💙I've got so many Great memories of you Dave....flying down the wing, skipping past helpless defenders...and crossing a great ball into the box for big Bob Latchford to finish it off with another brilliant goal!!!...💙Oh! How we could do with you and Bob in our team right now!!...(but I will live with the memories)...Good luck to you and your family...from a Blue Scouser..💙👍🏻

Me too, 1978 was a great Everton team, I was 8 years old, I can still remember how he could centre a ball onto Bobs head!

Evertonian here. One of the all time best. Right up there with Sheedy and Trevor Steven.
Except Dave was truly truly two footed.
Mirror like when he went up either wing.

What a nice, emotional and touching video of one of the greatest winger in british football. My life turned back in november 1977 after the 6-0 win on Goodison vs. Coventry. What an amazing game you played. Dave, Latch and Andy King became quickly my favorite Evertonians. I´m still blue to this day (what a great win last night), but when I think back it will always be the three of you, and players like Sharp, Southall and Ferguson that fills my heart. Andy is missed though. Best of luck to you, Dave. And what a sweet dog she is, Hannah. Greetings from a big Everton-fan from Copenhagen, Denmark, here 5 years after upload.

I’m a private hire cabbie not only did I see him play when I was a boy but I also drove him and Hannah when he was promoting his book!
One of nicest blokes you’ll ever meet. A real diamond and Hannah was impeccable. she just curled up at his feet in the front footwell.

Dave Thomas was such a fantastic player. Whenever, I talk about our great QPR side in the mid 1970's, I always say ' Thomas, Bowles, Francis' He was right up there with them two. He was as quick as lightning. He could play on either wing (although I remember him running down the left wing mostly) He could cross a ball with either feet, and could he chip in with some incredible goals. The goal against Leicester City to win 1-0 at Filbert Street in our great season, brilliant! A goal against Chelsea to win 1-0 in a midweek game. Another gem. That great run and finish against Derby (who went on to win the championship) to help us to a 4-1 win. He was a win wizard! Tycer was a gem! They don't make them like him anymore. I absolutely loved him as a player, and he is a gentleman as well. He doesn't even feel sorry for himself with his impaired vision. That says everything you need to know about his character. All the very best to him and thank you for all those happy memories you gave me back in the 70's. I treasure all of them.

Fantastically brave ! Dave you were magnificent for Rangers, made so many goals out of nothing and scored some blinders too. They talk about Ronaldo running as fast with the ball as without it... you did that week in week out ! A wonderful unselfish winger in that beautiful 1970s Rangers side ! Respect and best wishes Dave

Saw Dave during his time at Everton and his link up with Bob Latchford
He helped Bob reach the 30 goal target in the 1977-78 season, for which a national newspaper had set a prize of £10,000. Both these top players earned peanuts compared to the advent of the Premier League.
Now in 2024 Everton are in depths of decline on the pitch and have players who couldn't hold a candle to Dave Thomas as he was with Burnley QPR and Everton. Best of luck for the future.

I had a client who was an Everton fan as soon as I told him I’m a Rangers fan he started off about Dave, he and his family had regular debates about who would be in Everton’s all time best 11, the one position they didn’t argue about was left midfield - Dave Thomas.

Dave Thomas. What an ace!! I hope that he has an open mind. With GLAUCOMA there is a possible hope to restore his sight with ZEBRAFISH capsules that restimulate the stem cells in the eyes.
Hope this gets to him and he tries this treatment that could restore some or all of his sight. I hope he does and this message gets to him. Good Luck. Shame you did not play with Leighton James at QPR. What a combination.
