Hey guys! I'm very new to mountain biking and have greatly improved my skills thanks to your videos. One thing that i thought would be helpful is if you could provide a list of the tips at the end of the video so we can screenshot it for easy reference when we're out practicing. Absolutely love you guys! Your videos are always very entertaining and educational but what i love best is the fun you have with each other... I'm always giggling out loud in random public places and people must wonder what I'm watching that's so funny. And watching you do what you do..... holy cow i wish I'd started this 30 year ago! Much respect to all of you for your dedication to your craft!🚵♀️
I picked up the trackstand because I really wanted to do all of the log rides and catwalks at my bike park. How I learned is pointing downhill going as slow as possible and when I lose my balance just roll out of it, try not to put a foot down and just start over. Before I knew it I was trackstanding on flat ground, a 4 inch wide skinny that's 4 feet off the ground is a little different. :)
I'm exactly the same. Anything where I'm throwing my weight forwards I can manage with ease. But pulling a real juicy manual or wheelie just seems to be a pain in the arse.
Wheelie is what i struggle with, just cant get that perfect point, either i gotta jump off cause its going too high, or its too low, although bhops are easy for me =/
I used to do stand up wheelies on my BMX when i was a teenager, I fell off the back showing off to girls while spinning out... 25mph strides with a face of terror is NOT cool!
+James Mitchell thanks for clearing that up in broke my collar bone about 6 weeks ago and I'm waiting for the call that says I can get back on my bike today so when I'm more confident I'll try that
Ive naturally started using endo turns while commuting in the city on a fixed gear. You gain so much more maneuverability with that trick its kinda nuts.
I am 14 and have a Santa Cruz Bronson. I can do the first four pretty good. The bunny hop not as high as he did unless I use clip ins. I just haven't even heard of the endo. I'm going to work on it!
I just got me my first Norco hard tail bike as a begginer rider. Can't wait to hit some cool trails. Will definitely be putting my progress on my channel. Thanks for the advice will definitely be watching this video more than a few times.
@@lexflodstrom253 The year does not matter, I also have a Marlin 7 (2018) and I can bunny hop a good 2 feet with it. Trust me, I was in your shoes 3 months ago but with a lot of practice, I got it down.
I've been practicing a skill called falling off the bike. Ever since I mastered it, I can even let some mysterious red liquid spill, which isn't important btw so you can try to do the trick worry free! Occasionally I see something white (almost skeletal) piercing through the skin. Like I said I have been practicing this so it is completely fine. The negative part is that I feel oxygen deprived sometimes and I have to use a cast when the white bone structure sticks out (I don't know why i have to tho)
Hardtail bike (without rear suspension) is most suitable for wheelie usually for first time use 1st gear after you can do it for 2 meters use the second gear give a hard kick on the pedal and start pedaling not too fast not too slow
Some stuff can only be done with clipless pedals - however there are still people riding their bikes with normal flat pedals, you can't bunnyhop with flat pedals and endo can also be done very limited with flat pedals
When I was a kid, on a basic bike, I could do a wheelie for blocks, no problem. Now I'm 57, ride a full suspension MTB, with SPD pedals, and am lucky to go for 8 seconds (it's mostly luck of the draw). Drives me mental.
Got all of them on lock except super long wheelie I can do about 30 to 40 feet then it all falls apart. Seems I am not at a solid balance point. On my Kona hardtail. Seems I just keep accelerating till I can’t keep up. Feather the rear break is probably the key. But also concerned the actual balance point is uncomfortably far back. I am 6’2” weight 170 lbs. I adjusted the seat as far back as it goes. I guess I could get a different seat post to move it back some more. Lol. any tips you can throw my way to keep me up longer would be awesome. would be awesome. Practice practice practice practice
Waseem Zia ive been riding for over 15 years and would say im pretty good at it. Still cant sustain a wheelie. Dont sweat it, long wheelies are for showing off, not riding well ..
ConsciousInteractive That's true. I think the track stand is a good skill to have but I've managed fine on road & MTB's for years without bothering too much with the rest.
+Calum Spencer Yeah the track stand is not so necessary but if you can't bunny hop or lift your front wheel you'll look like a complete idiot on the track which I hope you don't ;)
How to stay balanced on cornering on a hybrid bike with pannier bags and slim 700c wheels? The wheelie is tough as in the city it feels difficult to mount those kerbs with all those pedestrians, my arms turn to jelly just at the kerb or I lose my balance if there is a human obstacle.
Can you do a video , not only list what skills ... , but how to do properly to them and what to pay attention for. On a hard-tail if possible. So we can see better what to do with body position and balance as I feel a full suspension bike is like cheating or not revealing the proper body positions because the rear spring adds a lot ( for bunny hop ) ) Great video's by the way , subscribed !
I can’t endo or bunny hop but I am trying. Suggestion that I learned the hard way is to use snow or something to stop you from getting massacred when going otb on an endo

jonathan spittlehouse well said, i see kids pulling wheelies and endos all day long, put them on a trail and all the time and practise they put into these little showing off traits leaves them inexperienced and unbalanced when confronted with a trail.
jonathan spittlehouse you clearly have no understanding of the benefits of these 5 skills ! Has nothing to do with showing off , has everything to do with absolute bike control. If you’re not in control of the bike in every situation then the bike is controlling you and eventually it WILL end in injury.
To bunny hop shoot down a hill and off a lil jump. You will feel what the bike wants you to do to get higher. Wheelies take practice and a lot of commitment. I struggle with getting back far enough to keep it up. Because u have to be a half inch from falling backwards. I think the biggest technic to learn with all of this is body position.
