Lagos to Ibadan, Abuja to Kaduna, Warri to Itakpe are all standard gauge rail lines, with more modern trains. But Port Harcourt to Aba is narrow gauge rail line, with outdated bolekaja train.

The state do not have money, so they have rehabilitated the one on the ground. You can't compare it with Lagos state blue rail
Is SE and SS part of Nigeria? Check out Station Plazas in Lagos, Ibadan and Abeokuta

The rail system in Lagos was developed by Lagos state. The Port Harcourt-Aba-Maiduguri is a federal project and not a brand new one. It was just a rehabilitation of existing rail system.
So the two aren't comparable brother. The state governments can then expands on that to add modernization to connect the state. Federal governments does not invest into intra states transportation. The federal train system in the SW are the same standards like everywhere else. I am not sure if you ever board train from Lagos to Ibadan or Lagos to Abeokuta, you will see they are not the same as that you see within Lagos.

There are no modern rail in the list of narrow gauge.
Whatever train they're going to be bringing, is still going to be the same repainted outdated train.

Many countries with narrow gauge rail like South Africa are finding it hard to move from outdated narrow gauge to standard gauge.
Instead of the Nigeria government to adopt to the modern rail system, they're still thinking backward. Putting infrastructure like it was in the 19the century.
Believe me, it will cost more in the future to replace this narrow gauge rail.
No wonder minister Amaechi got angry when the federal government picked narrow gauge for SS to SE over standard gauge after completing standard gauge rail from Lagos to Ibadan.

Rotimi Amaechi was transport minister that approved this shaby project for the SE and Rivers state. Why couldn't they extend the rail lines to Akwa Ibom and Cross Rivers state, but was able to build a modern track from Katsina to NIGER Republic....? Shameful!!!!!😢😢😢😢
