- There aren't many things that get better than a good ol' Southern dirt track rivalry. Take a look back at the last couple weeks here in the Carolinas as Jonathan Hinson and Benji Knight go head-to-head both on and off the track.

The officials at Lancaster should’ve put a stop to that before it ever even got that bad. They let so much shady crap happen and then get mad when somebody lets the other party have it.

Well I agree on the comment about going back out on the track, however the tracks and promoters bear some responsibility in this, from my understanding this deal didn’t start at Carolina a couple of weeks before. They should have laid down the law before that race At Lancaster to let both of them know that this kind of shenanigans would not be tolerated. Usually in those peeing matches the only winners is the promoters who gets a whole lot of drama to sell tickets. Quite frankly that’s why and how these things get out of hand, tear up other people’s race cars and the potential for serious injury. So when are these promoters going to get some guts and actually lay down the law and punishment to everyone involved?
To bad for the other drivers, looks like some decent talent behind the two children playing demolition derby.

Idk I feel like dirt track racing is dying the track owners should give drivers bonuses for being entertainment and scuffles that’s why racing was bet 30 or 40 years ago when you had gritty hard working blue collars racing not business men

Once I started racing Super Late models, I quit racing in the Carolinas all together because of the type of drivers that race there. Laurens is one of the worst. They don't want to race, they just want to play dirty games and fight. Plus the money pay out isn't worth it. they get mad because they cant run with you so there mentality is to tear your car up. These are the types of people who will stay in the same lower class for years and brag about how good they are but still will never move up and prove they are a driver. They will always brag of how good they are on that one track but still yet they wont go anywhere else that has real cars and real clean racing because they know they cant run with them unless they run dirty. They will always be that guy that stays in the bomber class or the supper stock, or whatever your local track calls that class but walk around like they are the next best thing. and then there is that pit crew that has to wait until they are massed together(like in high school for attention) before they will even confront you only to wait for a track official to get in the way to make it look like they are being held back. they only do it because they know the fans are watching and it makes them look tough. real tracks that promote good racing would have had the police on standby to escort both these hooligans off the property and trespassed. there are a lot of drivers that will pass on races in the Carolina's because of this type of behavior and it is helping the sport die out in the local areas. its sad....I remember driving almost 6 to 7 hours to tracks before just to find good racing to avoid this type of mess. this type of behavior is why its so hard to get the Lucas Oil Dirt series venue. Because its not worth their time to go to a track that is just going to try and tear their cars up in a almost non paying event. All of this stuff plays a factor when bidding to get a promotional event with the big series and the more this type of behavior gets promoted or glorified, the more your chances diminish on getting an event that people really want to see.

Because there isn’t much officials can really do. Ban them why that gonna do there hundreds of other tracks across the country. it’s not a series like NASCAR but then again NASCAR can’t even back up it’s decisions look at Kyle Larson NASCAR said it will tolerate ZERO racism after a few months they reinstate him.

This is *GREAT* racing. This is what *NASCAR* and *F1* should be all about. Real racing is boring (especially since they added Hans devices and soft walls). If every Nascar Cup race had drivers trying to murder each other driving in all directions on the track until only 1 driver was left alive, it would be the most popular sport of all time. These two should go down in racing history as the greatest two stock car drivers in the history of earth.
Why can't we go back to the old days where dirt track racing wasnt about the money. And everybody treated each other like family. It's a shame that such an amazing sport and hobby has become about nothing except money and egos. Very dissapointed

I've raced street stocks and ministocks for several years, so I can speak from experience. Shit happens on the track. When your on the receiving end of someone making contact with you, you will 95% of the time think it's intentional. And I was no exception to thinking it was intentional. But I can tell you that when your driving these cars as hard as possible on the edge, shit will happen out there and contact will be made. The good drivers are the ones who can realize this and put it behind them, not lose control of their emotions and getting themselves into a game of cat and mouse. Not worth it.
In regards to this rivalry here, the blue car held on to that grudge for way too long. And what made him look even worse was on the restarts, he would charge into turn 1 and slide up and door the black car, and then the black car would pull away and gap him. Then another caution comes out and blue car does same thing on next restart. Makes him look pathetic because he can't run with him, but every restart he would attempt to door him again and again. Makes him look weak imo.

