So I'm super duper late on this but I've been looking for a game play and I loved urs cuz ur reaction to the game was like me I was on day like 45 and this was when I first played the game and didn't know anything and I fell in love with those trees and I put them all over my base and what felt like 200 of them turned mean it was like 6. Those minions were everywhere I died a very horrible death 🤣🤣

I understand Volx was new to RoG and I know this playlist is super old but for anyone watching this now and new to Don't starve, if you run away from the Birchnut trees to I think 1-2 screens away, you can come back and chop them down for living logs without them hurting you. Don't burn them.
I'm sure you've figured out at this point but I just feel such an overwhelming need to tell you that birch tree agro when you chop down the trees without planting the birch nuts just like the evergreens. It just takes less to agro the birch trees.

Birchnut Tree Monsters are like Tree Ents. Chop down too much of the tree it resembles and it'll get angry and try to kill you. You can combat this by planting more trees that it resembles, such as in your case Birchnuts

+Jill701 The Broken They work very similarly to the Tree Guardians in the base game. They spawn at random when you are chopping trees, and quickly planting the appropriate seed item will placate them if you don't want to fight them.
The longest I've ever gone without making a base was 12 days. So, it is possible to get by without one for a while even though it's not the best thing to do.
This is random but if you put mine night mare fuel in Chester and set his eye thing down it will upgrade him so that he can carry 12 things then you pick his eye thing back up and go on

But yes now that it's out it's genrally better to cook them into better foods in the beggining, since you don't have a ice box or something to make fillers last for a long/decent time. While the cooked foods last longer and are overall better.
I know this is really late but in Don't Starve Reign of Giants what is the best reliable food source because I am at day 25 on the ps4 and I just don't know of a good food source. Because rabbits starve so u can't trap rabbits I know moles r good but there's just now enough. If anyone replies thanks.
+DragonVale Lets Plays\Tutorials I suggest if you aren't playing Webber to make a pig village to harvest meat from. You can feed one and make him attack the others! Turn that into Jerky and you have a really strong food source :D
