      Because it’s essentially boring if you’re not into two wheels. There’s no crashes there’s no Rubbin’ no household names, and like I said in my previous post, no one knows what the hell manufacturer of these guys are riding so they can’t get behind people who are on Kawasaki‘s, for example. Watching the other type of race, the brand of the vehicle is plastered everywhere.

    I'm confused as to your rules specifying which motorcycles are eligible for this race.
    Hey you guys - in the graphical display of the race order on the left of the screen - you need to also list what machine the respective rider is on.
    That is important to me.
    Thank you for all your efforts to get this great race back to where it used to be. You are doing a good job.

      And possibly add another sensor or three to update rider position rather than once per lap.
      Rather lame compared to "other" international racing... MotoGP, WSBK, etc etc.
      Two days and free watch of 2024 will be here.
      Hope they have gained technical analysis commentators, not so much "Olympic" story festival.
      I doubt both above.

    Herrin runs wide at a lot of corners, but Escalante runs a tighter line throughout the latter parts of the race. So, when Herrin goes for a tighter line for the pass, and Escalante tips it in at that same moment, it's no wonder they collide.

    (Not watching live ) seeing Herrin on the inside as it happened ,it looked like he caused the accident …but seeing the first replay(and everyone after) it looks like dude was pissed herrin got position and didn’t want to give up his line .. mostly because he lifts briefly then recommits aggressively to original line while pushing his elbow out instead of holding his secondary line ….not saying it looked “wrong “ just saying it looks just to be a “racing incident “ or whatever it’s called when no fault is laid… will see after restart how my guess goes 🤷🏼‍♂️😜

      @@vicpnut1 - My man, Herrin went WIIIDE after the contact, he went so deep even after the loss of speed because of the contact he still reached the outside white line. Herrin deserved a back-of-the-grid kind of penalty or even a ride through after the restart

    • @vicpnut1
      @vicpnut1 Рік тому

      @@DanArnets1492 I didn’t watch past the incident close ,till you mentioned Herrin went wide throughout that corner…idk…. Yeah he went close to the line but not into it and it looks like possibly he stood up slightly after contact( like escalante probably should have) which could be why he went a lil wider….but like I said idk, he couldve been aiming defensively to force escalante to slow up….imo it’s too close to call , I still think it could’ve went down as just a racing incident. So the penalty Herron got ,in my opinion (again ),is acceptable. What isnt acceptable imo is that nobody can catch a Ducati with a decent rider… I’m a rookie viewer and tried to not jump on others comments complaining about Ducati having an unfair advantage. At first, I saw it as Ducati found the way around the rules,and Good for them. But now it seems odd that through all Moto classes It seems Ducati is basically guaranteed a podium if not first, assuming no accidents etc… only speculating of course , but the more wins (podiums)Ducati gets and seems to have no problem at getting them via multiple riders, and level(s)of racing ….it gets more difficult to deny that there’s some sort of advantage to riding a Ducati. 🤷🏼‍♂️

    • @LisaMedeiros-tr2lz
      @LisaMedeiros-tr2lz Рік тому

      He stuffed Escalante and continued to widen the turn and his rear wheel touched Escalante's front tire. The front takes nothing in a lean to lose grip. Ecalante did try to check up but still got Herrin's rear wheel. It was not a good/safe pass IMO. If the race directors thought it was a "racing incident", then they would not have given Herrin a penalty at all, but the penalty they gave was nothing of significance. I think they did that in order to make an exciting finish. Also letting Peterson who was lapped have a chance to win. Same reason.

And ultimately,,racing is to sell bikes brands to the public, not riders you never heard of. , so why not at least put next to the riders/bike brand name,as they are ride, and in what place they are in as they ride, Highlighted as they circle. cause again, who gives a shit about some nobody’s name.

    • @snakerstran9101
      @snakerstran9101 Рік тому +1

      I couldn't make heads or tails of that. Unfortunately, the announcers added to the confusion rather than giving a good explanation. How a lapper can go to the lead in less than a half lap makes NASCAR's wacky rules seem reasonable. If I understood them correctly, there were 5 on the lead lap at the red flag and 8 on the lead lap at the restart?
      If nothing else, Peterson should have been placed at the back of the grid seeing as he apparently was the rider just in front of Herron at the red.

    PIT STOP VIOLATION = Added post-race
    KNOCKING YOUR MAIN OPPONENT DOWN = Can be just a measly grid penalty in the restart
    That's some major BS, you got it all wrong and here's how NORMAL race organizations would deal with it:
    ANY MAJOR VIOLATION = A time penalty served at the next stop (if there's such a thing), a ride through, a big grid penalty in the restart (back of the field!?) OR added post-race
    Evil won this race, the guy that kept running wide and ended up knocking his main opponent down won this race, this edition is STAINED

      Herrin performed a wild out of control dive at that corner. Not into the corner. At the corner. Had the other rider had not gone down he then would have been run wide off the track, into the dirty part of the offtrack surface and gone down there. Herrin is a bit dangerous/reckless and a Superbike may provide an unpleasant surprise for him. That being said, the last 10 laps were pretty racy by my standards!

