I appreciate the perspectives. I owned a w204 from new for a decade, was a great car. I didn’t like the w205’s interior and overall it wasn’t as comfortable to me…sounds like this one would be a good fit.

I like it but I just don’t trust the Renault/Nissan engine

Renault has nothing to do with the C-Class. That’s still firmly under manufacturing by Daimler-Mercedes proper. Renault is only involved in the diesel engine for the A-Class and some of the commercial Mercedes vehicles. Daimler/Mercedes would be crazy to give up manufacturing for the C class, the E class, or the S class, or any of their performance variants.
