My heart ached when Ms. Charlotte started to cry. I know where she is coming from and I plan on moving out of the U.S. soon for the same exact reason of safety.
Panama is in my top 3 places to move to. Whenever that move comes, I will be so happy. I’ve lived in Brazil and spent a Summer in Berlin, plus traveling to other places. The US was always just so hard for me to come back to. The stress, the work-culture, the terrible unhealthy food, healthcare making us broke and the cost of living… I’m just so over it. I’m ready for a much more laidback lifestyle and happier atmosphere.
Thanks Jessica. This was a great interview. I'm about to start living in Panama as a remote worker (aka digital nomad) under Panama's new Remote Worker Visa Program. I'd be great to see some a segment on remote workers in Panama and understand how they have adapted to International living while being a remote worker.
gracias, Jessica for this wonderful interview with Ms Charlotte! your last question really drew out such heart-felt and honest feelings, why most of us are leaving the states... to finally breathe a deep breath, without the weight of oppression. see you soon :)
Great interview!!! Charlotte I so appreciate your honesty and vulnerability. You named the reasons why I look forward to leaving and finding somewhere to feel and live free. How I wish that I could retire now, I'd be on the next plane out of here. One day...
I've just finished listening to a morning of Stephanie Perry and logged straight on to my laptop to find Charlotte Van Horn. So here I am on your channel and I've subscribed. I need someone to help me get on Facebook just for ex-pats and in particular Charlotte's group. I'm considering, like Stephanie, spending a few months in the sun each winter. I'm living in London, England, and I'm currently suffering from anemia and vitamin D deficiency. Covid kept the world indoors and locked away for those of us in a cold climate. Ladies, look out here I come!!!!
Congratulations, very positive and informative, stay strong, may God bless you always.I am also a Afro Latino from Panama 🇵🇦, my father was also one of the many black men who had to work in the Panama Canal Zone, he was a 🍖 meat cutter.(butcher) for the American market in Panama. I also a retired Air Force Veteran living in California. Thank you.
I can understand that "difference" she is talking about. Ive felt that difference many times before. Planning on visiting soon. Might even be next month who knows
I hope I get to meet you both when I get there! My house is up for sale and I have packed my things to ship and for my relocation tour. I am determined to live my retirement in Panama.
Very engrossing story from Charlotte ! Thank you to Ramesch ( is it a last name from India ?) for providing it ! I can relate to this story as a Canadian of mixed heritage. I went to Colon city in early November 2022 and was taken aback by the street trash ( for god's sake can people living on the street block organize themselves to get rid of it, drums on the four corners) and the mistrust leveled at me ( a senior citizen) by some landlady asking to pay 5 to six months' rent in advance for an empty 2-bedroom apt for rent ?
Hey Jessica I appreciate your accurate info in regards to the cimarrones. I wanna look into a property out there. Maybe I could connect with you as a conduit. Thanks and blessings.
I appreciated your candor Charlotte. Listening to you speak-- you are so relatable. You're from Glassboro, NJ basically a Philly suburb. I lived most of my life in Philly area. I am going to look for your FB group!
Thank you Charlotte for sharing. Loved your transparency. I visited Panama last year in 2022 on a business trip. I plan to return again for a possible relocation tour in 2023. Until then. Hope to see you soon.
I loved this video, so inspirational. I'm a 45 and plan to visit as this is on my list of places to retire and I will retire early so I can live a peaceful life without all the stress. Thanks for sharing.
Mrs Charlotte thank you for sharing about the black experience in Panama. I was not considering Panama, because i heard that Panamanian treated there black citizens like second class. I will re look at Panama.
Heeeey!! I'm in NOVA too and were planning on expating to Panama (it was between Panama and Costa Rica but we chose Panama for now) next summer. My husband, myself and our kids are visiting this summer to get a feel of the land and get an idea of where we'd like to first live. So exciting to leave here !!
Hello Mrs. Charlotte I plan on moving to Panama in 4 yrs my oldest will be 18 and my two youngest children will be 8 and 9. How is the school system private and public?
I'm taking a sabbatical to reset my life. I have chosen Panama as my sanctuary. I'm so excited about everything Charlotte has had to say. The exodus of Black Americans from the US is invigorating!

Hey, love! I, too, am in the same place as you and mindset to visit/live in Panama.

Ohhh and to hear about the Healthcare for Veterans, that’s awesome. My husband is a retired veteran too.

Thank you for including Colon ! I am not from there but heard of it from my Panamanian friends since the 1970s.
I needed to witness this; thank you for your honesty and transparency Charlotte. Blessings.🙏🏾

Oh yes!! It’s a completely organic response. I’m so grateful for having Panama in my life.
Great interview!!! The minute that she mentioned the veteran hospital made me felt relief and excited to check out Panama!🎉🎉🎉🎉

The title caught my eye. I watched some of the video but it seemed to be more about the lady and her relationship with her husband and daughter. 🤔
Wonderful interview! Genuine and factual.🌻
I live in Queretaro, and I speak Spanish as a second language since age 14. 60 years of Acapulco and other countries around the world.
