Susan, you’re ’spot on’ with your teaching!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️❤️
Your slides are top tier 👌 I’ve been watching your videos for a while, but can’t recall if you’ve ever made one about how you create them. If you haven’t made a video on it yet, you totally should!!
so true!!
Love your videos, Susan. I look forward to you Sunday videos every week.☺️
Love the word problem illustrations!!! So cute!! I think the parents will really enjoy seeing them and having their kiddos tell them about it! 💖💖💖
Hi Susan. Love your videos! I was wondering if you could share some math/literacy games you provided parents??? It was on a handout and II believe you shared them last year??🤗
I really enjoyed your today's video Susan! Lots of lovely ideas, as always! I'm just grateful I discovered your channel a few months ago! Keep going, lady! Congrats by a fellow teacher to a great teacher!
She totally got me through the last two years in grade one--I was so overwhelmed until I had some good routines and resources to work with.
Our fall testing (and MOY, EOY) has 10 individualized tests and one (encoding) that they can do together. It took almost 3 weeks to get all of my kids tested. I wish our district would do something like yours does!
It's so nice to just be done with it and have the data right away!!
oh my! That sounds daunting!!
I love your video. You have great teaching strategies, and I get many ideas from your videos. ❤
Thank you!
Thanks for another great video with so many good ideas! I really enjoy using some strategies you’ve talked about when teaching writing with my firsties!
You are so welcome!
A great video, Susan!
Question for everyone--what is everyone doing in fall for art? I'd like to do some fall-themed art in grade one that I can leave up for a little while (and not feel pressure to switch it out in two weeks). I have a small class but have a large art bulletin board to fill so I appreciate any medium-large-ish pieces of fall themed art you'd suggest! Thanks in advance :)
Love your videos every week! Where did you get your mazes from that you use in your morning work time?
Love your room. How do you have the books behind you (your library perhaps) organized in the colored bins?
Hi Susan! I love the emotions unit!! Excited to try it! Question about centers.. I am excited to try them this week. When you give phonics practice pages, are they practicing past learned skills or ones you are working on currently?
It depends on the class and week! Sometimes it is a review if its a trickier skill and we've moved on already, but most of the time the phonics pages align with what we're working on at the moment!
Where do you get the worksheets for the students? They look really well done.
Love all of your videos. Thanks for all you share with us! 😊 Do you have any specific resources to use with struggling readers in small groups??
Yes! In small groups, I focus a lot on phoneme-grapheme mapping with the skills students need and I also use my decodable interventions. The phoneme-grapheme mats I use look like this: www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Phoneme-Grapheme-Word-Mapping-Mats-Science-of-Reading-Word-Maps-9221549
and then the interventions I use are these: www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Decodable-Interventions-Sentences-Science-of-Reading-7048440
Thank you for another great video! I just registered for the Winter Educator Summit. Can't wait to watch your presentation! Also, I love the shoes/sneakers you had on the day after the Open House. May I ask the name of them/ where you bought them? Super cute!
It looks like they don't have them anymore, but I got them a few years ago from Sam Edelman! If you look online, and search for their suede sneakers, you can find similar ones! They're nice and comfortable!
Hi Susan. I love your teaching ideas. How many students are there in your class
This year I only have 15 (don't throw rocks!!!!) - we have a couple low enrollment years in front of us, but we usually have around 18
Great presentation. BTW, there is a typo on the classroom mgmt slide bullet #3. It should say affect...just in case you'd like to change it for future use.
Of course there is! Thank you for pointing that out so I can fix it for next year!!
Hi Susan does A Little Spot of Happiness come with all the actual spots and if so, where did you purchase it from
The actual little stuffed animal spots are an add-on I got from Amazon! You can find them here: amzn.to/3zOe3DJ
