The Dodgers have averaged just under 99 wins each of the past 10 full seasons. Those have been some damn good teams, and they have one title during that time. This sounds great but still does not guarantee they will get dominant pitching or win in the playoffs. If I had to pick one team to win the WS I would go with the Dodgers. Yup there's no guarantees. But these are great moves to help finally get over that hurdle, especially 2025 beyond when Ohtani is recovered and Yamamoto adjust.
First superteam? No. Many existed before and many were iterations of a Yankees team in the last 20 years, which made them the villain of baseball since I was a kid. The dodgers cannot leave the rest of their team looking like it is.. Jason heyward should have no more than an occasional start and pinch hit role.. this idea that he’s our RF because of a bounce back year which was still mediocre if we’re being honest. Nah i always knew the yankees wouldnt get both yamamoto and soto . They were outbid by the fucking mets . What a joke
As a Rockies fan...I might have to become a dodgers fan, ain't no way Rockies are winning a trophy in my lifetime now 😂
Stay true. I was a dodger fan through the 90s and early 2000s when we were a joke. I mean, we traded away Mike Piazza at the height of his career. It doesn’t get more painful than that.
@@Perfectly_Cromulent351im a new baseball fan. But was not fond of being an angels fan because how poor of an organisation it has been forever. Im glad im in a situation where i can choose my first and only team to root for my lifetime with the dodgers. They have done great things in the past and now it the present. ohtani is also the reason why i started watching baseball and i love japanese baseball players they are all so humble and respectful.
@@tarukashao5691 welcome! you’ll like the Dodgers; players like Freeman, Betts, and Kershaw are humble and all class.
@@Perfectly_Cromulent351 can't wait to learn more about the rest of the team. i already watched some podcast interviews of Glasnow. the dude is so chill an relaxed :D also have been following yamamoto in the japanese league. To think it was possible to sign ohtani and him while renewing Tyler Glasnow contract is just magical. Hope he can have great year with no injuries
@@tarukashao5691 yeah, if Glasnow can stay healthy, I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s a Cy Young candidate by the end of the season. He’s actually a new player. The Dodgers just traded for him from the Rays. Are you familiar with Hideo Nomo? He was the first modern Japanese player to play in the mlb during the 90s and he played for the Dodgers. The dude was a huge celebrity in LA back then and even won Rookie of the year.
No surprise. They are closer to Japan.
Hell yeah, Todd Frazier coming with the positive energy. I forgive you for getting extra rest and beating Joc in the home run derby. 😂 Just messing, lets go!!!
They still need more pitching tho Othani won’t pitch till 2025 .. so 1.yamamoto 2. Glassnow 3 buhler that’s it
I would be VERY happy if LA won the next 10 World Series. Baseball is better when the Dodgers rule the game. Bleed blue.
97' Marlins like Sabbath said
It's ok yankees fan .now we get Corbin burnes ? or Dylan cease ? bullpen joradn hicks ? Maybe Jordan monty ?
Lol dodgers not done lol
@@BobSmith-qh1ej I'm yankees fan it's ok maybe, now yankees get Corbin burnes or Dylan cease? Maybe Blake snell?
I want Snell and Hader.
@@diamonddoggspuppy7755 I hope so ?
Guy with the yellow hat is so mad… 😂
🙏 every mlb teams we are back
New York just got Toronto’ed
If he were to defer his money they probably could be able to get burnes.
The thing is Freidmen was playing chest and he just checkmate everyone…. This is not checkers
@jonahahumada1257 checkmated everyone? My child... the dodgers spent a billion this off-season and still play second fiddle to Atlanta in the NL💀🤣. You don't gotta cheat and circumvent the salary cap when you can sign your entire core for less than half what they're worth on the open market🤷🏻♂️👌🏻
@@fullcircle8231 cheat are you kidding me why cause nobody defers that’s up to players not just a office stop crying cause we actually have the revenue and TV deals to do moves like this didn’t hear anything last year when we didn’t pick up anybody stop crying your not gonna do nothing stop laughing I didn’t see you at WS last year so shhhhh be ready for opening day n come with no excuses
The dodgers fan is coming home
Dodgers not a super team yet. Dodgers pitching is still bad. Buehler, Gonsolin, Kershaw, not coming back until July.
This is a longer-term move. Not just focusing on 2024.
Buehler
Ohtani
Yamamoto
Glasnow
Kershaw
Miller
Urias/May/Gonsolin
That is a ridiculous rotation.
I can name a few super teams and they are all the dodgers
93 Bluejays?
I wondered who was going to go live at 11:30pm on a Thursday
Actually now I think the guys pre-recorded this lol. No mention of the other reports that came out tonight or the details of the contract that are already out
Having Ohtani and now Yamamoto on the Dodgers will have Sasaki do everything in his power to push the NPB to post him next year. LA is officially a hot spot for future Japanese players and it's not even close. The Dodgers have all the leverage for the next decade 😂 eat that haters! 🤣💙✌🏽
Agree. Sasaki had already shown his intention to be posted next year. Murakami, an infielder, is another great player to watch get posted soon.
The World Series is now for the Dodgers to lose.
When are the Dodgers just joining the Japanese league
Sound like you’re butthurt 😂
JFC These guys don't even know what a "Super team" is either, reminds me of all the tools who said the 80's Celtics, Lakers, and Pistons and the 90's Bulls were "Super teams" Sorry but drafting Bird and getting lucky with a trade to get McHale and Parish, or Drafting Magic and Worthy nearly a decade after trading for Kareem is NOT what the term Super team was created for. Those Yankees of the past or the Big Red Machine were hardly super teams, they were organically built.
12 years?? Wow
I'm really happy they screwed the Nets and Yankees. Now Robetts better not screw it up
Dodger Stadium will be sold out every night it’s the like the showtime lakers of the 80’s
Give me either giolito & teoscar
Or giolito and hader
The dodgers have 3 superstars in their prime .. freeman is 33 but just had one of his best years so I think he’s got at least 2 years of elite production left. Mookie is 31 and just had one of his best years, I think he has about 3-4 years of elite production left and ohtani is 29 so he probably has 4-6 years left.. you maximize now because how often will you have 3 of those caliber players on your team at the same time. The dodgers cannot leave the rest of their team looking like it is.. Jason heyward should have no more than an occasional start and pinch hit role.. this idea that he’s our RF because of a bounce back year which was still mediocre if we’re being honest. Lux is our starting SS and just came off a big injury, max muncy hasn’t been that great . Taylor is out LF and we literally don’t have a 3b outside of Vargas .. this team is real too heavy
I am so happy this is just great news
Samurai Japan LA Branch.
Otani bought the Dodgers.
Not seeing this anywhere
It’s everywhere
