When I realized that Reena was reading the letter to her mom, the tears began flowing. This segment is beyond beautiful.

I agree.😢
Myrlie Evers, Coretta Scott King, and Betty Shabazz have become icons in their own right. I thank them, and their children for their courage.
Cuz of their HUSBANDS
Also Mamie Till Mobley,Emmett Tills mother she's also a strong lady after her sons brutal death
Three of the finest women, no finest human beings ever to walk the earth!
@@ThePrinceOfTheTalkboxand their HUSBANDS couldn’t have achieved what they did or had the strength without them!

Who else cried thru this entire letter? And when I saw her mom was there to hear it, wow, what a special beautiful moment for the both of them. 💜💕💜 I feel lucky to have heard this
Me I did. 😢😢😢😢❣️
The women who lost their husbands & children during jim crow and civil rights era are a whole different breed. They raised the next generation alone and with dignity/strength.
Most definitely
With Jesus God, they perservered.
Yes
The cameras didn’t exist in this moment. You could can FEEL the love.
I remember while going through a very tumultuous time in my own personal life my 2 daughters gave me strength and kept by my side non stop.
Hearing her daughter express her gratitude and adoration for her mother is priceless.

To Rena, Beautiful tribute to your mother. Best wishes always.
This is such a great series and so needed in our society: the true History of the American People. This really made me cry! Great job all of you and thank you to Gail for her strength and deliberation.
💯💯💯💯‼️
We have to keep telling these TRUTHFUL stories. It's necessary for the generations behind us.
MY GOD that was beautiful!! TEARS😭😭😭
I was only 2, but through our elementary school years, we learned of your Dad and your mom.
I was born in 1968, and grew up in Pennsylvania. Medgar Evers was never discussed in our schools. Thankfully, my mother made sure to educate me about black history.
@@GigiStar01 I grew in PA as well
@@cil20002000 What part? I was in SW PA. And what decade? I'm probably older than you. 😊
I love that she is giving Mrs. Evers-Williams her flowers while she can smell them.
And fight still runs strong for equality, freedom and justice 🙏🏾
Still being led by so many amazing women of color, too!
God bless the family of Medgar Evers.
How beautiful and she’s her moms twin. Things haven’t changed in this country.
Reena and I are the same age.I remember ŵhen her precious father was senselessly murdered. 5 months before ĴFK was murdered. 5 years later, in 1968 Dr. MLK Jr and RFK were murdered. In my 1966/1967 scĥòoĺ year of 6th grade, our schools in Southern Virginia were finally integrated. June 24, 2023 we will have òur 50th class reunion of the class of 1973. I'm proud to say the lifelong black friends that I made way back in 1966 was all made possible because of her father Medgar Evers and other men liƙ him. I know that he is smiling from Heaven because of the gracious and kind lady that his daughter grew up to be🙏🙏🙏
🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

Thank you Jesus for this great woman of faith and determination!!! We have so much to be grateful for because of her example and mentorship!!! Wow a living legacy!!! Th and you ma’am for your courage and strength!!!
I'm not crying😭😭😭😭. How BEAUTIFUL
Yep I’m crying ….so beautiful ❤
So important for this to be told, and to never forget. They gave their lives for their country just as though on the battlefield, but they never received the benefits. Our nation owes them a debt of gratitude and respect with interest.
