Thanks for another great review! When you mentioned the Arthurian influences, the “people going to places” plot really clicked. You could have hundreds of pages of knights just wandering the woods back then! 😂
That's a chunk of a book, omg! Interesting opinions, it sounds more like a exploration/discovery book? And 75 action-paced pages in that chunk can likely only be defined as a mega cliffhanger! I liked your comparison with ASOIAF, since it sets expectations very well. Thank you for sharing, José!
That confirms my thoughts that life is too short and I am very aware of "time sinks" activities i.e. chunky books, 500 hrs longwinded videogames . I will stick to short stories / novelas of 150 around pages average maybe a bit more 300-350 pages if there is a very interesting book around. That is what I can reach with my current short attention span.
@@JosesAmazingWorldsWow, I am speechless! Those Manager/Management games (i.e. Football Manager, F1 management and so on) are very addictive. I am surprised there have not been successful replicas with the comeback of classic board game format.
But the characters do meet, though, particularly before going on their separate ways. Two instances in Dragonbone Chair (which suprisingly parallels GoT): 1) In Hayholt we are introduced to a bunch of primary and secondary characters, who, in that very place, directly and indirectly interact with each other. 2) The last third of the book where most (if not all) of primary characters are in Naglimund, planning their actions for upcoming skirmish with Elias's army (and eventually Norns). Only after the siege we can see how narrative splits into a number of vaguely interconnected stories, now told through different POVs.

@@devinagonistes yeah... Bit of a weird book in that I would have thought the editor would have said something about it... Maybe they did!
