  • So a couple of my friends go waterskiing once a week just outside Dublin and invited me to join them. I decided I'd give it a go and see if I was able to run the slalom course on a mono-ski.
I actually surprised myself on this one, maybe I'll keep at it and try compete next year hahah.
Hope you enjoy and thanks for watching.

Slalom for me is the never ending hunt for perfection, its a bug, i used to wakeboard when is 13-15 years old, stopped doing any towed watersports at 16 and picked up slalom when I were 20, one of the best desicions I ever made! I cant get enough of it!

Very nice work serving, I am a slalom skier that wakeboards...... in fact wakeboarding on the cable during the week has made slalom skiing fun again because it has made me ski fit. you will find that better technique will lessen the fatigue and soreness the next day and the falls are not as painful as a front edge on a wakeboard ..... however very impressive first run in years. I am sure an O’Brien team rider will hook you up with some tips if you keep swerving and you will start crushing it

I did the same thing dave. Grew up skiing but stopped when I started seriously wakeboarding. Tried again recently and immediately remembered how much harder on the body it is. I was in the best shape of my life when I used to ski every day. Now that i’m 38, i’m gonna start skiing with my parents more regularly.

I was a bit concerned at the 43km/h, and then saw that you ramped up close to big boy speeds :). I really think with a better ski and some practice that, as you said, you would love it. If anything, it is a good way to mix up your workout and strengthen muscles which aren't used as heavily when wakeboarding. Just riding straight on a slalom ski is a chore, dragging and elbow is hard enough that it will cause you to vomit at my age :). As long as you are riding at the end of a rope behind the boat, anything can be fun. I'm opposite of you, primarily a skier and a hobby wakeboarder. Great video.
