Ultimate Prepper: My Food Storage System - Full Year Supply for Family and Friends.

  • Failure to prepare means preparing to fail. Hard times have come to every society that has ever existed, and it will come to ours sooner or later. My wife and I have always had some level of food storage, whether under our beds when we lived in a small apartment, or dedicated rooms now that we live in a much larger home. It is remarkably easy to be food prepared, and it saves substantial money by buying large quantities of food supplies when on sale and using those supplies while prices are higher. This is both a money-smart and a preparedness-smart approach to having a sustainable food storage.

Much of your information including the history, is solid. Here is the "but"... I would strongly encourage you to keep your food storage to yourself! No photos, videos or locations should ever be made public. Unknowingly, you sir, have just put your family's security at risk from raiders like the criminal element, FEMA (about the same as far as your food preps go) and even desperate/scared neighbours. You may even want to rethink posting this video. I live remote, so this is definitely a concern for us. Be safe. Be vigilant and God bless.

The Lord lead me to start preparing in 2010..when Obama was in office. I started with once a month orders of #10 cans of dehydratedand freeze-dried foods..about a case a month. I bought whatever they had on sale that we would eat. I did that for 7-8 years. Then I thought I had better learn to garden..so I started to do that. A couple of years later, I started canning. Then I bought 40 acres off grid..with solar, a small cabin and the start of a root cellar. We almost have our place finished..complete with 2 extra cabins for family and a green house. We feel we are ready for almost anything..

I appreciate your thought process regarding sharing food you grow with others. The issue I see is the others spread the good news and soon you could be overrun with others expecting you to continually feed them. Or they will come and strip every edible thing they can find. Many of these “others” are not from here and don’t have the values we have grown up with.

The $1,000/acre good land with easy water is no longer available in Idaho, but I know some people with 40 acre lots for around $150K in Idaho that is about 5 miles from town and about 1 mile off of pavement on a county maintained gravel road. Idaho has had massive amounts of people moving in so prices have exploded in the last four years.

@@BelieverofChristJesus70 It's Butte county, Idaho. About 4.5 miles to the southeast of Arco. It's adjacent to millions of acres of public land (BLM). I have a house about 1/2 mile away. There are also some other houses 1 mile to the north. Otherwise, there's no homes to the south for 60 miles. The county only plows once a day in the winter so if the wind is high, the piles will lock you in for a day occasionally. There's also no power at that location. You'd have to bring in the power line about 1 mile to make it work. Solar would be a better option. Downside is that there are no trees anywhere. Just grass and sagebrush. Although close to town, the city is only 1,000 strong. Groceries, lumber, hardware, etc are all about 4.5 miles away, but the big city is about 60 miles to the east if you want to visit Walmart.

The water channel has a few baby gators i am raising to get them big enough to deter anyone thinking about stepping in the water. Signs are posted so i have done my part on the legal side :)

Really your not saving much at all if you don't pay the cc before the pay date as interest is monthly and compounded on top of that. So in three months without paying your cc your 10% savings has cost you over the regular price therefore zero savings. Even if you paid half the bill in four months time the savings is the same price. Just have the money up front folks and stay out of debt. You can certainly use the cc but pay it before the 21 days to have zero interest.

I know you said you have greenhouses and land but do you store seeds as well? Can depend on a crop to produce seeds because of blight,Disease drought etc. No livestock? Chickens especially easy to care for you would get eggs and fresh meat and can grow their feed(Corn) on your land. A good system is canned goods. Last for a few years and you can use and resupply the cans as you go to keep everything up to date and in stock. What about fuel for Generators? Solar/wind backups. Medicines pain, fever etc. again you can use and replace as you go. Protection is one of the most valuable tools you can have in quanity because when the SHTF people will want to take whats yours. Ammo at least 10k rounds and multiple Rifles and handguns. Learning to Booby trap your property lines is important as well. Early warning intruder traps can give you the seconds/minutes you need to arm and defend yourself and family. Desperate hungry people will have no limits on to what they will do to take yours.

It makes me hopeful to see so many families playing it smart, stockpiling food, growing gardens, and learning homesteading skills - even people living in cities. The silver lining of the 2020 insanity is that millions of people finally woke up to the insanity of relying on one's 'government' to do a good job of keeping our countries running, the utter joke of relying on our commercial/govt systems to sustain us through difficult times. Govts around the world proved just the opposite. Most elected politicians care only about themselves and are part of the NWO mindset.
