Would be cool to have the ability to import community created locations/maps for those of us who aren’t great at the build functions. This will allow the community to build locations by type and the tools will always be fresh.
Awesome Job Matt! This is coming along great. I'm using CT 1 right now for a project that I'm filming tomorrow. (CT 1 has the standing shower and a few other props that were needed to previs) but I'm truly excited to use CT 2. It's come so far!
Can't wait to use this. Just finished a script, getting into pre-viz now. I suspect you're already planning to do this, but it would be nice to have the materials labeled to make it easier for navi. Thanks, Matt!
I may have missed it somewhere, but any way to get a sense of real world scale/dimensions? Most of what I’m doing these days is needing to answer questions from a Production designer about how tall the flats should be, or how big I need the floor or ceiling piece to be. Right now I’m using blender to do this, but would love to use cine tracer since the lighting is so much easier to get a handle on!
Building to scale is something I'm working designing a system to facilitate. The first step is to create a floor plan importer and the pre built assets to roughly "trace" out the floor plan. A fully parametric modelling system in game is a medium/long term goal that tech wise today, doesn't work well in UE5 but should improve as new engine versions come out. At the moment, building to scale in Blender/SketchUp/etc. and importing is the only way to get a perfectly scaled set into CT2.
I feel this is now really headed in the right way. Congrats on this huge update. I'm getting a fatal error when creating a scene now though. I was gonna try it again and give it a positive review for the great effort you're putting in it. Any idea why the fatal error + crash?
I'm looking into this CT2UserSettings crash. People have solved it on their own by deleting the SaveGames folder, but I'm seeing if there is something on my end that is causing it.
Hey Matt, can you pls add the small monitor fiction like CT1. So I can floating around, moving object and see what happening in the frame ? That would help my process of setting up foreground and background a lot faster
Is there any opportunity that you will add a dimension to all the building pieces later? In cinetracer1 it was very handy that was parametric cube when you can set all the exact dimensions and also floor peace use to have a small lines ( kind of squares) on it which helped to calculate the size (each small square use to be 1m)
Yes I'm working on a system to accomplish "scale" parametric building. UE5 at the moment doesn't handle my old technique well, so I'm testing some other tech.
Yes please! Looking great! Just have a project coming up where I want to see what it will look like if light is coming through the slits of curtains along a wall
It will work on MacOS, but it needs to be an Apple Silicon M1-M4 chip. The game is also pretty heavy to run on MacOS, so you would want to most specs as possible. You can try it on your system and refund if it can't run it at a decent 30+ frame rate. My M2 Mini stock can only handle it Windowed 720p.
This is huge!!! So happy to see this progress made even from just the last update.

Appreciate that. I’ll add those bathroom props next update then 🍻

Yeah the Material UI needs categories and labels. I wanted to get this mini update out, it rounds out the general “Editor” update

Yeah that can be added next build. I was just testing that tech in UE5 with the Nodo wheels demos I made last week.

also could you tell me please all the focal lengths in camera now is according super35 or ff sensor??
The camera right now is based on the Alexa 35. In the future the sensor size will be changeable to match real world cameras.
this update it's already available? I just updated but to 0.6.0, Stage A doesn't appears as an option
This mini update will be live later today or tomorrow
In cinemas tracer 2. Is it possible to open the door 🚪 in the inventory?
Not yet. But it’s planned to have the doors controllable in the future
In cine tracer, is it possible to import a set or 3d object made in another program such as skecthup for example?
v0.6.1 you will be able to import GLTF files. I’m making a video on the workflow
is there any way to draw the curtains partially?
Not on that window asset, the new Shower has a configurable shower curtain. Maybe I’ll make more curtain options for each window in the future.

Does anyone know how can I rotate de objets? I am using a laptop
Is this on Mac or Windows? I have a MacOS
