Yes he did! I was flying into Atlanta for a work assignment. There was lightening and wind. The plane keep circling around and around. Sleepy Brown was sitting across from me. The guy behind me was afraid and started praying. It was all good because after we landed he introduced me to Sleepy Brown!
This song will always give me nostalgia because it was a turning point in my life. My mom is white and and my father is black, my mom is from a family where having a child with a black man was considered Taboo until around 2010ish (I was born in 1994) so as a result when my mom would bring me to family events, she would be treated almost as an “outcast”. So naturally she showed me “OutKast” music and it became a thing for her to play their songs in the house while cleaning and I would dance. This culminated when my mom got invited to a wedding when I was about 8 years old, and she got the DJ to play this song, and despite all the reservations they had about black people, nobody could deny that I took over the floor and became the life of the party. Almost all the kids and adults were dancing. I hardly remember it, but some distant family members and my cousins still talk about it till this day, and multiple people even took pictures (sadly this was before video was as popular lol). My mom claims it was a turning point for the family and that I might have been the first step towards ending the subtle racism it was known for lol 🤷🏽♂️😂
Like handin out dark chocolate coated X to the ladies at the door, but way safer & with a groove track so smooth, a dude can just stand there doing a slow nod, & look cool. 😎
