Rosy talks through how we grow those beautiful how garden plants on the nursery to ensure they are at their peak at the right time.

We are limited on what is allowed due to the BBC rules, but we should have some great pics and shorts coming from this and we will show on the next Q&A

I went to Chelsea for many years. I always bought from Hardy’s, their plants are excellent. They always got a Gold medal.❤

Amazing! I saw some of the gardens on CottoVerdi and they looked fantastic. How in the world do they transport everything and then set it up to look like it’s been there forever 😱

Very interesting your wild flower method of growing. How deep is the potting mix on the plastic sheets? I love all your videos, they are so informative.

There is a biodegradable material with about 2.5cm of growing media. The plastic sheet helps with moisture and for moving around. Then once it is in place it has the plastic removed so it can grow away.

All that effort for Chelsea, all the waste and use of resources so people can drink overpriced champagne pretending it's about gardening. No thanks 🤣

I've only been once . I didn't have champagne and it was definitely about the gardening for me . I love the shows - the passion , knowledge , celebration of plant life ,the effort people put in and the generosity of the experts is wonderful ! For me , it's like the Olympics and I'll be watching avidly. Our lives would be poorer without such events . I'm all for reducing waste and energy as are most gardeners and I imagine exhibitors do their best in this regard . Thank you for the videos Rosy and for all the Chelsea years . I wanted to say how much it's loved even by those who aren't actually there . Have a lovely week . Perhaps you could do a video about sustainability related to shows?

@@user-ie7fr5pm2q did you actually have access to the hard fought gardens or you looked at them like a pleb from behind a rope? I used to go to a lovely plant show in Athens when I was growing up and it was all about growers selling plants (in the old gasworks which made for a fun post industrial setting) and none of the competitive nonsense of medals and spending millions on impressing a handful of people. Should we be thinking about the overall unnecessary nature of this and how it impacts natural resources? The RHS does a lot of good and I've been a member for years but particularly the heavily class coded Chelsea is surely the flagship in conspicuous consumption for the sake of it. Could all this effort be used into having some better impact for everyone not just people prepared to pay upwards of £100 to be there to be seen?
