    for those wondering what speed .. at the highest tournament speed is 36mph or 57.9kph ....this video would be around 32-33 mph or 51.4 - 53.1 kph as he is stil any slower will create more drag... skis perform there best at recommended speed for that particular ski ..length / width / flat spot in certain parts of skis etc ..etc

    Im a beginner...I usually put my right leg forward but my left leg is the stronger one...does it matter which leg is forward? I ice skate as well and do much better spirals on my left leg...should I try with it forward?

    Hi.. I'm not sure but Whats the best speed for a intermediate level?
    I mean.. we are trying here in Brazil using some old skis.. I would appreciate if you help us. Whats the best Speed and why does your ski spray that much water? the one we have doesn't do that. Thank you very much...

    I tried to do this and it feels like I can get up but it splashed so much water in my face in my eyes and nose I can't do it. How do you avoid that?

    • @charliemcfarling4219
      @charliemcfarling4219 5 років тому +1

      I have a couple suggestions. First of all it depends on how much torque the boat that is pulling you has. If it's got a 23 or 25 pitch prop on it and doesn't want to get out of the hole, you're going to be buried in the water for a while and that is certainly tough unless you're pretty good at holding your breath.
      So first of all, make sure you have a boat that can get you out of the water instead of dragging you forever.
      In terms of technique, and how it is easiest for me to get up, I virtually sit on my ski with my hands and the handle right on the top of the ski. The lower you get your hands... the more the ski is being pulled out of the water instead of you being pulled over the front of the ski.
      So, get as low as you can in that ski. One way to do that is to let somebody drag you before they hit the throttle. That pull on your body allows you to crunch down on the ski before the driver hits the throttle and tries to get you up. The key to this technique is to push hard on your back foot to keep the nose of that ski up in front of you and pointed in the right direction.
      To recap, make yourself small on that ski and almost sit on it with your handle in front of your knees and as close to the ski as you can get it.
      May take you a couple of times to get your balance but you'll be surprised how much easier it is to get out of the water when you get your hands down lower and get behind the ski making sure to push hard on your back foot, driving the tip of your ski straight up out of the water.

    What if you don't have a pylon?

    • @pauljager2969
      @pauljager2969 8 років тому

      +TheMagache you can add a pylon to most boats. Usually around $150 ish for a steel one. We made one back in the day using Alum pipe and machined a top.