    Escalate went to hot into the corner leaving a MASSIVE GAP for Herrin to go for...
    ESCALANTE CLEARLY came in too Hot causing him to stand the bike up

    Herrin made a clean pass
    The announcer complaining about “ taking out “ Escalante is wrong
    Escalante fell over on Herrin and almost took Josh out , glad Herrin held on . The 6 position penalty was complete crap
    , at least Herrin was able to still overcome that and win the race 👍

    Congrats Josh your a hard worker . All I know. Is when Yamaha comes out with an R9 or some variant along those lines. It better be allowed in super sport. They have already left these super-sized super sports in. Because that’s what it took to finally knock the tried and true R6 off. That Ducati is murder. And it should be in its own class. That bike has no business R6’s and 636’s or even the de tuned face 750’s out there. None of them have anything for that Ducati. And it’s irritating . Cause it’s not even close

    That was a hard earned race for Herrin . He was always being pushed by the fastest bikes and in the most challenges .
    His tires were on their last leg and he had to take a 6 position penalty and 10 laps were issued for the restart but he pushed on to win !
    Congrats ... very exciting race to watch !

      Because everyone has and drives a car, though the vast majority not very well. In the US the number of registered m/c's compared to cages is 3%. In Europe, much more bikes there because it is more crowded and fuel is much more expensive.

      Well, the US media places motorcycle racing airtime behind golf, or bowling, or women's tennis, so there's that. And apparently so do sponsors.

    In the interview during the red flag break, I recall Herrin saying he basically made the move to try shake Escalante psychologically. In other words, there wasn't an immediate racing imperative to make the move. Looks like he got some coaching to change his tune to "I saw an opening and went for it." Between taking out the guy who was clearly the strongest, and well prepared, and flashing his silly Only Fans helmet sponsor every chance he gets, the guy's a liability. Seriously, MA, have a little class with who you allow for sponsors.

    A couple of minutes in and I'm not liking the announcers who can't seem to follow the action as they keep providing way too much color and commentary, meanwhile several seesaw battles going on for the lead and through the pack that are not being dramatized. At 17 laps to go the lead changed a dozen times, exciting racing, yet the announcers natter on about rider training regimens, previous wins, bike setup, yadda yadda, I'd turn off the sound, but would miss out on the screaming motors, the same reason that electric motorcycle racing will NEVER become a thing. Also the camera placement and flow sucks. Did I mention that this track is an abortion for motorcycle racing. MotoAmerica needs a production savvy upgrade.
    If you look at the slomo of the Herrin/Escalante incident, it is evident that Escalante didn't anticipate Herrin taking the turn tighter to the inside and stuck with his original line of cutting the apex which, when he saw Herrin on his inside, caused a brief bobble away from Herrin, which, when checked reflexibly to keep things under control, took him the other direction back to his original line where Herrin now rode and into contact. Escalante reacted with surprise to Herrin's inside pass and that triggered the incident. Red flag at 5 laps was idiot. Two guys down, well off the track, no evident injuries, race could have continued under caution for a lap.

      Yamaha is dominating in MX and SX with Eli Tomac sweeping outdoors/indoors and MXON winning the gold in 2022. They also won in MXGP this weekend. MotoGP is where they need work obviously, maybe Rossi can take over the team like the rumor floating around is suggesting. Ducati has been so dominant in MotoGP and now the Daytona 200...impressive.

  • @LisaMedeiros-tr2lz
    @LisaMedeiros-tr2lz Рік тому +1

    I certainly was on the edge of my seat at the end, but for the wrong reasons. Clearly race directors though Herrin was a fault or they would not have given a penalty (though it wasn't much). Letting Peterson in the thick when down a lap was a disservice to those who rode consistently fast for 180 miles. Then arbitrarily adding another 5 laps to the end of the race. There was complete confusion by everyone: the announcers, the riders, and the viewers. Even the announcers did not realize Cam had a chance to win it until half way into the restart. It is not clear the riders knew either. While it certainly made it exciting, it also was in complete disregard for rider safety. Sure, the riders know the danger and are packed at the start, but there they all have equal fuel load, and equally good tires. Letting damaged bikes out after a long down time seems to go against the idea of endurance racing. Seems like nothing should be allowed to be added to the bikes at that point, even duct tape. It turned into a cluster phuq. The race director Hanna interviewed said "we're adding 10 laps and it will be a fast start". I was like, WTF does that mean? What are the positions? What about those a lap down? Complete chaos and confusion ensued. Is there a rule book? Was it even followed? It had the look and feel of being made up on the spot with disregard for the riders safety or fairness, but the only important thing was to make it exciting. I guess it got too boring to have someone in the lead by 15-20 seconds. We can't have that! We need a photo finish. Not well run AT ALL.
