I used a GoPro with a GoPro suction cup mount on the top of my car just above the windshield. The mount is rated up to 150mph, I think. I've driven about 20k miles with it mounted and it's always been safe. If you're going to Yellowstone, definitely check out the Beartooth Highway also. My favorite roadway in America.
