anyone. Not the high skill players that everyone calls bullies for not wanting to sweat all the time and not the low skill players that it's supposed to protect.

Second, if you want to have a system that calibrates your sbmm as your skill level grows or declines, sure. I agree.
But yes, sbmm is there to protect low skill level players. It’s also there to provide high skill level players with an engaging and competitive environment. Professional athletes don’t show up to casual environments looking to throttle low skill people for hours on end. You might see one tik tok of an nba player dunking on a fan but generally they don’t do that because it’s bad etiquette. High skill gamers are the only competitive community that I see clamoring for environments where they get to throttle lower skilled players. It’s embarrassing honestly. If you want to play a casual game make a custom lobby and invite your friends. You don’t have the right to subject strangers to your torment.

Your argument is predicated on the assumption that because I am against SBMM that it means that I simply want to steamroll exclusively low skill players. In games without SBMM, the players that you encounter are completely random. It' s the wild west. Some people are going to be worse than you. Some people are going to be better. Some matches are going to be easy steamrolls that are over in like 2 minutes. Some matches are sweatfests where you have to work for every single kill and the ending score is so close that the game could have gone either way. That's just the nature of queueing up with random people. That's the type of experience I advocate for. That's how you get a casual gaming experience. You can't get that with SBMM. With it implemented, you only ever get sweaty matches against people trying desperately to increase their KD by like .01 points at all times. There is no relaxing. There is no fun. Play like you mean it all the time or suffer. If you want that kind of experience, go play ranked/comp playlists. But keep SBMM out of casual playlists.

Hot take: Destiny 2 should have never been released on PC and should have stayed as a console only game.
It has seemingly proven difficult for Bungie to balance, it opens up the game to more cheaters, (many of which go unnoticed and will never be caught) it leaks game file information from data mining, and it devides the community.
This is an unrealistic scenario. The "console exclusive" market is pretty much dead.
I wouldn't be able to play the game if there weren't a PC release.
