Rob I can't wait for more Reverse Flash vids. This latest issue just retconned his origin story didn't it? Seems like they combined a few diff versions of Reverse Flash into this one character. Love it so far.

Spidey also HATED that power when he had it. One of the more interesting things about that arc was his adverse reaction to gaining more power. His mantra of "with great power comes great responsibility" is one he employs out of a sense of guilt and obligation. If there is something that happened that he could have conceivably stopped with his abilities, then he will feel responsible for not doing anything. However he took solace, even if it was subconsciously, that some threats were beyond his ability as Spider-Man, and thus were not his responsibility. He never felt obligated to go after Dark Phoenix or similarly powered beings because there was nothing he could do against them.
While he had the power cosmic however, those allowances he gave himself to not feel guilty about super powered threats he couldn't handle fell away. Suddenly he had so much power that the weight of EVERYTHING was on his shoulders. He could barely function while he was that powerful because he was utterly terrified of the responsibility attached to it.
Definitely one of the more revealing arcs about his character, I personally quite enjoyed it when I read them as a kid.

I wonder if the Captain Universe power is limited by the host's problem-solving ability? Adult Peter Parker is a PhD bio-geneticist with a specialty in human mutation. And a concentration in genetics means a _ton_ of organic chemistry knowledge. Meaning that if Spidey understood how to manipulate the X gene, he could recreate all the powers of every mutant in the Marvel universe, and then some.
Doctor Doom on the other hand is a strategist and a cyberneticicst. Matt Murdock is a lawyer and mixed martial artist. They would take fundamentally different approaches to wielding that kind of power.
As Rob said, the Uni Power is very context sensitive. Not really based on knowledge though. When you become Captain Universe you are given the retroactive knowledge of the previous wielders, which I would think is greater than any individual's intelligence and experience alone.
The context comes from the base ability of the host. During Annihilation: Conquest, the host was a human soldier. Unlike Spidey, he was not God Tier in his abilities. I imagine like most possessing influences in Marvel, you are given a new powerset that augments whatever you had initially also.
So Doom or a human soldier wouldn't be as powerful as Spider-Man or any other Superhuman in Marvel, regardless of intellect.
In Annihilation: Conquest, when Gabriel Vargas was Captain Universe, the Uni-Power actually bounced possible solutions off of him.

I really hope they have the guts to let the story play out properly onscreen. The only one who defeats Thanos, is Thanos. The Avengers and every other hero of the MCU are mere fodder and should be nothing more. Just as they were in the original Infinity Gauntlet story.

The writers at Marvel comics are beyond Omega level. They can nerf any character, change and create universes, they can kill off a character and bring them back to life, fix continuity errors by creating another reality all of that.

I remember actually first seeing Captain Universe Spider-Man as an alternate costume in the old Spider-Man game. I saw him and was like "What the hell is this?!?!" and then went and discovered all the awesomeness me ruined in this video on my own. Good times. ~_~

So in other words is Spidey as Captain Universe is stronger than me in my Super Form? Or am I stronger than him in my Super Form?
No offense Sonic, but I think that Spidey might be stronger, because of the abilities that he gets. Not just as Spider-Man, but as Captain Universe, when he is fused with the Uni-Power.
Sorry Sonic, but I think that Spider-Man might win because he has powers that rival gods when he becomes Cosmic Spider-Man. Like for example, if you're in your Super Form, he can be able to take that power away from you. It says that he has a lot of powers when he is bonded with the Uni-Power and becomes Captain Universe.
I have to agree with Tails and Knux on this one. It is also said that Spidey as Cosmic Spider-Man can punch the Incredible Hulk into orbit. Not just that, but when as Captain Universe, Spider-Man would be aware of everything with the Uni-Power and his Spider-Sense combined and also retains the memories of everybody who has been Captain Universe before him.
Hmph. He does have a disadvantage though when his is Captain Universe, and that is to bring the dead back to life. That's one thing that he can't do, which is a damn shame. Because if I was the one who was bonded with the Uni-Power and become Captain Universe, and have the ability to bring people back to life, I would've resurrect Maria without a second thought, and then save the world. But, it is what it is I guess.
Sorry Big Blue, but I gotta go with Webs here. Even though you maybe as powerful when you are in your Super Form, but Spidey is more powerful when he is in his Cosmic Form as Captain Universe. I don't think that you might beat him, even as Super Sonic, because he has a lot more powers, than just his normal abilities as Spider-Man.
I read this comics back in 89. I never got the impression he was as powerful as you've proposed.

I wanna help with the enigma force info. Prince Wayfinder of Ithaka is a blind time-traveler from 15,000 years into the future who evolved into The Enigma Force . He did this by bonding with something called the sword in the star, counterpart of Excalibur, stuck in the last remnants of Galactus at that time. Prince Wayfinder bonded with the power, went back in time with last of the humans left in that time to primordial earth (Around the time of Gaia, Atem, Set, and the elder gods) Found it inhospitable and made the microverse then turned into The Enigma Force after that..

Having watched Variant's episode of the same topic: Cosmic Spider-Man, Rob I felt your video was explained entirely better in every sense of the fashion (not trying to take anything away from Variant) though.
You should make a video about Kaine Parker, especially about his *Other* form because I still find it tacky how he was able to kill Solus, while Cosmic Spider-Man, who is basically *God*, lost to Solus.

While he hasn't done that proper he did how powerful is legion age of x, there of course is also the lead up to that where Legion proves himself to be more powerful than the elder gods as well as that Illyana Rasputin's soul sword is a major counter to Legion and that without her soul she was kind of insane.