True the black car washed up into him the first race of this video where he passed him. But imo, the blue car driver isnt any better. He held onto this grudge for far too long. I mean he ripped the bumper and fenders off his car in both of these races. There is a reason these guys cars look the way they do, it's either a lack of talent, lack of emotional toughness, or they just don't give a shit. And that's just the reality off it. Watch the top series of dirt track racing, you don't often seen any sort of retaliation. If they do its one and done. They conduct themselves with a little more integrity and class.

Other than that last stunt I don't see what the silver car did that was so wrong.Common sense tells you that if you go to the outside of someone on a dirt short track at some point youre gonna get squeezed into the wall intentionally or not.
I would have black flagged them from first run in and had their cars towed and banned from track for a couple months. When i was flagging I didn't put up with any crap!!!

Benji was DQ"d and went back out on the track. He should be barred from racing.
On top of that, he went head on at another car, ramming Hinson in the driver's side door. That's incredibly dangerous.
I was there when Benji jumped back in his car and then went in the wrong direction on the track and ran head on into Hinson. This was a immature DA move to do Benji!!!!😠😡🤬😤. Then Brandi comes out on the front stretch and looks lost as kid in the woods!🤔🤔🙄🙄. He did the right thing though as a owner and promoter. In reality they both should have been DQ and banned for the rest of the season and or put on track probation for 2021. ✌️✌️🙄🙄 What I want to know is who is supposed to govern Brandy when he races being that he is the”Track Owner-Promoter”. Because over the past few years Brandy has done some of the same BS with Timbo Mangum. I know it’s a “Dirt Track” but this place next a extreme makeover. Concessions are very clean considering it’s a dirt track. The bathrooms are a freakin joke absolutely nasty unhealthy period. The health department or some county agency with jurisdiction needs to tell him to clean the RR or we will shut the track down until it’s meets protocol.

Both men need to be penalized. Both showed they can't hold their crap together. Both showed obvious malice when it came to sabotaging each other. Benji just took it a step further and lashed out, therefore had the last word.
Track officials lets it go WAY to far.
Guys working turns and on the track have to deal with this mess calls come from tower. Should have been barred for coming out wrong way and hitting drivers door. Rules are in the book go by them. Gets in the pits women get involved then you do have a mess along with the ones that have had numerous cans of liquid courage consumed

This shit don't happen at my local track. After 1st incident they both get a warning. 2nd incident they both get parked. 3rd incident they get parked for the season. Coming back on the track to retaliate is instant lifetime ban. We like our racing. If you want to see a demo derby go to the fair.

Geez there is a bunch of “Karen’s” in these comments. Clearly haven’t grew up at the track like us. Benji is a hot head yes, but Johnathon just can’t stand that Benji is that much faster. And Johnathon won’t ever go face to face with Benji unless he has about 15 more people to go with him. This is nothing compared to some of the other rivalries that have been at Lancaster. U ladies pull ur panties up and enjoy the racing, this track has came a long way from the old days. Great environment to enjoy quality racing, this stuff is about 3% of what happens there. For the most part it’s all clean racing. #quitwhinningthrowsomedirtonit
This is what NASCAR needs racing like this with drivers the fans can relate to not rich kids.
Simple fix to all of this at both tracks. When either show any intention of causing a problem just DQ them both right then and barr them for life. Problem solved and the racing continues with both out of it. Neither track will do that tho because it sells tickets at a later date because now there is a rivalry.

I think Jonathan should have called for the ambulance for head & neck injuries, little man benji would have to deal with assault changes with a deadly weapon and premeditated at that.

I think they both should be disqualified for the rest of the season. But Benji should be out for life, after hitting the other guy like that, that is intrinsically trying to hurt him and put him out of the race. I love a good race with rubbing and bumping but that's getting carried away.

Fastest way for John to solve his problem with Benji is make the 48 fast. Slower than the 17. Not to be too blunt about this, John seems like a good driver, but his car is too slow to beat Benji in a straight out race, can't even keep up with him. Needs faster parts.

Benji is now a staff favorite at Lancaster. And Johnathan Hinson is the “bad guy”. I always refer to this race about how shady Benji is and will always be. Benji has a huge ego and should leave Hinson the Hell alone.
