Haha, awesome stuff Andrew. Just looked at the dates, and as you were on your way up the hill I was driving past on the way out to Applecross and then round the coastal trail up to Ullapool. Now I know how amazing the views are from those massive looming mountains I skirted round the edges of... 👍
Superb stuff! I'm picking up one of those Skydio 2's at some point! I almost pulled the trigger on an Air 2s but was concerned about the restrictions on "legacy" drones in 2023. I've gone for the mini 2 which I'll use for the cinemamatic landscapes and I'll try to get the Skydio for the following. Thanks mate - Chris.

I've been on that summit, walking of course. Fantastic area for walking and Mountain biking 🚵♀️. Great views, better than ours and you are spot on that there's no substitute for seeing it yourself. The Drone footage is making a huge difference to your videos, the steepness comes through. Some quality bike handling on steep ground, Great stuff as always 👏 👍.

Lovely video, the drone footage is outstanding, proper big mountain adventure! I’ve been lucky enough to have done the descent from the Bealach twice, once in a point to point from glen afric to morvich (in the long hot summer of 2018) and last year as a loop via the bothy. I would recommend it go on any mountain biker’s to do list, in fact watching this, I wouldn’t mind doing it again😀
I do the munros on foot. 107 done. Would love to helicopter in and ride down. The pushing uphill puts me off. Now an ebike would be fun ( plus spare battery)

The Syndicate put out a video a while back that helped sort my wandering bite point, if you Google "Shimano Wandering bite point" the first link should be to an MBR article that has a link the video in :) hope that helps
Somebody else in the comments recommended that video. I’ve now given it a go and it has made the brakes feel better overall, with a better bite point. It unfortunately does still wonder a bit, even when cold🙁
Very nice. That drone is the nuts. I have questions. Have you thought about naming the drone? The last one was clearly the Father Dougal of drones. This one is an excellent little pilot so I’d name it Winkle after a famous Scottish WW2 (and beyond) pilot. Also, where does Piers keep his stuff? For a day like that I’ve got food, drinks, spares, tools. Good cornice advice too. 👍👍
I just call my drone the Terrier, as it’s tenacious and doesn’t let go. Piers carries less than he should in my opinion, but I’ve always got a backpack for these rides and have most things that we would need.
That was a truly brilliant video. The drone has certainly taken your videos to the next level. What as the ride out of 10? Looked close to a 10 from what I saw.
Putoline HPX R 2.5 (yes suspension fluid) will sort out your brakes, I've been using for 6 months with zero issues and no pump up. Lower viscosity means the piston retract back faster.

Regarding your Shimano brakes: get rid of the original shimano oil and put some Putoline hpx 2.5 in there - my BR-M8120 works perfectly since I did that!

Schwalbe Magic Mary/Hans Damph front/rear with Stans standard sealant. No punctures with this setup so far.

Hand held shots are all done with an iPhone 12 Pro , with a bit of work in editing

Piers didn’t carry enough in my opinion, but I carry plenty, so hopefully could have us both covered if it came down to it.
