*uses 200% of the brain* It would technically be of higher brain capacity to lift larger weights simply because it will make you become used to lifting heavy weight and thus, make you stronger.
Exactly! As a biologist it frustrates me, when people think we don't use 90% of our brains. People just can't use 100% of their brains at the same time. That's all.
If we use 100% of our brain at the same time would consume a lot of energy and nutrients. Electric signals travel throughout the brain not at the same time to save energy.
I’m guessing the “10%” idea came from the notion that a minority of our thoughts and actions are consciously done , while the majority are subconsciously done. And that notion became distorted into a physical translation.
The enhanced ability of the 100% usage has more to do with mental organizatiol functionality. Controlled focus vs normal functionality. Anyone can fingerpaint , but only a peek performing artist can make a masterpiece.
As I read, it originates from that in brainscans, if you freeze frame it, it is roughly 10% that is highlightened but if you let it run, it shifts constantly so within a minute, all has been used many times.

I've heard that we don't use most of our brain (I don't remember whether it was exactly 10% or not) but I assumed that we just dont use most of our brain at the same time, while over time we do use everything. Different parts of our brain do different things so it actually makes sense we dont use everything simultaneously, maybe it would just be a huge mess if we did. By the way, first time I came across this myth was reading a book where the author seriously believed that dogs are smarter than humans and may even be capable of talking like us although they hide it. The thing about not using our whole brain was used to justify it.
I’d say if we used 100% of our brain, we would be able to do amazing things, but coming at a price of being too aware of our surroundings and our bodies that it could drive us crazy. I think different parts of the brain are used at different times as necessary so that we can remain sane. But why didn't our brains (possibly ourselves as a whole) developed itself in such a way that it would feel normal to manually control your own body and accomplish amazing things at the same time, full control over your body would give you the benefit of forgetting the pain in a certain part of your body, focus your antibodies on certain parts of your body, restoring your immune system completely, changing your blood pressure and body temperature depending on the environment, have total control over your neurons which would result in you being aware of everything you've seen in your entire life because the memory in your brain never disappears, can change hormones being pumped whenever you need to like pumping up dopamine to the point that nothing could make you feel bad about something if you don't wish to or you could see the entire world in a different perspective which you could make your thermoreceptors to focus on something, seeing the world like your eyes are a thermal scanner or you could change your adrenaline levels to such a point that you could literally brawl with a lion when feeling in danger, you could make your muscles work 10 times as faster and stronger at the cost of lots of energy but in the end when you're victorious you could acquire the food and energy you need, basically making humans megamind supreme beings capable of both destruction or endless knowledge (if you somehow find a solution to your entire body working automatically while your brain is fully focusing on intelligence)
The 10% use of our brains I've heard was related to at any one moment in time, not that 90% of it is never used. I think whoever wrote this episode missed that. Of course we constantly access every part of it, but when is 100% of the brain running at full capacity simultaneously? Obviously probably not as super enhancing but still wondering.
We do use all or almost all of the brain during a busy day, but not at the same time. Various parts and circuits of the brain are dedicated to do different things, like talking, decision making, writing, recognizing songs or faces etc. Trying to use the whole brain would be like trying to render a 3D animation faster by adding a sound card, network adapter a vending machine and four GameBoys to boost the capabilities of your GPU- it would help by minuscule amount at best, or not work at all in the most likely scenario (in case of brain that would be having a seizure).
Knowing that we already are using are full capacity of brain makes me happy and think that know one else can be a super hero eather and that I am important with all my brain power
I have come to the conclusion that the more you use your brain, the more capable it is on solving complex problems. It's like, use it or lose it. If you only follow principles set down by others, you may not be as creative as you could be. Followers only follow rules set down by others. A leader creates it's own way of doing things. They think outside the box. They create new ideas. Their ideas become the new laws.
As for a suggestion for mental exercise: *conlanging* (creating constructed languages). When you are creating a unique language with actual grammatical rules, sound, and function, you are doing something creative, fun, and something that wracks the brain into gear. It's both logic puzzle solving and artistic endeavor simultaneously. And you'll do something better with your time than watching TV all day.
This video has given me hope and ideas for achieving my goals reading math and helping others really will go a long way never knew a person refining themselves like that could help them so much

honestly the reading part is true, I wish I could've known that back in high school though
“ the idea of us using only 10% of our brains” that seems right
The 10% use of our brains I've heard was related to at any one moment in time, not that 90% of it is never used. I think whoever wrote this episode missed that. Of course we constantly access every part of it, but when is 100% of the brain running at full capacity simultaneously?
Obviously probably not as super enhancing but still wondering.
Let this be a lesson kids, study, Study, STUDY!!!
If we used 100% all at once? Violent and fatal seizure
Ahh like that one black mirror episode
I love the meme format this is based off
What if we used 100 percent of the brain...

Every meme UA-camr used 100% of their brain to edit and create some memes.
Hi I’m a random UA-cam commenter, I’m currently using 100% of my brain.
Well just 100 % but I am using infinity
Aman Singh nooooooooooooooooooooooo
How and I'm using God's percent now what
I have come to the conclusion that the more you use your brain, the more capable it is on solving complex problems. It's like, use it or lose it. If you only follow principles set down by others, you may not be as creative as you could be. Followers only follow rules set down by others. A leader creates it's own way of doing things. They think outside the box. They create new ideas. Their ideas become the new laws.
The infographics show: you will only be using a piece of you brain at once
markiplier: *its big brain time*
We already use 100% of our brain everyday
At the same time? You activate everything in your body at the same time? Even muscles that complement each other?

As for a suggestion for mental exercise: *conlanging* (creating constructed languages).
When you are creating a unique language with actual grammatical rules, sound, and function, you are doing something creative, fun, and something that wracks the brain into gear. It's both logic puzzle solving and artistic endeavor simultaneously. And you'll do something better with your time than watching TV all day.
"in this flat non exciting word" that earth is not flat!!!
