Thank you. I am learning this song and I play it at a slow tempo for now but I hope to gradually increase the tempo once I am familiar with it. Your video is a good reference for me.
This was beautiful Jacqueline. With regard to others saying the tempo was too fast, I thought the tempo was right on the money and didn't feel rushed at all.
Yes, Grandjany published both a Lyra edition (vanderbiltmusic.com/grandjany-trois-pieces-faciles-three-easy-pieces/) and a Leduc edition vanderbiltmusic.com/grandjany-trois-petites-pieces-tres-faciles/), which I am playing here. There are some differences between the two.
Jacqueline Pollauf I have recently purchased the Leduc edition here in France and the text is not what you play, which of course is lovely. I prefer the version you play; it seems more polished than the text I have. The two links to Vanderbilt music don’t work from here in France.
Actually Grandjany has it marked at Allegretto, so a quick tempo, unlike most pieces titled Reverie. However, I think one of the beautiful things about this particular piece is that it sounds great at a variety of tempos.
Very nice, but why so fast? The rêverie ist supposed to be a day dream and a this sounds more like stress 🤔 Many musicians think they have to play fast to show how good they are. This is wrong.
Actually Grandjany has this marked Allegretto in both editions, so I was simply trying to honor his intentions. However, I think this piece is lovely at a variety of tempos.
Thank you! My daughter’s going going to learn this piece ♥️

This version is different than the version I have. Did he publish multiple editions?
