Printed mine in TPU...soft so can be clamped, and made to fit the pods on the ends. Rode with ’em on for a summer, held up to heat and petrol beautifully
ABS is badly affected by alcohols (more by methanol than ethanol) and petrol. It loses over 95% of its tensile strength so you might want to rethink the velocity stack material. The point of the stack is to contain the fuel that gets pushed back out of the carb when the valve shuts so they get showered in fuel mist. PLA is more resistant to ethanol but is not resistant to petrol. Polypropylene is resistant to both petrol and ethanol which is why air boxes from OEMs are made of it.
Ah right .. To be fair this will be on for one run only, so as long as it last that long it could be made out of marshmallow for all I care lol I'll see what filament Matt has though as if Polyprop I'd available, we may as well use it. Thanks matey 😁👍
Loving this project, got my first bike (at 40 years old) last November, had it out for a few spins and in January I broke me feckin collarbone (not bike related, slipped on some ice) Can't wait to get back on it, these videos help keep me going. Loving the channel Quickie :-) (Doctor says another 3 weeks) 🙂 Edit: Bike is a 2003 FZS600 Fazer
Oooooo collarbone... I've done mine a few times now leaving them all lumpy and bumpy. I hope you heal up quickly matey and thank you very much for watching the channel 😁👍
Just a thought, if the stacks work in ABS you can actually get them 3d printed out of metal or titanium from companies online that commission prototyping jobs.
It's an idea, but I'd rather just turn them myself if we go that route. I'll give the cad drawing to the new owner if they want it so they can get them made 😁👍
I am a latecomer to your channel but I am dead jealous of your amazing setup. Much better than my 'tit in a shed' setup on my channel. I am looking forward to catching up with your work. It looks great.
angle it to the seat brace... the higher option.... no brainer. anyone that says different is wrong. :D. Where did the bit of exhaust come from, the stepped bit? if ebay and it isnt as described or requested, open a dispute and get it refunded. the more sellers get away with selling crud, the more theyll do it....

Good to know, thank you matey. It only has to last for one run at the end of the day 😁
So happy to support you sir , my family all have COVID and its kicking our ass.stay strong all the best mate .
Much appreciated matey, thank you 😁👍
Have made loads of aluminium bicycle handlebars using the sharpy method, always works for me.
I never knew it was a thing..!!

To smooth the inside of the ABS velocity stacks, a bit of acetone on a lint-free cloth will do the trick, don't put too much on as it will melt.
Thank you matey 👍

It looked like del had marked it up for you with his sharpie😂 keep up the good work fella 👍
Hehehe... Luckily, I just burnt it off again 🤣😂😅
Best of luck mate; loving the series.
Thank you matey, and thanks for watching 😁👍
if you are using bar end indicators I dont think you need them at the back as well as they are visible from the front and the back
Somebody else has said that, in which case this just got a bit easier 😁👍
If i were lucky enough to win that bike ,my neighbors will have the joy of waking up every day to the sound of freedom lol
Hehehe... 🤣😂

Hope your feeling better mate.:-)👍🏻
A bit better today... I just have NO energy at all 🤣😂
I know that feeling mate and I haven’t even got Covid.😂😂😂
I'm sure I saw somewhere that using plan soap and heating it till it goes brown is a good way to tell when aluminium is heated to the right temp.
You can get heat crayons apparently... When they melt on the panel, it's up to temp and.tou get different temp crayons...
You can’t beat a bit of ‘flange’ 😂
Hehehe 😂🤣😅
Suggest you clamp it on the pipe and test the noise level before welding it on.............
That's the plan matey 😁😊

Thanks for watching matey 😁👍
Regarding your licence plate cone that wouldn't unfold, make a thin slit in the CAD model where you want the seam and it should then unfold
I did that in the end matey, thank you 😁👍
👍
😁

I'll end up using it at some point, so no Biggie really 😁👍
I would've kept YT out of the Sva conversation and communications, might invite an over zealous inspect.
There's nothing wrong with that in my book... At least you'd know it's bang up to scratch hey 😁👍
Just for the test couldn't you just get 3 more o.e. air box velocity stacks instead of getting 4 made fella?
These are only getting used on the Dyno matey. The bike will have the new exhaust system and pod filters fitted for the MSVA test
Waffle away
Hehehe 😂🤣
