It is highly unlikely to happen anytime soon To the best of my knowledge there are no active plans to even consider reopening it, nor to provide a passenger service along this route It last saw a passenger train in September 1992 when the liverpool street to Watford junction service was withdrawn and as the station was only served by this service, it was closed People have proposed a willesden junction to Camden road shuttle but it's not been given any consideration, and with chalk farm underground nearby, I think traffic levels would be too low
not sure if anyone gives a damn but if you guys are bored like me during the covid times you can watch pretty much all the latest series on instaflixxer. Have been streaming with my girlfriend for the last months xD
With Chalk Farm Station on the Northern line nearby, it could provide a useful interchange, so far from being a deterrent to reopening Primrose Hill Station. It would also serve the Camden Town Roundhouse Theatre very well.
Thanks for uploading this. Back in 2010 I flew in from Sydney one Sunday night then tube to Euston and the Caledonian sleeper to Edinburgh? Well being a train spotter in North London back int the 60s I went to have look at the loco, a class 90. I thought we would go up the WCML but due to track work we went up the ECML. How do you get from Euston up the ECML I wondered????????. Well simple, train goes out to Wembly towing a class 90. Lead loco upcoupled, train heading on the up to Euston, through Primrose Hill tunnel then onto th NLR via Camden dropping down to Belle isle and Copenhagen tunnel. I never realised there even was a connection between the NLR and the ECML. I had to watch as we went through Hornsey, a place I clearly remember steam at. Then the long journey simply got the better of me. Next time i looked out the window we were at Berwick .
No problem, I’ve moved in now from freight to pass, this video i took to help me route learn. I ended up signing the route you’re talking about, Wembley, Copenhagen Junction and upto Peterborough 👍
@@martinking7390 Martin I loved this video. I used to spend much time as an enthusiast travelling the NL Line before I moved abroad. Tell me. Is Cannonbury Tunnel still open to Freight traffic. I can remember many years ago in the 70's watching a 37 coming through Drayton Park heading towards Stratford and beyond hauling a rake of MGR wagons. Regards
Pan down at 5:31 but when is it raised again? Is it DC only left at the points? The route straight ahead seems to have continuous 25Kv AC all the way. Maybe the sign only applies to dual-voltage stock joining the DC lines? Confused.
Completely agree about the 'music'. I've watched a lot of Cab Rides on YT that really do well without that noise . Whilst I'm not giving this a dislike I'd say to the contributor that silence is golden .
@@martinking7390 Interesting but passengers cannot travel that route, was in Chalk Farm an hour ago and could see part of the route from the Iron Bridge...

Hi Martin~great video and great cab ride :) I am here to ask for your authorisation to reupload the accelerated timelapse version of your Overground cab ride videos to the Chinese video websites. I will add necessary captions for them to know about the stations~ Thanks very much!
Oh that's close enough Martin! Thank you. I walk over the bridge daily, I hope someday they can allow for a new station there. It's an iconic place, worthy of it's own space.
Hi Peter, tbh I don’t give a f**k if they like the music or not, it was dubbed over to cancel out the in cab noise. Just hit the mute button, it’s not rocket science 🙄
Why all the nastiness about the music its a YT video you don't have to pay to view and its created by someone who doesn't do it for a living doing his best. There is a disused station at 5 mins 30 secs does anyone know its name?
Great videos but awful music. Am I correct in thinking you have another "cab view" account under a different name? Hard to believe two individuals would have the same idea about raucous musical accompaniment.
@@martinking7390 Presumably as you have uploaded it to YT and made it public you want people watch. Perhaps you shouldn't piss all over your viewers opinions and instead take them on board.
Daniel Williams maybe I uploaded the video for people to watch and just needed to overlay a track to cut the conversation out, I wasn’t bothered about what music it was, irrelevant to me, if people don’t like it tough shit, it wasn’t a choice
I have an even better idea, mind your own business and either watch the video or don’t, the primary reason to upload was to aid route learners, and not entertain the great unwashed
This is another route that I've travelled with many other drivers never get bored of it, thanks again for taking the time 👍🏻
yet another great route learning vid, certainly makes life easier, cheers Martin
I agree with earlier comments, the music is crap
was a relief when the music stopped...just didnt go with the vid
It's a wonder man can live at that speed! :)
They should reopen primrose hill station

waxingthenip Hi, I’m no longer on frieght, I’m a pass man now, but canonbury is still open for freight

I drive diesel freight so all irrelevant i'm afraid.
It just applies to the dual-voltage stock joining the DC lines.
John McMIllan not electric (diesel) left goes primrose hill, right upto gospel oak
at 7:14 trains using the 'shoes' go down into that tunnel

I counted three disused stations - sad - anyone know which they were? I'm guessing Chalk Farm was one of them.......

10:45 Loudoun Road
11:45 Kilburn & Maida Vale now Kilburn High Road
12:43 Queens Park West Kilburn? Has modern building on Platform 3. Station not closed.

Jacob Zhu hi, that's fine by me :)
Martin King Thanks very much~ :)
At 5.16. Do you know what the old disused fltfor was?
No, sorry
Primrose hill.
Music has spoilt it
They really should divert the DC lines along here while Euston is being ripped apart for HS2.
Only to Primrose Hill.
Was this recorded on 20th June 2016 or is this an older video?
Boabywankenobi this was recorded around that time when I was route learning
So roughly?
Boabywankenobi June 16, can't remember unless I look in my 2016 diary

Jeez that music is awful! Just so inappropriate to the footage. Thank god for the mute button!
Mr223P there’s also an option not to watch!
